Login was never a widget, it was hardcoded to the sidebar in bp-default and still is so copy it from the sidebar.php in /bp-themes/bp-default/ to your themes sidebar.

In the first instance attempt to allow BP to use it’s theme compatibility now built into 1.7 by simply activating BP and your theme do not try and use template pack for the moment.

If you are running under theme compat then you shouldn’t need to call in the js file from legacy, if you are simply modifying template files and styling then files need to live in either /buddypress/ or /community/ with css in theme root; how have you got things configured?

Theme compat changes the way Ajax is handled, you’ll need to call the older bp-default ajax.php file. or are you actually allowing theme compat to run?

This has definitely come up, the text label jogs my memory.

It may make sense that one had change link on pre-registration if the value selected was being passed along with the registration and setup of the user_meta and if the admin setting allowed users to change the field value but as I doubt that’s in fact possible and fact Boone has said…[Read more]

This is an issue ticketed and patched, for the moment you can add:

show_admin_bar(true); to your functions.php in your theme.

This rings a bell, think it may have been discussed ( I certainly have a recollection of looking at this aspect of profile visibility and registration processes) before in some respect or another and there may already be a ticket raised.

I’m testing a patch to improve the messages.

More a UX one really. However the message is also incorrect in stating ‘only lowercase letters’ as uppercase are accepted.

Also the temp fix is probably better placed in bp-custom.php rather than functions.php so it is applicable to BP generically rather than by theme activated.

Not really a bug though. Just needs an improved message and check, open a trac ticket detailing issue.
