When I requested membership, it asked me to add a comment, rather than just returning the button disabled with “request sent”. … I also tried bp-default but that made no difference either.
@becskr per link I posted above, that’s the default behavior when membership request is done at the group’s page. And commenting is optional. Could it be…[Read more]

do i have to look somewhere else for it
Yes you will have to and it depends on what theme you are using.
Try ‘above-header’. To confirm, open up your theme’s functions.php file and search for:
register_nav_menu and you’ll find an array of menus listed for your multiple custom menus. On the same row as or beside ‘Above Header’, find the key used…[Read more] -

@mercime replied to the topic How to add sidebar widgets to my activity streams? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 8 months ago
@chase8705 What theme are you using? Is your default Page layout with sidebar or not?
BP generates content via your theme’s page.php file. So if your regular pages have widgets in sidebar, then those widgets and sidebar should show up in pages with BP components.

register.php and activate.php. The thing is that my recent changes don’t seem to stick.
– What kind of changes did you make? Styles or markups?
– Did you follow the directory structure of the parent BP Default theme in your child theme? i.e, activate.php and register.php should be in wp-content/themes/YOURCHILDTHEME/registration/ -
@mercime replied to the topic Buddypress Spam BOTS PLEASE HELP in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 12 years, 8 months ago

2. Disable group creation in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings > Groups.
3. Disable album creation/uploading of images in the plugin’s settings or are you referring to native WP image galleries?
You can enable group creation and registration after you’ve done some general housekeeping and…[Read more]

User registration is currently not allowed.
@theoptimystic If as you said in previous post that you enabled registration in Settings > General, then you might have a plugin that’s controlling your registration process.
