If you use a custom theme test your config with bp-default and all plugins deactivated and begin to debug…
If you use bp-default, deactivate all plugins and begin to debug…In reply to: Remove sidebar from members and site directoryHi,
Didn’t understand how you were be able to find how to remove the sidebar on activity and group and not on the other pages, but here is how to remove it on what you’re asking for now
bp-default/members/index.php > contains the call to the sidebar
Copy index into the child and remove the line 92: get_sidebar( ‘buddypress’ );
The same in members/single/home.phpSimilar for search. bp-default/search.php (copy to child) and remove get_sidebar at the end of the file.
When copy/pasting, remember that the child should reflect exatly the same directory as the original theme
Working on Salutation is a mess… and a bit complicated to use.
I suggest you to test your blog with the twenty eleven theme to see if your posts are coming correctly.
After that you have to test with the default layout of salutation.
Normally, BP has nothing to do with posts. It’s WP stuff only.
If posts are not visible it’s probably due to the theme, which is buggy.
Put wpdebug on true in wp-config (sit at the end of the file) to understand what i mean. 😉Go to your admin > Pages and delete the register and empty the trash
Do the same if you have a Login page.
Then go to settings > buddypress.
– Tab Component and check the one you want.
– Tab Pages and create a page from there for each component.
Save.
Now BP is correctly configured.
Check also settings > permalinks and choose something other as default.
If you created some custom menus before installing BP, double check them to have the new pages.
Done !
In reply to: Groups Directory Page is Missinghi,
go to settings > buddypres > tab pages and create a page for each activated BP component.
hi,
or you can also add this piece of code to plugins/bp-custom.php
`function remove_public_message_button() {
remove_filter( ‘bp_member_header_actions’,’bp_send_public_message_button’, 20);`}
add_action( ‘bp_member_header_actions’, ‘remove_public_message_button’ );https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/customizing/bp-custom-php/
In reply to: Re-order profile menu itemsCan not work, because your file name is wrong !
It’s the theme functions.php, not functions-custom.phpand this ocde is ok, i tested it on BP before to publish here.
In reply to: Re-order profile menu itemshi @diondeville,
to change the profile menu (on the top right of the ToolBar)
<code>
function my_change_profile_tab_order() {
global $bp;$bp->bp_nav[‘settings’][‘position’] = 10;
$bp->bp_nav[‘activity’][‘position’] = 20;
$bp->bp_nav[‘friends’][‘position’] = 30;
$bp->bp_nav[‘groups’][‘position’] = 40;
$bp->bp_nav[‘blogs’][‘position’] = 50;
$bp->bp_nav[‘messages’][‘position’] = 60;
$bp->bp_nav[‘profile’][‘position’] = 70;
}
add_action( ‘bp_setup_nav’, ‘my_change_profile_tab_order’, 999 );</code>Take care with quotes when copy/pasting from here ! 😉
In reply to: Standard profile fields not showing in BP profilesThe WP standard fields are not used, this is default usage with BP activated.
But you can create your own custom fields on the profile.
More about this here: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3335In reply to: Remove 'Edit My Profile'oops, sorry, was code for the old buddybar. It’s now called Toolbar and implemented by default on BP, but i don’t use it.
Also, be a bit more explicit next time you ask for something. They’re many menus in BP. 😉Use this in functions.php (tested: works on WP 3.5/BP 1.6.3 MS)
function admin_bar_remove_this(){ global $wp_admin_bar; $wp_admin_bar->remove_node('my-account-forums-favorites'); } add_action('wp_before_admin_bar_render','admin_bar_remove_this');The node id’s are all in the footer html of each page where the toolbar appears. This means you have to view the page source code to get the node id you want to remove.
Menu items are in li tags and each li as a ID which begins with “wp-admin-bar-” followed by “-node-name”

take a look here :
http://bp-tricks.com/snippets/code/arrange-group-profile-navigation-menu/If you copy/paste the code, take care to retrieve the /* before the second function name.
In reply to: [Resolved] Links a specific pages doesn't workhi @ridagold,
your site links are not correct. Something is wrong in your settings or permalinks settings.
ie: /nv-blogorporativo/index.php/activities should be /nv-blogorporativo/activities
When you create a new page, you should have something like:
example.com/page_name
And for the BP components mandatory pages
example.com/activity/
example.com/groups/
example.com/members/
and so on…When you create a page, what do you see in the permalink slug under the title box ?
In reply to: Text under comment box on BuddyPress Default themeHi,
@mercime, your code gives a warning about array merge.
Tthe blog comment form is not BP dependant, but is WP stuff. So you can use a WP filter in this case.
Insert the code below into the child theme functions.php (not bp-default functions.php because you will loose your change at the next BP update)
<code>add_filter( ‘comment_form_after’, ‘blabla’ );
function blabla () { ?>
your text here !
<?php
}</code>wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/members/single/profile/edit.php
Hi guys,
you can try to deactivate the appropriate filter concerning the place who the unwanted output shows.
You have in each BP folder a filter file where all the existing active filters are listed.
Once you found one who concern your situation, simply deactivate it.
Open your child theme functions.php, copy in the filter taken from one of the above file and change the word add_filter to remove_filter
bp-messages/bp-messages-filters.php
bp-activity/bp-activity-filters.php
etcIn reply to: Traducción Buddypress 1.6Ola !
The best is probably here (thanks @djpaul)

Older version avaible here:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/buddypress/dev/es/default
wow, works like a charm !
Tested it on the devsite (wp 3.5 & BP 1.6.3) with group forums and single bbPress forum.Unable to change the status on group forum post when bbPress plugin is activated.
Does this mean that the plugin can actually only be used on one configuration: group forums OR bbPress forum ?
Aside, a little js conflict with BP GTM System 1.9.6. 😀 (as expected….)
When GTM is activated, i’m unable to change the status on the frontend of the site wide forum. Only possible from within admin.
hi digitman2,
you can do this from within your child theme.
your_child/members/single/profile/profile-loop.phpAt the begin of the file add this:
<code> if ( is_user_logged_in() ) : (within php tags)</code>and this at the end of the file, just before the latest do_action
<code><?php else : ?>
<?php echo “div style=’width: 600px;height:25px; padding: 4px; border: 3px solid #ff0000; text-align: center; font-style:bold; font-size: 1.3em;’> You have to login to view a member’s profile./div”; ?>
<?php endif; ?></code>Take care wwith copy pasting, some html tags are not complete
good question: it’s for group forums only.
This means perhaps “old” , i don’t know.
But the plugin is working well with BP 1.6.3 group forums.If you have suggestions to improve it to work on bbPress, don’t hesitate.
In reply to: What do you mean ?Wow, wouah, codex rockstars, huh, yahiiiii and so on…
sure this are placeholders, i suspected it !
Thank for your advice ! 😀Because of his intemporality, can “soon” be a deadline ?
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/soon`
$start = new DateTime('xx-xx-xx'); // DD-MM-YYYY
$endDate= new DateTime('xx-xx-xx'); // DD-MM-YYYY
$soon = new DateTime(date('d-m-Y'));if ($start <= $soon && $soon <= $endDate) {Â `
`echo '
Too late !
';
}
`@mercime glad to hear that !
In reply to: Activity Stream Date Formatview here, this can perhaps inspire you https://github.com/alex11/wordpress-plugins/blob/master/rs-buddypress-activity-refresh/rs-bp-activity-refresh.php
In reply to: Shortcodes – Disable WordPress automatic formattingHi @m1000,
all forum filters are listed in bp-forums/bp-forums-filters.php
ie :<code>remove_filter( ‘bp_get_the_topic_post_content’, ‘wptexturize’ );
remove_filter( ‘bp_get_the_topic_post_content’, ‘wpautop’ );
remove_filter( ‘bp_get_the_topic_latest_post_excerpt’, ‘wpautop’ );</code>and many others ! 😉
