This is a consequence of what the theme you have chosen is doing, it’s not a BP issue, you will need to get in and modify the styles or choose another theme – for some reason twentyfourteen thinks it a good idea to set .entry-content with a max-width: 475px; hmmmm!

Have you followed any basic troubleshooting? how do things look if you switch to a known good theme e.g any of the WP twenty…. series do you still have no friend button? have you plugin conflicts? disable all plugins to test.

‘Some themes’ is not a BP issue it’s a theme issue, BP developers develop BP in harmony with WP thus you always use the latest version of BP with the latest version of WP.

If you added new fields that are optional then you probably ought to have added them to a new group and not the ‘base’ group where all fields show on registration.

Point about asking about themes is that you must test with a known good theme to establish if this is a theme related issue, as far as premium themes go we can offer little support for them, and some will simply not work with BP due to their coding practises.

What themes, be specific, I can’t replicate an issue with stock WP themes but can see the issue with bp.org

Is this a clean install i.e are you testing with just WP & BP no additional plugins and using a theme that is known to work e.g twentythirteen/fourteen, are your permalink settings set to anything other than default, they must be set to day/month or similar options not ?p=123
