In reply to: Move group forum topic to different group
does this migration mean I’ll be moving my group forums to bbpress 2.0 or is it just a way to setup site wide forums?
@daneglerum The link is working for me. Try to access via another browser perhaps? Or clear browser cache…
The BP Group Forums are being merged into the bbPress plugin (Sitewide Forums) https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3598 So at this point, you would be well-advised to start with Sitewide Forums and follow instructions in link posted earlier.
In reply to: Best way to enable facebook login?There’s a premium facebook plugin which works with BP and mulitiste for sites I’ve handled http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-facebook-connect-plus/
Having said that, https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/socialauth-wp/ looks good as I see that the plugin dev is active in supporting the plugin. I don’t think the plugin provides support for BP as the plugin dev would have added the BuddyPress to the plugin tags. Best place to ask is at plugin’s forums https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/socialauth-wp
In reply to: Move group forum topic to different groupYou could use bbPress plugin’s innate function to move topics to the appropriate forum if you convert Group Forums to the bbPress plugin forums. If you’d like to give it a try, back up database and server files, then see how to do it https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-site-administration/migrating-from-old-forums-to-bbpress-2/
In reply to: Multi-Site, multi-network questionsThe problem is that I don’t want a user to be able to join any network they want.
They can’t if the respective site admins do not allow open registration or if the site is set up for invitation-only membership. The user-base in NOT shared between sites for that plugin by default.
is there a way for a person to set their avatar once on one network and not have to set it again when they become a user on the other network?
Since the userbase is per site only, i.e., not shared across the network as I mentioned above, then by default no, the user has to upload avatar again in the next site.
Having said that, there may be ways around it. The best place to ask is at the plugin dev’s forums as @sbrajesh knows his code better than anybody else 🙂
In reply to: User galleries and forums.Check if BP Album has shortcode/s you can insert into posts so whatever you uploaded in Album can be used in your post. The premium BP Gallery plugin has this feature for albums or single image shortcode. It’s possible that the beta BP Media plugin has the same feature as well.

@paintermommy k8peterson Create custom menu and use the menu widget for sidebar.
In reply to: [Resolved] Join Group button gone@crewpass This is an old topic which has been resolved sometime ago. You’ve posted at https://buddypress.org/support/topic/join-group-button-missing-from-groups-directory/#post-146019 so please continue there. Closing this thread.
In reply to: Activity update templateCheck out http://buddydev.com/buddypress/blog-categories-for-groups-plugin/ where you can set the category “surf” for that group
In reply to: How to disable comment?If you created page template for the home page by copying your theme’s page.php, just remove the comment tag in the page template. Or, edit page (home page template) and disable discussions/comments in edit panel (below the text area)
In reply to: [Resolved] User blogs?@johnjf What I’m getting from you is that you just want the logged-in members to be able to publish “blog posts” only and not create nor publish in “blog sites” (requires multisite/network).
You can implement that via the regular WP way -> Setting > General > new users as Contributors (you’d have to approve and publish every post submitted) or as Authors (can publish post right away). Then they can add posts in backend and you just add default Recent Posts Widget to sidebar to show latest posts.
Or, you don’t have to change the Settings in wp-admin and just add a post form in the frontend of the site for logged-in users via plugin with DIY customization http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-simple-front-end-post/ or via another plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-user-frontend/
In reply to: [Resolved] User login takes user to blank pageoops… I had deleted the user… install bushing emoticon here

In reply to: What’s the best way to add social sign-in@rogercoathup Done.
As for removing their plugin, if they break any in https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/about/guidelines/ then the plugin can be reported to plugins@wordpress.org
In reply to: What’s the best way to add social sign-inGood spots @rogercoathup and @hnla
Tagged their forum posts “modlook” in WP forums. We could use that “modlook” tag here at BP forums and at bbPress forums 🙂
EDIT – WP moderators have deleted the two posts.
In reply to: BP Multi NetworkBest place to ask is at Networks+ plugin developer’s forums. They do provide support for their premium plugin.
In reply to: All links are broken after the install@ollie7695 looks like you’ve fixed the issue. Also, please do not post/provide admin login info in this forum.

In reply to: Forum/FAQ search? Tab hiding?@clemensrettich What raminjan said. Also, check out the BuddyPress Codex pages for documentation like https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/how-to-set-up-your-main-site-navigation-using-the-built-in-wordpress-menus/ Then you could also add special BP menus using https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-profile-menu/
In reply to: Move bp default theme menu to the leftYour stylesheet looks fine. Might need to add !important
`#navigation #nav {
float: left;
margin: 40px 0 0 20px !important;
}`
If that doesn’t work, there might be something else interfering, so need your Site urleIn reply to: my user avatar’s not showing upWe are aware of the issue. Read on for more info https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4571
