@pkmcilroy there are AJAX/JS conflicts with BP and Canvas Theme https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/woo-canvas-child-theme-customization-and-ajax/ Near the end of the topic, someone posted a link to a premium Canvas child theme which has BP compatibility. I will only suggest that if you’re going to purchase that child theme, wait till it’s been updated for BP 1.6 which will be coming out pretty soon.
Check if someone placed the code I posted above in your wp-config.php file instead of the bp-custom.php file
You’re welcome. Thanks for getting back and confirming the breadcrumb issue.
In reply to: Forum posts problem in groups@dreamlarp basic troubleshooting is changing to bp-default theme. I suggest that you double-check that all the BP components are in working order using bp-default theme before installing/activating a third-party theme.
Could also be a plugin issue, one that has not been updated for latest BP version. There are a variety of factors which could trip up a smooth installation. First thing is change to bp-default theme and work from there.
In reply to: Help needed in buddypressI would suggest posting at WP support forums https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/buddypress-activity-plus
In reply to: BuddyPress in subdomainYou can change Settings > Privacy option so that one of the blogs – like your dev site – will not be indexed.
In reply to: Sidebar in Footer in Wootheme@sparklyscotty I presume that you looked if your theme was listed in the page I linked to above? https://buddypress.org/community/groups/installing-buddypress/forum/topic/alligning-buddypress-with-swatch-theme/
In reply to: Buddypress and phpBB forums@beggers best place to ask is at the WordPress.org forums and to search plugins there. There was a plugin that “bridged” the two (WP/phpBB) way back.
Right now I see the following
– https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/phpbb-single-sign-on/
– https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/phpbb-recent-topics/
– https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/phpbb== Rather than linking to ‘http://site.com/members/username/’ the way they should, they instead link to ‘http://site.com/username/’. ==
@fixanddestroy that happens when you or someone else added
`define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES’, true );`
in your bp-custom.phpIn reply to: Create Forum buttonCreate a forum for the bbPress plugin via wp-admin menu Forums
In reply to: Drop down options defaults to ”0”@12sp This is an issue you should bring to your theme developer’s forums. As far as I know, if you’re using Suffusion theme with BuddyPress, you also need to install a plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/suffusion-buddypress-pack/
Strange. What about regular members? Can they see forums page?
Also, since you’re not using Group Forums, disable Discussion Forums in menu BuddyPress > Components. Go back to your sitewide forums page and check if it’s working properly.
In reply to: Group Hierarchy not workingClosing this. Topic has already been posted the plugin’s forums https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-group-hierarchy/forum/topic/group-organizer-not-listing-in-my-order/
In reply to: Explain the @mentionBP/WP versions? What theme are you using?
In reply to: Sidebar in Footer in Wootheme1. What Woo theme are you using? We have compiled a list of “template-packed” themes near bottom of https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
2. correct naming for the files needed for 2nd option of theme compatibility
buddypress-header.php should be header-buddypress.php
and
buddypress-sidebar.php should be sidebar-buddypress.php
Otherwise your changes will be implemented at all.@idanny08 Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you will only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make the BP templates compatible with your theme.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your wisdom of life theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add the code from http://pastebin.com/pTiuAruq
Save file.
B. CREATE A NEW BLANK FILE named sidebar-buddypress.php
Open up the blank sidebar-buddypress.php file and add the code from http://pastebin.com/1FyKJ5eK
Save file.
C. Upload header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to your theme folder in server wp-content/themes/wisdom-of-life/ in the same directory where your regular header.php and sidebar.php files are
D. Copy the style modifications for some BP elements https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste those at the bottom of your theme’s stylesheet, then adjust to taste.
Final note: not sure whether the breadcrumbs or theme options will work in the BP pages.
In reply to: Forum posts problem in groups@dreamlarp BP Docs shouldn’t affect the forums at all. If you change to bp-default theme, can you see your posts.
@ade9ja BuddyPress may be installed in your site, but it’s not activated at all (per source view), Also, not quite sure how you’re going to make a subdomain out of trends.com.ng/community … or you probably meant community.trends.com
In reply to: All user uploads1. BP Media plugin beta – Free – all media – http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/ do read docs before installing
– aka BP Album for images only2. BP Gallery plugin – Premium – all media – http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-gallery/
3. BuddyPress Portfolio – Free – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-portfolio/ – add screenshot of each project
Glad you resolved this on your own. For others, add “buddypress” without the quotes to tag in stylesheet.
`Tag: buddypress, etc. etc. etc.`
@idanny08 open up the header.php of your wisdom theme, copy all, paste in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated URI here. Do the same for your theme’s index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php
Initial scan shows that you might just need to create only two files to align HTML structure of template files. But we need the information requested above to help you.
In reply to: Running logNone at this time i.e., nothing released to the public at any rate.
@michaeljdornan it’s unfortunate that sbrajesh’s Join Blog Widget for WPMS doesn’t work in your WP MultiNetwork /BP MultiNetwork installation. Following options are available: you’d have to code one or hire a developer to do so for you or wait for a developer to release a free plugin just like the Join Blog Widget for your set up.
In reply to: Forum posts problem in groupsBP/WP versions? Are you using the bp-default theme or another theme?
You’re welcome @timetraveler – Marking this as resolved.
