In reply to: Theme issue – Page alignment
@mumbaipav you’re welcome. Sure you can use a different sidebar. For example you have a sidebar-mumbaipav.php, you copy that file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php then add the codes I posted above at the very TOP and at the very BOTTOM of that new file and upload to server.
@chouf1 site is private, but I took a screenshot of the group forum topic I made for you as well as the screenshot of the config settings. I post code usually e.g.
[ sourcecode lang=”css” ] the code [ /sourcecode ]
or [ php ] the code [ /php ]
P.S. had to put the spacings between brackets or else it won’t show up here.In reply to: Templates@blg002 based on the link you gave, you should be looking at wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-themes/ for the forums with tables or in wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/ with table-less forums for the single-topic template files
For further assistance, https://bbpress.org/forums/
@chouf1 I use Syntax HIghlighter Evolved as well and it’s working well in my BP 1.6.1 installation. I think it is a plugin conflict with other BuddyPress-component-dependent plugins which I see are in your installation but not in my install – e.g. the group documents plugin and the buddy-bbpress support topic plugin – which you should deactivate to see if issue is corrected.
In reply to: [Resolved] Cannot Upload Avatar== . I really don’t know if this is a BuddyPress issue or a Theme issue, but I sense the former. ==
@pescholar there’s a way to settle this. Change to bp-default theme and see if issue is resolved.
In reply to: Theme issue – Page alignmentB. COPY your theme’s sidebar.php file and Save As > sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php file and at the very TOP of the file above other code, add this:
`‘;
`Then at the very BOTTOM of the same file below all other code, add this:
``
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/snapwire/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Final note: Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.
In reply to: Theme issue – Page alignment@mumbaipav Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you will be only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make the BP templates compatible with your theme.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`<div id="post-” >`Save file.
In reply to: BP Capability@peppermintmochapatty if you are using this theme, https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/first-lego-league-official , you cannot use the second method (creating xxx-buddypress.php) for Step 3 of the BP Compatibility process. Because of the HTML structure of your theme, you’d need to revise 16 template files from the 6 BP folders transferred to your theme’s folder in server.
If you still want to proceed with the instruction, let me know.
Delete Avatar works for WP3.4.1/BP 1.6.1 with bp-default or child theme of bp-default for me. Could very well be a plugin conflict. Have you tried deactivating some plugins at a time to see which is possible culprit? Single/multisite?
In reply to: ERROR: Your reply cannot be created at this time.@haraldo88 either a theme issue or a plugin conflict because I don’t recall any issues with this in the days of BP 1.5+. Change to bp-default theme and see if error is corrected. If not, deactivate plugins except BuddyPress then check if you can reply to forum post.
B. CREATE A BLANK sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php file and at the very TOP of the file, add this:
``
Save file.

``Not sure if the breadcrumbs will work here, but if there’s an error, delete the last line (breadcrumbs) above.
Save file.
In reply to: Theme issue – Page alignment== I would like to have both option. Keep sidebar in right side when required or remove it completely ==
@mumbaipav looking over your files, you’d have to make a decision, it’s either
A. Create only two files (which I can post later) and upload to snapwire theme folder in server for either
1. All BP templates with sidebar, or
2. All BP templates no sidebarOR
B. Revise 16 BP Template files for some BP templates with sidebar and some with no sidebar (full-width)
Btw, should you opt for full-width either way, post code of full-width page in pastebin.com
In reply to: Videos Not Embedding== but I’m not able to embed that same video within a status update or Forum on BuddyPress. ==
@stuffwelike there’s a plugin for that, download from trunk https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-links/forum/topic/buddypress-1-6-support-and-the-future/
In reply to: IE 8 Avatar upload Issue@luk-gaming First, do provide a throw-away username and password to your site as you are asking for support here.
Just tested uploading and cropping an avatar with IE8 in my test installation. The upload and crop work just fine.
To troubleshoot, deactivate plugins except BuddyPress and BP Template Pack plugin then check if issue is resolved. If that doesn’t solve it, deactivate BP Template Pack plugin and change theme to bp-default theme then check if issue is resolved. .
@maindreas please confirm whether this is the PulsePress theme you’re using per code posted above https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/pulsepress
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.6.1@zillabuggs best place to get support for BP Gallery is with plugin dev @sbrajesh at BuddyDev.com forums
In reply to: The comment option don’t work…There’s no soccer ball here. Please start your own topic and give more information about your installation – WP/BP versions, theme used, plugins used, Windows or Linux server, localhost or shared hosting or VPS and the like. Also, have you tried changing to bp-default theme and deactivating plugins first.
In reply to: Buddypress Group Error 404@philip2 need more information. WP/BP versions? Have you tried changing to bp-default theme to see if issue is resolved?
In reply to: Would like to hire a developerIn reply to: [Resolved] bp-default theme, profile to activity@hkcharlie no problem. So your issue is resolved then?
In reply to: Member problem after 1.61@piiyo Is your Salutation updated to the latest version that’s compatible with latest BP?
In reply to: Problems following attempted upgrade.@bruce-hazard glad you resolved this on your own. Yes, in any new WP/BP installation, bp-default theme is best theme to use while check out if everything’s functioning as expected
In reply to: Altering the activity stream page@kristian86 I’ve altered the title of this topic from “Altering the activity stream” to “Altering the activity stream page” per your post above. Major difference.
If you’re using a child theme of the bp-default theme, copy https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.6.1/bp-themes/bp-default/activity/index.php , make revisions and upload file into wp-content/themes/yourchildthemefolder/activity/ folder. Some amount of HTML/CSS/PHP required.
@tvanes glad you resolved the issue and thanks for letting us know what the resolution was.
