Ole!
In reply to: After disabled buddypress, my site crashed.
But if you do, always mention to “backup database first” otherwise ….In reply to: No groups and no friendsAs Super Admin, you should be able to create groups anytime. Go to Groups Directory and beside the title of the page, you’ll find the “create groups” button. Or just add “create” in browser e.g. http://yoursite.com/groups/create
As for friends, you mean under your profile avatar, there’s no “Friends” tab/link?
In reply to: page editor missing “visual”Page editor is a WP issue. Deactivate all plugins and change to Twenty Eleven theme then work from there to determine which changed your WP page editor.
In reply to: After disabled buddypress, my site crashed.What theme were you using before you deactivated BP and BP template pack? Go to server and rename wp-content/themes/YourActiveTheme to something like wp-content/themes/YourActiveTheme-xxx so that active theme will revert to WP default theme
In reply to: Changes the Nomenclature for GroupsUse a language translation file to customize BuddyPress labels, messages, and URL slugs in one go –> https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
In reply to: WOO Canvas (child theme) Customization and AjaxWhatever happened to Canvas BuddyPress child theme? I recall reading that it was the most downloaded theme in Woo or something like that.
== I was hoping I could do the “header-buddypress.php” method ==
Sorry, per initial scan of your files, you need to use the first method for theme compatibility – changing 16 BP template files. If you still want to proceed let me know.
As for your concern about updates, come around BP 1.7 more or less, you won’t need to worry about this. We’d most probably will post some steps to upgrade the template files until them. Best thing to do is to backup DB and server files regularly.
In reply to: Small issue with Sidebar in wp-chatter theme.B. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
``
with the following for registration/register.php:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you’ve just revised to your server wp-content/themes/wp-chatter/
D. Copy the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten at https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/ and paste to your theme’s stylesheet. Adjust to taste.
In reply to: Small issue with Sidebar in wp-chatter theme.Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you need to use the first option, i.e., change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your wp-chatter theme folder in server during the compatibility process.
If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.
Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.
A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
``with
`<div class="post clearfix maincontent" style="margin:0;" id="post-“>`Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
…
` or `
..
` to `
// Titles Of Respective BP Page Templates //
`, just watch out when you do this in the /activity/index.php page.
Save files.
Change the default tab opened when looking at a user’s profile (default is activity) –> https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/
That is a theme issue, so you should contact theme authors.
An alternative would be to use a WP theme and install the BP Template Pack plugin then go through Appearance > BP compatibility process. We’ve “template-packed” a number of WP themes, check out if that WP theme is listed near end of https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/In reply to: [Resolved] css not showing image with child themesite uri?
In reply to: [Resolved] css not showing image with child theme== I added a new div to header.php called ropeheader. ==
Where before-inside-around-after within the header.php did you add div#ropeheader and its background image?In reply to: 404 Error On ‘Favorite’ Button@djwinner Good for you
In reply to: Forums redirecting to homepage@aronprins Cool. What’s the link?
Following link shows you the steps of the BP template pack – compatibility process. Near the bottom of the link, you’ll find the list of WP theme’s we’ve “template-packed” so far. Check if your WP theme is listed there. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
The Status Update Form shows up in the Activity Stream directory, in the member’s activity page and in the group’s activity page. You can remove the call for post-form.php from activity/index.php, members/single/activity.php and groups/single/activity.php files and then open up activity/post-form.php and delete all code inside it.
In reply to: Bug in Buddypress.org forum== I received a note that said “It looks like you already said that.” ==
I’ve seen this happen when you post large blocks of code with at certain times. What I do is to post code at pastebin.com and post the generated URI here along with my text and it’s all good.In reply to: Fix Buddypress Template for my theme – Insignia@neodjandre Open up your theme’s header.php file, copy all, paste in pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URI here. Then do the same for your theme’s index.php, page.php, sidebar.php and footer.php files.
== i then tried to install the global forums ==
Please clarify, are you referring to the Sitewide Forums aka bbPress plugin 2.+ or are you referring to the Global Forums plugin by BuddyDev.com? In either case to gain back access to your wp-admin, rename the bbpress or global-forums folders via FTP/FileManage/cpanel to something like wp-content/plugins/bbpress-xxx or wp-content/plugins/global-forums-xxxIn reply to: [Resolved] In the Beginning…Some advice Please.Set which blog ID BuddyPress will run on if not on main site – add following to your bp-custom.php file:
`define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, $blog_id );`
where you replace $blog_id with the blog ID number of subdomain/subdirectory site of your multisite installation – https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/changing-internal-configuration-settings/As for themes – you can use a WordPress theme then install the BP Template Pack plugin and go through the BP Compatiblity process. Check if your WP theme has been “template-packed” in the list near bottom of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
Do you have Sitewide and Group Forums installed or just Sitewide Forums only?
