In reply to: ”Load More” doesn’t work in my theme “facepress”
WP/BP versions? URI to your site or facepress theme demo? If you’ve disabled BP Template Pack JS/AJAX in Appearance > BP Compatibility, then correct it by unchecking Disable BP Template Pack JS/AJAX
In reply to: Cannot Post in Group ForumsWP/BP versions? Single WP or Multisite (BP installed in main site or subsite)? Theme used? Plugins used? Have you enabled Group Forums in Group’s admin settings? Have you done basic troubleshooting by deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and changing to bp-default theme?
In reply to: Comments on activity not working@dawnna @abhayjeet WP/BP versions? Theme used? Plugins used? Single WP or Multisite? Error logs?
In reply to: Point BP to an existing database@piccollopete we don’t quite know from what application/software you are migrating from in the first place. I can only guess from the first post that you’re migrating from another forum software. The easier route then is to import data/users from that software into WordPress with bbPress plugin, after which you can install BuddyPress which works with bbPress plugin.
Do post at bbPress.org to check whether an import script has been created for your specific forum software.
You should post your question at http://buddydev.com/buddypress/show-buddypress-communitysitewide-activity-on-user-profile/ @sbrajesh is quite active in supporting all his plugins.
== I’m not sure what it was but I just wiped the whole install and started over. ==

In reply to: Buddypress forum to bbPress forum@bender001 JJJ, the one who created the patch above, is the lead developer for both BP and bbPress. So I doubt anyone else would go through the not inconsiderable work of importing BP group forums to bbPress plugin forums without jumping through the hoops and then making sure that what’s imported would be compatible with upcoming new versions of BP and bbPress.
Having said that, post at bbPress.org forums and check if anyone has successfully done so.
@benstacey
– “On the secondary site i’m using Angus by epicthemes” == so you installed and activated BP Template Pack plugin to make your WP theme, Angus, compatible with BP. Can you post to pastebin.com the full code of your angus/groups/create.php file?
– Have you tried changing to bp-default theme, and check if issue is corrected.
– Re plugins – deactivate BP-specific plugins sitewide and Options Framework v1.0 for the BuddyPress site and see if issue is corrected.@roxor If you mean 10 WP installations with their own respective DB’s then no.
Alternatives:
1. If it’s just the posts, then you can set up RSS feeds for the 10 in your WP/BP installation in one WP install without BuddyPress so that the links to aggregated posts will show up in a page or over a number of pages.
2. You could also create a single Network out of one of the 10 WP installs, create the subsites, install Domain Mapping plugin, then install BuddyPress plugin, then import other WP sites one by one as subsites into the multisite installation. https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network and https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/
There is one instance of BP for a multisite installation, so as @aces pointed above, you can enable multiblog so that you don’t have to navigate to main site to post in activity or forums, etc.
3. You could also create a Multi-Network out of one of the 10 WP installs and have multiple instances of BuddyPress with BP Social Networks, import remaining 9 WP sites as a network into the multi-network installation. The multiple instances of BuddyPress in this case are separate i.e., don’t overlap activities, memberships, groups, etc. http://wpmututorials.com/news/new-features/multiple-buddypress-social-networks/
In reply to: Buddypress forum to bbPress forumComing up sometime soon https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3598 so if you have numerous postings already in your group forums, you might want to use group forums first and wait for the official way to safely move group forums (BP internal bbPress) to sitewide forums (bbPress the plugin)
== my sister has had to re do a passwords more then 10 times, every time she updates it here she has to re do it again at word press ==
Nope. You only need to create an account at WP.org and you can use the same username and password here and at bbPress, among others.== we are going to kickapps were we know support is live ==
Know that we are all volunteers living in different time zones. You have the freedom to choose whatever platform meets your needs even if you have to pay for it.Thank you for your feedback. Good luck.
To make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress, you need to install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin and then go through Appearance > BP Compatibility https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
Also, please check out this info before installing BuddyPress – https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#system-server

In reply to: Internet Exploreer issue and Create Account issue@shawn38 @crystal-phoenix just to add that for very long blocks of code, use pastebin.com and paste generated URI here

I checked your with IE simulator 6 to 9 online at http://netrenderer.com/index.php and I don’t see the vertical navigation. Know that bp-default theme has a responsive layout wherein the main navigation does go vertical when viewed at smaller widths which should be taken into consideration.
In reply to: Straight to profile information???If BuddyPress is activated and if you have BP-compatible theme, then default landing page when you click on member’s link is activity. You can add code so that default landing page for member’s link is something else. See how to. Btw, what do you mean by “dashboard”? wp-admin?
In reply to: [Resolved] Change default tab on user pages?1. Create a bp-custom.php file https://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/bp-custom-php/
2. Change the default tab opened when looking at a user’s profile (default is activity), insert the following :
`define( ‘BP_DEFAULT_COMPONENT’, ‘profile’ ); `

In any case, just so we’re on the same page and to move this discussion forward, open up your theme’s updated header.php, copy code, and paste code in pastebin.com, click submit, then post the generated pastebin.com URI here. Do the same for your theme’s updated sidebar.php, footer.php, index.php and page.php
In reply to: Internet Exploreer issue and Create Account issue>> You also can’t post complete code. It won’t allow PHP tags.
@shawn38 you can post code here. Just surround your code with (`) backticks, the symbol between the parenthesesIn reply to: Attachments to forum postsYou can attach images to Sitewide Forums (bbPress plugin) via https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gd-bbpress-attachments/
As for attachments for Group Forums, old plugin has not been updated for BP 1.5
In reply to: Problem with menu + custom menu won’t workMy BuddyPress, a bp-default child theme, has not been updated for version BP 1.5
Compare the header.php of the My BuddyPress” theme to that of bp-default theme’s header.php where the old links in My BuddyPress have not been updated, among other things.
In reply to: Brand Newbie Question re: Reviews w/ BuddyPressYou could start off with https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-reviews/ then have to add on the codes for the additional functions that you require, or hire a developer to do so.
In reply to: Forums not appearingWP/BP versions? I’ve seen this happen with an old custom theme which was not updated for latest WP/BP versions. Have you done basic troubleshooting like changing to bp-default theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?
In reply to: I need Help on Arras WordPress Theme With BuddyPress@videogamerznet no problem. Where did you download your Arras theme – site URL? There are different sites which do that and I want to know which version you have activated.
