In reply to: What do you mean ?
Something like a HTML Guru….ok ok
Merci @mercime !
In reply to: Activity Stream Date FormatHi @amalsh,
all this can be done if you create a child theme.
Date format is explained in the WP codex. https://codex.wordpress.org/Formatting_Date_and_Time
And for the other question: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-to-remove-active-xyz-hours-ago/
In reply to: Register Errori presume the error is coming from a bad translated string, that’s why it is necessary to debug this possibility.
To confirm this, you have to retrieve your language file (rename simply the pt_BR.mo and the Buddypress-pt_BR.mo) and WP/BP will be automatically in english.
So when in english and the error disapeared, you know that the translation is the culprit.
In reply to: Using Register page when logged inok, so try this:
In reply to: Can't unpack/install Buddypress5.2.17 means that your php version is not good for WP 3.5/BP 1.6.2
2 solutions: ask your host for a greater version or go to another host.
A free hosting service is anyway not recommended for a plain usage of BP.In reply to: Only LEFT half of avatar cropper showing in BP 1.6.2Buddypress is installed on a folder “social” and not to the website root. Is this a problem?
Maybe…. BP is only a WP plugin. But if your WP is in the social folder too, there should not be the problem.
Sorry can’t help more.In reply to: How do I resize comment and activity avatar size!?hi,

try the plugin group email notification subscription
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-email-subscription/In reply to: Register page "coming soon"there is a checkbox near Anyone can register. Is it checked and saved ?
In reply to: Register page "coming soon"hi,
what is your theme ?In reply to: Installation on MultisiteHi,
forget languages in a first time and set up your WP to a network.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_NetworkThen install BP with group forums activated
Then create a group for each language you wantThis is the most simple solution i guess. The’re probably others. 😉
In reply to: 404 for conditional tags docsIn reply to: Two different types of membersHi,
take a look here, the’re some answers and a plugin
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/split-members-into-admin-defined-caregories/
In reply to: where are the instructions?Hi,
by default, to invite users to join a group witch you are the admin, you must first have friends. Once they accepted friendship, you can invite them from the friends list who appear when you click on “invite” on the group menu.
But perhaps you may prefer this plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/invite-anyone/
In reply to: Using Register page when logged inPut this in your theme’s functions.php
<code>
`function my_registration_redirect(){return home_url(‘/your_page_name’);}
add_filter(‘registration_redirect’,’my_registration_redirect’);`
</code>In reply to: Only LEFT half of avatar cropper showing in BP 1.6.2Hummm ! Of course you try to upload normal sizd pictures, not such 5Mo poster….
I don’t know what happens. So let’s try something other.
Upload bp-avatar-suggestions plugin, prepare some test pictures (150×150) and upload them throught the plugin admin.
Then go back to a profile and see if have the plugins avatar, if you can change them or add your own avatar….In reply to: Register Errordeactivate your language file in wp-config and use english as default during your adjustment.
In reply to: Only LEFT half of avatar cropper showing in BP 1.6.2Are you on a single or MS installation ?
In reply to: Not exactly "a few easy clicks"Activity page as home page is the usual behaving of a BP site.
In reply to: Privatize BuddyPressHi,
make a child theme, copy all bp-default template folder/files you’re interested to set as reserved to members into it
Before each content area, add a simple if statement.
if (is_user_logged_in) or if (!is_user_logged_in)
the content to show/hide
endif
In reply to: Not exactly "a few easy clicks"The page doesn’t exist because activity comments are fired on the same page by an ajaxified comment form.
Have you perhaps some pages in the trash box ? If yes you must delete them completely. This can cause many side effects on the existing pages.
Deactivate the rrs multi importer plugin
Have you installed group forums OR the bbPress plugin ? There is probably a problem with the page name “forum” who interact also with existing BP pages.
In reply to: [Resolved] New Buddypress Default ThemesThat’s why BP 1.7 will be adaptable to “every” theme. 😉
For now, 1.6.2 has is own default theme and a few third party themes around. But understand that most of the BP users built their community tool around an existing WP site, and also an existing layout. This work is not intended to be shared easely or at all, i guess. And explains why you haven’t a big choice for BP templates.And probably also, because many BP user are advanced user in comparison to common WP bloggers. This means particulary a certain level of quality exigency, because BP works really bad on bad developped themes. WP was more tolerant untill a little while back….and older and more popular.
Each community is different, and it’s a bit more delicate to distinguish communities only by theme as single blogs by theme. And as you know blogs are more used as BP sites.
A child theme is intented to modify a original theme, not to replace it completely. The interest of a child is that it lets you modify what you want without loosing your changes at each update of BP and/or the original theme.
In reply to: Not exactly "a few easy clicks"Naomi, on the BP settings the “pages” tab show the page name for the site wide activity. By defaults it is “activity’, choose it as static page pour your homepage. And “blog”, default name too, as your posts page.
BP commes with all necessary templates for everything, by default so you don’t need to create another extra homepage or any other page for “replies.
