    @mercime – because I use wordpress & buddypress, I do my best to not ever rely on anything paid. Do you happen to know of any other way, or will it be built in the future?

    Thanks

    Does that mean that I can integrate users data with their blog. Right now the two are separated. I want to show blocks of information from a users profile in their blog. For instance:
    Show profile fields, avatar upload and other info on a users blog page.
    Is that possible?

    thanks

    that is strange. I took your chunk of code above and pasted it into the bp-custom.php page in my plugins folder, and this is what I get in my address bar:
    http://localhost/members/user1//friends/

    I get pushed to the member profile instead of their blog

    my specs:
    I am using wordpress MU 3.4 with BP ver 1.5.6. – I place the code in my plugin file bp-custom.php.
    not sure why I would get a different result than you

    I gave it a try but no dice. It’s odd cause the code will take you through to your profile and also your blog dashboard, so you know there has got to be a way to point to a users blog/page1.php. I’ve searched and searched but cannot find a solution.

    @edinchez & @valuser – it ended up not working the way I thought it would. Is there any way to use my original code with a slight tweak?
    `
    //=Redirect to User’s Profile Page after Login
    function rt_login_redirect($redirect_to, $set_for, $user){
    $redirect_to = bp_loggedin_user_domain($user->id);
    return $redirect_to;
    }
    add_filter(‘login_redirect’, ‘rt_login_redirect’, 20, 3);
    ?>
    `

    @valuser – today you happen to be my angel coder, so thanks.

    It’s probably not the technically correct way, but I used:
    `href=’$link/page”`

    since we don’t have to use the .php anyway and it worked. Who knew.

    I probably worded that a little difficult. What I meant was that it works great. I just want it to point to a page as it hits the blog.

    So for instance:
    http://mydomain.com/famous/page1.php

    @valuser that is fantastic. If you can accomplish that you can’t sell yourself short, maybe you’re more of a programmer than you think.

    Got one last request – I need it to point to a directory, for instance:
    `<a href='$link/directory'`

    any ideas on how to complete that?

    I am trying to enable it so a user on any blog (on the MU platform) & or page on the site can return back to their blog with one clickable link in the sidebar or header.
    Any ideas on how best to accomplish this?

    Thanks @djpaul

    So if anyone wants the answer to this question @karmatosed led me to https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script, which has the solutions.

    Replace all instances of $ with jQuery.

    $=jQuery

    @famous

    Participant

    @karmatosed – has nothing to do with plugins, its the call in the header to jQuery

    @djpaul – when I remove the call from the header, jQuery stops working for me.

    I am using the code below in the header.

    ‘
    $(document).ready(function(){

    $(“.slidingDiv1”).hide();
    $(“.show_hide1”).show();
    $(‘.show_hide1’).click(function(){
    $(“.slidingDiv1”).slideToggle();
    });
    ‘

    thanks

    @johnjamesjacoby and anyone else who is deep in the BP project – I have got to circle back to this situation.

    Is the recommendation to go with BuddyPress Album then? I have to finish my site and am willing to wait another 7 months if necessary for a BP core integration, however if this is just not going to be the case then please advise the best course of action. As site success is partially based upon these capabilities.

    Thank you in advance for the course of action.

    I am trying to make it a child template, so I don’t mess anything up, is that possible?
    Do I just create a couple of directories in my child template like so…
    /members/single/

    and replace home.php with my own?

    Thanks

    I should have been more specific. I meant, can we separate these classifications because the majority of people seem to like keeping their private lives away from work and vice versa.

    @johnjamesjacoby
    I checked this link out:
    http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/
    and although it is interesting it seems wise to wait on your official stamp of approval. If you look at mySpace and faceBook, you can see that because they enabled sharing of user data (i.e.. pictures, videos, etc…) that is a direct result of their success. People need things to be easy. It seems like users need a WYSIWYG editor for posts, just like the blog interface, but a scaled down version with the media link. Most of these BP sites don’t entice users because they can’t share their lives. I understand that the magnitude of such a foundational change requires much thought and work, so:

    Either way I am waiting on your call?

    Thank you for your & everyone else’s hard work!

    I had a redirect on my htaccess, and because this doesn’t work anymore:
    define( ‘BP_ACTIVATION_SLUG’, ‘madeupslug’ );
    define( ‘BP_REGISTER_SLUG’, ‘madeupregistrationpage’ );
    in wp-config

    I resorted to going back to the /register page, however it didn’t work because the rewrite rule

    double checked and triple checked, this one is checked.
    >> User accounts may be registered.

    I don’t want to deal with too many splogs corrupting the database, so I just enabled user accounts.
    I used to use the below code in my wp-config to keep people from setting up spammy user accounts, but now that just says page not found.

    define( ‘BP_ACTIVATION_SLUG’, ‘customactivation’ );
    define( ‘BP_REGISTER_SLUG’, ‘customregister’ );
