Oh wow yes that looks perfect! Will it work with 1.2 (currently running r2285) , just did a search in members/index.php for bp_has_members and it isn’t there, so i guess I should replace something else for 1.2?
Cheers, James
To do this kind of thing I use the ‘widget logic’ plugin, you can then add a login/register link in the sidebar and make it only visible to non logged in users with a code like this, theres loads of examples in the widget FAQ:
!is_user_logged_in()
hope that’s useful
There is another possible solution, the wp-PrettyPhoto plugin I use on my site automatically detects youtube, images, etc and pops them up in a nice ajax window.
It works everywhere on my site apart from the activity stream, not sure how to make it work inside there, it would be very cool if it did though!
Ahh thanks very much this is exactly what I was looking for, thanks! James.
Hey,
Figured this out, changed the default image in the functions.php on line 115 to my rotator script, no problems.
James
I think this is something that is really badly needed, it’s so important to help with the growth of any site.
The previous plugin doesnt seem to have been updated in some time and doesnt work with newer versions.
Thanks that did the trick!
Hey!
Since running the new 1.2 theme from the trunk this plugin no longer works, it works with the classic theme but I really miss it!
Currrently the ajax loader just hangs, any chance of an update on this plugin, I miss it!
Since using th new 1.2 beta theme I havnt had a single spam signup!
Hey,
Yes it works! I spent a while trying to uinstall it manually, but it’s actually much easier to use the plugin:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-prettyphoto/faq/
The css needs some cleaning up but otherwise it’s nice and works
Ahh yes good idea, I had looked at pretty photo but I didn’t try it in the end.
I will give it a go and let you know!
thanks, james
I tried adding that in but no luck, the syntax they suggest for simple links is:
Create a link element (<a href>)
For images :
</a><a href="image_big.jpg"><img src="image_small.jpg" alt=""/></a> Inline content <a href="#data">
For links:
href="http://www.example?iframe">This goes to iframe</a>
or
<a href="http://www.example">This goes to iframe</a>Forgot to include the name of the plugin!
This plugin did not work for me and many others, there was an error in 1.0.3 that stops you from selecting the name fields when setting up the plugin, It seemed to only effect certain people so may be worth a try. I will have to wait until the next version though.
Do we have any information for how many widget areas there are in this new theme?
Hmm I changed some stuff in Poedit and uploaded both files mo/po to bp-languages but it didn’t change anything, am I missing anything?
Wow it’s gorgeous, really amazing!
For web apps there is no need for multiple versions for different devices such as iPhone/Android/WebOS, that’s the main benefit of doing a web app over a native one.
Love the screen shots so far, looking great! Did you see the WP-Touch plugin for wordpress, might be some useful stuff you could use there.
Perhaps it owuld be best to work on something simple to begin with, a simple list like on Twitter.
I’m not entirely sure where status updates are stored, are they in a single table or spread accross multiple users, this could present a problem.
I will look in to it in the meantime.
Hey thanks for that, I got a bit more working but there seems to be references to it all over the place, I think I may just have to do a fresh install
This is a great idea, I use oDesk quite a bit and havnt been able to find any Buddypress developers on there so far, I’m not sure how you go about setting up a group.
Ahh thanks, thought I had made a mistake!
Wow this is an amazing plugin, simple and so effective!
I posted the CSS I used on mine here recently….
