@rohan_kapoor – install same as your configurations; check bb-config.php – sample here http://wordpress.pastebin.com/1qAdu2q3 – after correcting your bb-config.php at root, you can re-run forum creation – BuddyPress > Forums Setup and click on re-install link. There should be 7 tables of bbPress generated in database wp_bb_forums, wp_bb_meta etc.…[Read more]

@TPeterson1055 whether you are on WPMU 2.9.2 or WP 3.0 multisite, just go to dashboard > Site/Super Admin > Themes and make the Theme you want available to everyone “Active” and save.

Are you using the bp-default theme? Check settings if you allow registrations. Also, do you have any kind of membership plugin which could interfere with registration.

Did you install bbPress via dashboard BuddyPress > Forums Set Up? That would be needed to get the forums page going.

mercime posted on the forum topic I'm no longer super admin. What happened? in the group How-To and Troubleshooting: 15 years, 10 months ago
@kevbow, this does deal with WP/MU/MS user capabilities. (backup database before trying anything below) 1 login your phpMyAdmin, select database and click to browse your xxx_users table (xxx=prefix used); check if there is “1” under ID column for the site/super admin 2 a. if there is, then go to xxxx_usermeta table; check under user_id column with […]

mercime posted on the forum topic Create a new wp-admin in the group Miscellaneous: 15 years, 10 months ago
@azreeceli – based on your post, you want to allow your user to post and want to customize the admin dashboard so the user won’t even know that their posting in the back-end by theming the back-end to look like the front-end of the site. That’s is do-able but a lot of work which = paid […]

Thanks @johnjamesjacoby
@arunbasillal good share. That’s what I’d do to make home page “future-proof” for BP 1.2 series – all bets are off for BP 1.3 🙂

You might just need to re-run Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and save to other than default. Also, BP 1.2.4.1 does not fully support WP 3.0 yet. Upcoming BP 1.3 will.

In line with the topic @anointed started a week++ ago, methinks that BP is facing a big mountain made of different WP/MU versions and making it work for all. In that line, might I suggest that Automattic allow @apeatling to concentrate on BuddyPress and be more informative about the direction of BuddyPress – less surprises the better […]

Ning defines blogs differently than how we at WordPress/BuddyPress do. A Ning site member can click on a link “Blog” and Ning’s post panel. You can try using Jet QuickPress – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jet-quickpress/ which adds “a “Quickpress” submenu you can find in bp admin bar > My Accounts > Blogs > QuickPress from which you can…
