    Just disable blog registrations in your Site Admin > Options panel. And please take some time to do a cursory search of Google or the WPMU forums as this is a basic question and nothing to do with Buddypress.

    No, BP doesn’t provide a BB theme. And before someone asks, no the forum theme on this site is not being released. I’m sure if someone invented 30 hour days, then BP might come with a BB theme.

    That email is sent as part of WPMU and as such it is best to ask this at their forums. I bet this question comes up lots.

    Yeah. I bet the JavaScript isn’t working. If this is following on from your other posts, it sounds like you are trying to install this in a previous directory. What about deleting everything and starting over in a clean directory?

    There is no server-specific data used by Buddypress. Export all the BP tables and import them into the new database.

    For specific advice on migrating a WPMU installation, it’s probably best to look at the Wu forums.

    No, this thread is not for discusion about getting WPMU 2.8.x to work with BP trunk. start a new thread if you want to talk about that.

    What *is* /engine/start.php, because it’s not WordPress?

    Thanks, I’m making a note of these suggestions.

    The WP widget idea will most likely wait to another future version as I don’t know how to use the WordPress widget class, and I won’t have time to learn it before Sunday.

    Ah hah. Here’s how. Check for these vars, and they’ll pick up your slug if it’s not in /members/.

    ($bp->current_component == slug && $is_member_page)

    Wait until next release if you can before customising the text too much. Same reason as my earlier answer about translation. I’m in two minds on how I want to approach it.

    Points are collected at the moment, they just aren’t shown anywhere. Any suggestions where?

    Feature list I will type when I get home

    Looks like you have White space (blank lines) in that file outside of the php tags

    In reply to: SVN version?

    @djpaul

    You can find the svn URL on the downloads page. I strongly recommend that you do not run the ‘trunk’ version; support would not be given but bug reports/patches/discussion most welcome.

    Kunal17’s correct. I’m not going to program everyone their custom achievements, but since Kunal was the first to ask… ;)

    @djpaul

    Keymaster

    Possibly. There may be something else in the database with regards to the path. I wouldn’t recommend moving an installation, I’d personally always reinstall it.

    Are you using any custom slugs and when you try to register, is there anything in your web server log? Also please see https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/when-asking-for-support

    Finally (before bed), with regards to translations: I could upload the .pot file, or you could generate one yourselves, but I would recommend waiting for the next release.

    I may change the way translation and achievement text customisation are / will be handled, so you may end up wasting your time if you rush to do it at the moment.

    This of course begs the question as to when the next version will be – probably end of the Sunday 16th – will be working hard in my spare time to try to achieve this.

    Kunal17: here’s your example plugin. Put it in your /mu-plugins/ panel and log in as the admin and visit the /wp-admin/ pages (you don’t have to do anything else). In theory you can load this code anywhere you want, it’s just in /mu-plugins/ to make it easier to demo.

    I’m working on replies here. Thank you very much for the positive response so far :)

    Screenshots: I haven’t got any, but look at my achievements profile on my BuddyPress site at http://dangerous-minds.org/members/djpaul/achievements/.

    So, what changed? Did you change server, database, BuddyPress version?

    @djpaul

    edit: stupid forum has ate code. Download my Achievements plugin, look up those functions, copy + paste.

    @djpaul

    Gah, as you can tell, not an easy thing to answer. You can really figure it out from the custom component template plugin.

    You need the following in your setup_globals:

    $bp->achievements->format_activity_function = 'dpa_format_activity';

    and this function

    <br />
    function dpa_format_activity( $item_id, $user_id, $action, $secondary_item_id = false, $for_secondary_user = false ) {<br />
    global $bp;</p>
    <p> switch( $action ) {<br />
    case 'new_achievement':<br />
    $user_link = bp_core_get_userlink( $user_id );<br />
    $achievement_name = apply_filters( 'dpa_filter_achievement_nice_name', dpa_get( 'nice_name', array( array( 'type' => 'd', 'key' => 'id', 'value' => $item_id ) ), 1 ) );</p>
    <p> return array(<br />
    'primary_link' => $user_link,<br />
    'content' => apply_filters( 'dpa_new_achievement_activity', sprintf( __( '%s unlocked achievement: %s', 'dpa-achievement' ), $user_link, $achievement_name ) . __( ' <span class="time-since">%s</span>', 'dpa-achievement' ), $user_id, $item_id )<br />
    );<br />
    break;<br />
    }</p>
    <p> do_action( 'dpa_format_activity', $action, $item_id, $user_id, $action, $secondary_item_id, $for_secondary_user );</p>
    <p> return false;<br />
    }<br />

    And to record activity:

    <br />
    dpa_record_activity(<br />
    array(<br />
    'item_id' => $achievement_id,<br />
    'user_id' => $this->user_id,<br />
    'component_name' => $bp->achievements->slug,<br />
    'component_action' => 'new_achievement',<br />
    'is_private' => 0<br />
    )<br />
    );<br />

    As far as I am aware, BP-FB Connect is not supported. It’s doesn’t even currently work properly, really. It is a port/bodge of a FB Connect plugin for WordPress.

    I don’t know if the WordPress FB Connect plugin is support/still under development, but I know the WPMU/BP-version FB Connect isn’t.

    Yes. Don’t use trunk. It’s not guaranteed to work and is prone to being less secure than actual releases.

    There’s been a lot of code committed to the trunk in the last week or so, with more coming from next week. You’ve lived on the edge and now you’ve been cut ;)

    @djpaul

    Seems to work for me, though not extensively tested.
