Please please put back ‘my activity’ content and ‘my posts’ content as its now completely empty, I cannot find any of the posts I used to look at and reference from my previous posts.

I have tried trawling on here but cannot find some of them.

I have a load of posts I used to look at based on my activity and ‘my posts’ list in my profile. I have lost everything and cannot even find the posts I used to look at my trawling these forums. I hope at least ‘my posts’ history will return to my profile on here :S

    Your site is great!

How do I edit the theme for my front page so that recent posts and recent articles show much like yours?

Also, is there any HTML or web editing tool you would specifically recommend for theme design, Dreamweaver or other?

    My site is http://site.chestermc.org

Im trying to create a dynamic front page much like yours, with articles, posts and maybe a cloud tag DIV.

@raynerlim36 – Thanks for the info (linking custom to default.css) this was what I was missing!

@Karin – Hey! thanks for the tip, I needed this in the end.

    Hi Guys.

I have coped daves example above and tried it on my site however it doesnt seem to work correctly. Must be something I have done but I cannot see what it is. Been through line by line. Tearing my hair out here.

    I replaced ‘Community’ with ‘Home’

I just cant see what it is. Could any of you just have a quick glimpse to give me some pointers. Thanks to David for the solution!

    Many Thanks.

PS – Im using BP default theme.

Where abouts in your index.php file did you place this?

My home page is a static homepage, does that matter?

    Hey Kelly.

I really like your Home layout. Im new to BuddyPress and im looking for the same kind of layout for my home page:

    Smooth Slider

    Recent Comments/Random Articles

    Posts

Which plugins (if used) did you use for Recent Comments & Random Articles?

Im using the default BP theme. Would I have to edit the theme to get that effect if is it possible to integrate with a plugin?

lastly, which theme did you start out with as a template?

You can see my site here http://site.chestermc.org

    Many Thanks!

Im getting the same error, any solution to this?

This is a fantastic plugin – could be the making of buddypress if finished. The fact that its aimed at users who are not tech savvy and doesnt move ‘the header’ is on to a winner.

    Hey.

Thanks for the update. This was what I was looking for as I couldnt find any docs/info that states clearly as you have above.

    Question.

If I change to WP instead of WPMU can users write posts on the blog via a simple ‘add post’ screen which, visually, still has the site header, navigation etc.

I ask because most users on my site would run a mile if they saw the back-end when they clicked ‘write post’. I think they would be overwhelmed, even though to use (for us), its really simple. My target audience is older people, I think to add a post they just want to see a box much like the ‘reply’ box im typing this message in right now. Any ideas?

    Right,

After some diggin, ‘Edit Profile’ works fine in Firefox but fails with 404 in IE8. Not tried any other browsers but this is an issue?

I have exactly the same requirement. I don’t see how the ‘Page Links To’ plugin would work for this problem.

    Did you ever solve this?

I have just come across BuddyPress and got it up and running, Im not a dev, I have exactly the same problem I want two other items to drop down under the ‘About’ page icon ‘Club Details, Our Team’, is there snippits or guides you could point me towards?

    Is this possible?

I have just installed BP 123 on WP MU and I have realised that my club website doesnt need multiple blogs, it just needs a single blog with users able to add posts, much like the BP test site?

Can this be done without me un-installing WP-MU and reinstalling plain WP?

Just found this, sorry for not digging further first. Apologies.

I have installed WP MU however my club site needs to be without the ‘Blogs Tab’ as I just want a single blog. Is it possible to disable (including all other references to crete blog’ for users) without having to reinstall using normal WP?

    Thanks.

Im having a very similar problem.

I have installed WordPress MU & Buddypress on a sub domain:

    http://site.mydomain.com

When I login I can click on ‘My Account’ if I click ‘Edit Profile’ I get a 404 error. Any of the other my account options such as change signature or change avatar works OK.

Also noticed that if using the Album+ plugin, when I click upload a picture it does the upload but then immediatly shows a 404.

Assume this is related in some guise to the subdomain. Maybe WordPress/Buddypress is best left on the root?

    Just installed:

    WordPress MU 292

    BuddyPress 123

    IIS6 (Hosted/Helm) PHP 5
