    Okay, per IRC dev chat, let’s use this thread for discussions on ideas to combat registration spam and other types of spam.

    If you want to continue using this theme, then your next step is to let the theme designer know about this issue. If their theme has not been updated to work with WPMU 2.9.2, that could be the issue.

    I’m guessing it is an issue with your theme customization. Try switching to the default BuddyPress theme. If everything works fine, then that is the case.

    First, which version of WP/MU and BuddyPress are you running?

    Second, does this happen with the default widgets that comes with WP and BP or with 3rd-party widgets only, or both?

    Within a plugin group, the Reviews tab does not display that proper ranking. See my plugin group for an example. It states, “Based on 1 rating” but then shows two reviews below: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/wordpress-hook-sniffer/reviews/

    MrMaz’s plugin is what you need.

    As Xevo says, yes.

    Well, that was going to be my guess, but I thought it was time to break out the old “please give us the information we need to make sense of your issue” request.

    +1 for moderator powers!

    This thread is now officially closed. Do not write or read anything below this post or aliens will attack. Well, that’s the closet method I can think of to close this thread at this time. ;)

    It looks like you also have the 3rd-party plugin bp-registration-options installed and activated. If you can log the dashboard as Site Admin, then go to the Plugins menu and deactivate the plugin bp-registration-options. If you cannot login to your site, then manually remove the bp-registration-options plugin from the /plugins/ directory.

    Either way, that should bring your site back up. You will then need to contact the plugin author and tell him/her about the error.

    NOTE: This thread should be moved to the support forum Third Party Components & Plugins

    This might already be listed in this very long thread. When visiting a group clicking on the members tab does not show the members. Also, as a Group Admin, clicking the “Manage Members” tab simply brings up a message that states “This group has no members.” But I know that it does as the Members tab shows “8”.

    Read my brief post for additional details on this issue.

    Many BuddyPress developers use the WordPress Plugin Repository to host their BP-based plugins. Just make sure that you include the tag “buddypress” as one of the tags in your plugins header section.

    It looks like you need to increase the allocated memory limit for PHP. Depending on the way your hosting company has set up the servers, you might be able to do this yourself. If you’re on a shared hosting package, they might not allow you to increase the memory limit.

    I suggest contacting technical support at Rackspace and tell them about the error message. Then ask them what is set in the server’s php.ini file for the value of the memory_limit directive. If Rackspace allows for this value to be overridden by Apache, then you can easily tell php to use more memory by adding this to the very top of your .htaccess file.

    ### Set PHP Memory Directive ###
    php_value memory_limit 60M

    As a final check, make sure that your site is running PHP5. Although WordPress does run under PHP 4, it also runs under PHP 5 and that is always better.

    If this is all foreign to you, then perhaps Rackspace will do it for you.

    I’m still not clear about your issue. Do you have any screenshots of what the homepage looks like when logged in as Site Admin and then what it looks like when logged out? After logging out, please clear your browser’s cookies and cache just to be absolutely certain you’re looking at a newly-refreshed page.

    All your members should be able to see the sitewide activity stream. That is what it’s there for. On the link you provided, I can see three activity items on the homepage.

    @suprmario-

    The screenshots that you linked to are normal. You mention that you are “getting a blank page … when trying to set up the forum.” Where is this blank page?

    BuddyPress uses an internal install of bbPress. It allows you to add forums to groups. It does not create a sitewide forum. To see the forum in a given group, the “Enable discussion forums” checkbox must be checked in each group’s admin panel.

    Trying to take this thread back to Boone’s original topic (and I think purpose), I plan on using the forum feature of each plugin’s group as the primary support area for each of my plugins–athough I may still offer a premium support model in another location. I’ll use the primary BP support forum Third Party Components & Plugins as a place to announce any new plugins, but I will do so only after I’ve set up a group for that plugin. That way, I can post a link to the plugin’s new group in my announcement thread.

    One issue that remains to be determined is how extracting the discussion of a given plugin to its own support forum will detract from its buzz. In the old model, since all discussion about a given plugin took place within the main (as in the only) support forums container, it was a great place to have your work stay forefront in people’s mind.

    All support related questions for the Featured Members Widget should now be made with the Featured Members Widget Group forum. You must first join the group to be able to post to the support forum. While your there, please consider making a donation to keep me alive!

    I’ll be fixing this widget up in the coming week. Hopefully, I can re-release by the end of the week.

    [blockquote]The Blog link is not supposed to go the the comment.. but rather the Blog post. I believe. Otherwise, why do you have the View link as well. So instead of fixing the Blog link to also go to the comment, which is what you just did.. I made the Blog link go to the actual Blog NOT the comment.[/blockquote]

    Actually, what I changed was the code that outputs the comment link–at least as it is supposed in BP’s codebase. The blog link ( the link to the post’s permalink ) is outputted on line 46 of the theme file /activity/entry.php.

    But, I believe your interpretation may be better. First, here’s a link to the overall blog, next view the actual comment.

    NOTE: Please ignore this post. The same behavior in outputitng codeblocks is still being observed. Refer to the Trac ticket if you’re having the OP’s issue

    Alright, we DJPaul’s help, I’ve just learned that what I used to use without issue in the old forums is no longer an option. So, I’ll redo my first post using the &#8216code&#8217 notation.

    Here’s the original codeblock:

    $comment_link = get_permalink( $comment->comment_post_ID ) . '#comment-' . $comment_id;
    $activity_action = sprintf( __( '%1$s commented on the blog post %2$s', 'buddypress' ), bp_core_get_userlink( $user_id ), 'comment_ID . '">' . $comment->post->post_title . '' );

    And here’s the corrected codeblock:

    $comment_link = get_permalink( $comment->comment_post_ID ) . '#comment-' . $comment_id;
    $activity_action = sprintf( __( '%1$s commented on the blog post %2$s', 'buddypress' ), bp_core_get_userlink( $user_id ), '' . $comment->post->post_title . '' );
