In reply to: Parameter 1 valid call back error
It’ll be BuddyPress in conjunction with something else. What theme are you using? What other plugins are active?
In reply to: Remove BuddyPress Without Losing Blog PostsJust deactivate BuddyPress. It won’t break anything.
Thanks for trying BuddyPress!
In reply to: Email Notifications not sendingI’ll continue to give this thought. If WordPress emails are sent without ANY plugin or customisation, I am not sure why BuddyPress emails aren’t being sent — we put a lot of work into the v2.5.2 release to try to fix this exactly situation/problem.
In reply to: Parameter 1 valid call back errorUnfortunately, that error message isn’t super-useful to pinpoint where the problem might be.
On my dev environment, I have no trouble running WP-CLI commands. What theme are you using? What other plugins are active?
In reply to: Members can’t update their own passwordsAre you using W3TC Cache with its Object Caching enabled?
(Everyone else: I’m following up Tom’s problem via email and I’ll update here once we have something).
In reply to: Email Notifications not sending@manigopal Are you using any plugins on your site that might affect or customise emails? Any SMTP plugins, etc?
@redokodesign Do you know how to access raw email headers, in whatever email client you use?
If so, can you copy/paste the email headers of a WordPress email that you’ve received from the site (i.e. one that is working correctly and was sent)? Can you also share with me the “to” “from” “bcc” “cc” parts of the text that the BuddyPress email debug plugin sent you?
You can find my email address on https://profiles.wordpress.org/djpaul/
I have a suspicion this is something to do with the “from” or “reply to” properties being different for each email, but I need the data to prove this, and what SMTP plugin you are using to see how it is configuring WordPress.
Ah hah. That’s an interesting error – thanks for testing that. What SMTP plugin are you using?
“SMTP Error: data not accepted.” is some kind of error from the SMTP server. We need to understand what it means and what causes it.
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATAI would hope by the end of the year
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATANo, not file formats. 😉
Structured ways of representing data. WordPress’ exports use XML, with a particular format called WXR. Anything that needs to import data from WordPress uses an XML parser and looks for the structured markup defined by the WXR format.
In reply to: IMPORT / EXPORT BUDDYPRESS DATAThe project has talked about doing this before, though those discussions were several years ago by this point. I can’t remember if we were waiting for a REST API to come along before embarking on this, or whether it’s just been the case that no-one’s wanted to work on such a feature so far or have prioritised it underneath other things, or something else.
Does anyone know of any Open file formats for data export, or would we have to invent one? Does anyone have experience architecting such things?
In reply to: Buddypress + EWWW + WebP + CloudflareI have never heard of this. We might need to look into it.
Do you know *what* instance of the
scripttag your set of plugins was breaking on, so we can look at the markup being generated? We have lots.In reply to: Add @mentions in pluginI accidentally closed that board; it should be open, though I don’t know how many people look at it, to be honest.
In reply to: ShortCodes in PHP Pages🙂
In reply to: Buddypress & User RolesNot that I know of.
In reply to: Activation mails not sending after updateWe’ve fixed this for BuddyPress 2.5.2, which will be out this week (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). See https://buddypress.org/support/topic/read-this-first-buddypress-2-5-master-list/#post-250544
In reply to: Buddypress & User RolesBuddyPress does not use WordPress Roles — it maybe be possible to integrate these into parts of BuddyPress but it’ll be extremely time-consuming as you’ll have to write a lot of code.
In reply to: Email template with loop statementYou can add whatever custom PHP you want inside the email template, yes. I would suggest for now you pass the product info as a custom token to your email, and write a PHP loop to render whatever you want.

In reply to: Email Notifications Not WorkingFrom memory, if someone posts to the activity stream of a group you are a member of, you only get a email notification if someone mentions your name directly.
In reply to: Email Notifications Not WorkingBy “notification”, do you mean an email? Or a notification in the toolbar? Or both?
In reply to: Email Notifications Not WorkingThat PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT sounds like a common problem with WordPress. I suggest you Google it (it might be a lack of disk space).
In reply to: Add @mentions in pluginSomewhere, at some point, Awpcp will print the comments to the web page (so people can read them). You’ll need to find where this happens, and run the text through the
bp_activity_at_name_filterfilter before the comment template is printed to the page. For example, it might look like:
<?php echo $comments; ?>You’d change it to:
<?php echo apply_filters( 'bp_activity_at_name_filter', $comments ); ?>In reply to: Email Notifications Not Working@davidkey772 Download this plugin from the following link, and add it and activate it on your site: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yz1155axhbyntw7/bp-email-debug-2.php?dl=0
Then do something that should trigger a BuddyPress email. For example, if you are using the Activity component, have one user write a message on the activity stream, then have a second user reply to that activity message.
Since you’ve said normal WordPress emails are being sent out OK, this plugin will email some debug information to the site owner’s email address. Once you have received at least one debug email, you can turn off the plugin!
Please let me know what the debug email says.
