Please do not install BuddyPress Links, it’s not compatible with BP 1.5
The version compatible with BP 1.5 is now premium https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-links/forum/topic/buddypress-1-5-support/In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?== I tried to create a group name under profile setting, But it can’t allow me to create one ==
First, in your new test site, do not activate any plugin except BuddyPress; and only use the bp-default theme.
Just so we’re on the same page, when you say you created a “group name”, do you mean you clicked on the button “Add New Group”? Only the fields you create in the base group will show up in the registration form.
Test: click on “Add New Field” as seen here https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#bp-xprofiles then add a field with description and save. Log out. Then clear cache and go to registration page.
== Your active theme does not include bbPress template files. Your forums are using the default styling included with bbPress. ==
Don’t worry about this message, you’re covered already.
== I can not add groups or access forums. … Is anyone there? Hello? ==
– Please start a new topic about the groups issue, this topic was about the theme compatibility process.
– Know also that we are all volunteers here and need time out as well.
In reply to: creating child theme in BP@emaarkhan if you have a WordPress theme (or a child theme thereof), install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP Compatibility process. In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?This plugin works in thousands of sites. Re-reading your previous posts, have you checked whether you can add profile fields in BuddyPress > Profiles in base group? Have you contacted your host’s tech support and/or checked your forums re any issues about BuddyPress installations?
Minor changes only to the 16 files you already revised to make full width pages:
At the top replace
``
with
``at the bottom of all 16 files including registration/register.php, delete
“
save files and you’re good to go.In reply to: Problem editing xprofile fieldsIn reply to: fake user signup== how can they sign up to my database without filling in the recaptcha or confirming their mail? ==
There is a possibility that your old BP1.2.7/WP3.2 installation has been hacked. I would start backing up DB and server files to your hard drive. See https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_My_site_was_hacked== but for some reason the search field always brings me to the homepage instead of search results. ==
Yes we are aware of this and the issue will be resolved soon.In reply to: Search not working on the BuddyPress siteThis is a known issue and will be addressed soon. You could use google in the meantime. Thank you for your patience.
In reply to: [Resolved] Is this the correct Registration Page?In reply to: [Resolved] Two problems: One serious, one wierd!What theme were you using? Was issue resolved when you changed to bp-default theme?
== When i uncheck the boxes the right side of content gets cut short. It needs about 12-15px more. ==
That’s why I suggested in my previous post in D.) to copy styles used in Twenty Ten theme to correct the width of the BP elements. Look specifically for styles targetting #object-nav and #subnav
In reply to: Search Buddypress Support ForumsThe search issue is known and will be addressed soon. Thank you all for your patience.

All users should upgrade BP ASAP.@faithcoach – One issue at a time, please. We’ll address the layout of the BP template files first.
Per http://faithteam.org/faithnotes/members and other BP pages which shows unstyled BP elements ==> Enable the CSS and JS of BuddyPress in dashboard menu Appearance > BP Compatibility, i.e., uncheck the two boxes to disable CSS and JS from BP and Save.
As for the Group Forums, you need to enable it first for each group. see https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/4/#forums-faqs
In reply to: [Resolved] Two problems: One serious, one wierd!WP/BP versions? Did you recently update BP/WP?
Looks more like a theme issue. Change to bp-default theme and check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: How to separate sub topicsDo post this at the bbPress.org forums.
Log in using same username and password.Doesn’t look like the full width template because there’s still the “ near the bottom of the code your pasted.
In reply to: Does theme 2011 work with BuddyPress?@tucsonsam see how to make Twenty Eleven compatible with BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-eleven-bp-1-5/
In reply to: BP alignment: Colorway@roguedjinni were you able to resolve this or do you still need assistance?
@foundsheepgmailcom you need to paste the source code of your theme’s full page template and post the generated URI here.
You’re welcome
Marking this as resolved.Check the content of your wp-content/themes/wp-davinci-prem/ folder it should at least contain the 6 BP folders I mentioned in my previous post – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration
If one or more are absent, something went awry with the BP compatibility process. You should download a zipped copy of BP to your hard drive; unzip the folder, then open up the unzipped folder and open the bp-default theme folder in buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/ and upload the the missing BP folder/s note above to your theme folder in server – wp-content/themes/wp-davinci-prem/
In reply to: admin avatar appears on users profileB. At the bottom of the same 16 files, replace:
`
`
with the following (except for registration/register.php):
``
with the following for registration/register.php:
`jQuery(document).ready( function() {
if ( jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).length && !jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).hasClass(‘show’) )
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).toggle();
jQuery( ‘input#signup_with_blog’ ).click( function() {
jQuery(‘div#blog-details’).fadeOut().toggle();
});
});`
Save files.
C. Upload the 6 BP folders containing the 16 files you revised up to your server wp-content/themes/thestyle/
D. You might also want to check out the style modifications made in BP Twenty Ten for reference especially with removing the bullets and bringing in the extended width of the BP elements. https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-ten-bp-1-5/3/
E. If you want to go the extra mile – In each of 16 files, you might want to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `
.. .
` or `
…
` to:
`//the respective page titles of the 16 template files//
`
Just watch out when you do this in the /activity/index.php page template.
