In reply to: Member Privacy – Limiting to 'Buddies' Only?
My Privacy Component will handle this.
See this thread for details:

In reply to: BuddyPress Privacy Component: An UpdateJust a quick update. I’ve been waiting for BP v1.1 to come out so that I could tweak the Privacy Component code were needed. I plan on sending Andy my component next week. After the two of us have had some time to kick it around, I will release it for private alpha. That should be soon!
In reply to: Details About the New Theme ArchitectureIf you are creating a custom theme, make sure you read this Codex article first:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/upgrading-a-buddypress-1-0-theme-for-buddypress-1-1/
In reply to: New theme framework and exisiting WP themesThis is about as detailed of a step-by-step set of instructions you will find. The rest is up to trial and error, and experience!

In reply to: No output from the loop on BP1.1 admin blogSee my response in this thread: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/single-blog-post-display-issue-new-11-install#post-25249
oracleappscommunity has just created a ticket. You can add more to the ticket if you feel that it will help isolate the bug.
And I gave the answer in that same thread: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/buddypress-says-themes-are-missing-but-they-arent#post-25240
If you want to learn more about why the theme architecture was changed, you can read this forum sticky: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/details-about-the-new-theme-architecture
Or, read this blog post by Andy: https://buddypress.org/blog/news/the-new-buddypress-theme-architecture/
In reply to: Single blog post display issue – new 1.1 installIt will not get fixed if someone does not take the time to post a new ticket to Trac.
We cannot monitor the mention of all possible bugs in all forum threads. So, whenever you think you have discovered an issue, post in the proper forum first. After a little discussion, if it appears that it could very well be a bug, then create new ticket in Trac. Provide as much detail as you can so that the bug can be reproduced and isolated.
You log into Trac using the same login credentials as you do for the BuddyPress forums.
In reply to: BuddyPress says themes are missing, but they aren'tThere’s a Codex article:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/upgrading-a-buddypress-1-0-theme-for-buddypress-1-1/
Scroll down to the section entitled “I’ve used a WordPress theme for my blog with the default BuddyPress member themeâ€.

Now that’s service!
If the test works well, I suggest making a new post in your original thread (the one I linked to above).
What exactly are you trying to do?
The skeleton component is not a working plugin. It does not do anything of and by itself. It is a generic, bare-bones plugin template from which you can create your own, custom BuddyPress plugin.
To work with it, you not only need PHP-coding skills, but also a sufficient understanding of the inner workings of BuddyPress.
In reply to: Navigation broken after upgradeIf you plan on using the new theme architecture, you need to make sure that you have completely deleted the old member-theme subdirectory ( /bp-themes/).
In reply to: Extending Featured Member WidgetThanks for your comments and compliment.
I have not yet updated this plugin for the WPMU 2.8 series. There is a completely-overhauled widget API in 2.8. After I get the Privacy Component out the door, I will update this plugin. In the meantime, please describe in more detail the additional features you would like to see.
In reply to: BuddyPress v 1.1Let’s please keep this discussion to the public forums and not in private messaging. You will get better results with multiple people looking at this thread.
Okay, one more time, please answer these questions.
In reply to: Session_start() error with SI captcha enabledThis is an issue with the plugin, not BuddyPress. Make sure that you are using the most recent version of the plugin and that it is compatible with BP v1.1.
If you are using the most recent version, then contact the plugin developer and let them know about the error message.
Please read this thread from the developer about his plugin: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/si-captcha-for-wpmu-and-buddypress#post-24353
I’m moving this thread to the proper forum section, “Third Party Components & Plugins”.
In reply to: porting custom theme to 1.1Matt-
Did you see this Codex article?
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/upgrading-a-buddypress-1-0-theme-for-buddypress-1-1/
In reply to: Cannot Activate 1.1I’m glad that you’ve solved the problem!
I’m setting this thread to “resolved”.
In reply to: bp contents compatible with 1.1?The current version of bp-contents is not compatible with BuddyPress v1.1. I know that Burt was making some significant improvements to his plugin, waiting for v1.1 to come out before he released it.
I would suggest that you contact him via BuddyPress private messaging and see what he says about a timeline.
In reply to: BuddyPress & Maintenance Mode Plugin IssuesAs the originator of this post, you also have the power to close it out!
But before you do so, please contribute to the community and tell everyone what you did to resolve the issue. Congratulations!
In reply to: BuddyPress v 1.1Also, everyone reading this thread, please go to this thread and read my first post and follow the steps:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/trouble-upgrading?replies=1#post-24838
In reply to: Trouble Upgrading?I’m making this sticky for the time being.
In reply to: BuddyPress v 1.1@alexduvot-
As Andy said, please provide more details.
In reply to: BuddyPress & Maintenance Mode Plugin IssuesHum. Strange. But, your best bet is still to contact the plugin developer.
By the way, I have moved this thread to the “Third Party Components & Plugins” forum as it is more than likely not a BuddyPress issue but a plugin conflict.
In reply to: WP-Super-Cache QuestionI was posting a general, “Here’s an article on the basics on improving BP performance.” I have no idea what you may have already read. My mind-reading skills are rusty.
In reply to: BuddyPress & Maintenance Mode Plugin IssuesI have not heard of any issues, but then again, I have also not heard of anyone using that particular plugin with BuddyPress. Did it work with BP 1.0.3? Does the plugin even say that it will work with BuddyPress at all?
I suggest contacting the plugin developer and asking them when (or if) they plan to offer support for BP 1.1
In reply to: WP-Super-Cache QuestionPlease read this BP Codex article:
There are simply too many variables to give an iron-clad, standard approach that will work for every setup. As Simon states above, you need to test and experiment to see what tools and configurations work best given your specific setup.
