Much thanks, merci. I added this to style.css in my child theme and no change.

Latest BP installed and yes, the comments are really all that exist, as the little bits of code I have tested right below it don’t seem to change anything (e.g. page title padding)

    thanks for the input, chouf.

I’m using a child theme for the bp-default. No css I have entered in this seems to do anything, but the css style sheet appears to be valid, as originally, it wasn’t allowing the theme activation due to my naming it styles.css vs. style.css. So, the file is recognized as valid, but no joy with any code yet.

It would be cool just to add in some code and address what is probably the padding, is my guess.

Aces, thx. This is too vague for me. Can you provide any more specifics, possibly? Might I be able to address this by editing the css file, possibly? thx.

Thanks merci. That was done before my first post, but I appreciate your attept to help.

We can close this, as recently I realized the page will be not found until a post is created and properly assigned.

    thx, again!

So my work is not in vain and the next person can benefit from me scouring the web and finding zero on this, the file path is … bp-members/bp-members-functions.php

    ding! Happy Easter;-)

I’d like to thank all the volunteers who help us out in here. Anyone who tries to help another is a blessing, so thanks to all the moderators and other brave users who chime in.

I’m not sure what you mean, chouf. 1.2 simply came up in a google search, because the text I need is apparently in this 1.2 file which no longer appears to exist in the current version.

The closest thing I found to the text is in bp-core-filters.php, but it’s not an exact activation email text match and any edits I do prove it because the activation email text is unchanged. So, I must be editing the wrong file, which didn’t surprise me because I saw the slight difference in text.

I remain stuck. That old 1.2 file has the exact text of my activation email. I simply know not where to locate that source file, even though I have found some indicate it’s in the filters file. I’m not seeing it in there;-(

    thanks. jz

    Thx for the reply.

I must have failed to mention I had crated the page twice and toggled the reading setting a few times with no joy. It remains in this condition.I just want to assign this one page as the posts page, as I have done successfully in other wordpress sites that did not have BP.

Not sure if it’s a BP issue with this current site, or another issue.

Does anyone know how comments would slip by moderation in a buddypress environment, even when “an admin must always approve” is checked?  I tested a few comments in an activity feed and it posted without a hitch.

    thx.

I cannot determine the right spot for this; washoping for some guidance on hwo to insert into functions.php. I thought i left a comment here, but may have possibly& mistakenly left in one of our other discussions.

thanks for any more feedback on placement. e.g. after such and such, before such and such, possibly? thx.

Hi. I just jumped in as I’m looking to see which file to edit to add this country list code I was just given. I ftp’d into /public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-members/ and am not seeing some of the files mentioned. I checked a level above, etc. and still not seeing. Could easily be overlooking, but thought I’d ask for a lifeline in how I might add the country code list. Currently, I added a dropdown into the base, so figured once I find the code, I can insert the list.

Suggestions, possibly? Thank you for your time, in advance!

Everyone, modemlooper hooked me up w/a country list. Does anyone have a state list and how to add it, just for the U.S., at least?

    Thx in advance.

Thanks! Can you tell me, modemlooper: Does this go in register.php? If so, can you suggest where? Any guidance is appreciated. I recently broke my site by adding some css to functions.php, but I was able to clean it up. Thanks, again!

Was just thinking: maybe I need to add the country dropdown first? I’m a novice. I’ll go see if I can figure it out. Yikes! hah.

Can anyone help me? I tried to add this code to my functions php and got a parse error on save. i removed it and it’s still giving me a parse error;-( my site seems to be broken, now. I’m going to keep looking, but plz jump in if u can help. thanks!

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /home/massagem/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php on line 39

The xprofile appears to be a great addition, as this is my first site and I appreciate the options it offers. Has anyone found an answer to adding in country/state options for a dropdown? Is there something created where we can add it into the code, or is there a plug-in for this? I have seen it on another site, so not sure if they did it manually or not. thanks!

Thanks. So, there must be a child theme, just to confirm? The main theme doesn’t have any css in the styles.css. It points to function.php i think. Just want to clarify because even though in my limited understanding of child themes being created so code isn’t wiped away, I am still working with the main theme. Most css appears to be in the function or functions.php file. Do you see why I’m asking? I’m trying to find these settings just to adjust them.

thanks as always, mercime! (btw, Have u heard of the band, “MercyMe?”)

Thanks, mercime. If the styles.css is pointed to functions.php, would this just be added there?
