@barlois Looks like you’re using the BP Default theme or child theme of BP Default, are you? Instructions all depend on the theme you’re using. It would be helpful to those who want to assist you if you provide more information about your installation as well.

@marcelyano Are you on single WP or WP Multisite with BP installed? It all depends on the theme you’re using.

1. @jeffp808 What announcement plugin are you using? Did you check if it’s been updated for or compatible with current BP version?

2. What theme are you using? If you change to BP Default theme, there’s a status update box in the group’s home page (activity) where members can post updates.

Haven’t used WAMP for a long while (XAMPP is tops) … You mentioned you have pretty permalinks working in WAMP. Was that before you activated BuddyPress or after? Btw, if you have SKYPE installed, you have to go through an extra step.

Backup all tables in site’s database and you’re fine. But also check if there’s a bp-custom.php file in wp-content/plugins/ in server, and back that up if there’s one.

You can remove the status update box in different ways. It just depends on whether you’re using a WordPress theme or BP Default child theme.

@valuser better to post this in BP Trac. Not sure that this would be added to core though. It’d be up to the devs. Just curious, BP Activity Plus plugin is not working for you?
