In reply to: 1.5 Child Theme Not Working
BP 1.5 now enqueues all stylesheets in functions.php. Therefore, to create your child theme, either remove the enqueueing by creating a new functions.php in child theme folder and adding this:
`<?php
if ( !function_exists( ‘bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles’ ) ) :
function bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles() {}
endif;
?>`You could also opt to enqueue your child theme’s style.css by overriding bp-default’s pluggable function bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles with your own
`if ( !function_exists( ‘bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles’ ) ) :
function bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles() {
// Bump this when changes are made to bust cache
$version = ‘20110930’;
// Register our main stylesheet
wp_register_style( ‘mychildtheme-style’, get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . ‘/_inc/css/screen.css’, array(), $version );
// Enqueue our main stylesheet
wp_enqueue_style( ‘mychildtheme-style’ );
}
}
add_action( ‘wp_print_styles’, ‘bp_dtheme_enqueue_styles’ );
endif; `If you’ve named your stylesheet, screen.css, then change /_inc/css/default.css above to /_inc/css/screen.css above
In reply to: How do you shut off buddpress admin bar in multisiteWP/BP versions?
In reply to: Space between Navbar and SubnavYou can use negative margin for the #subnav to decrease space between #subnav and #object-nav.
e.g. `div#subnav { margin-top: -20px; }` — adjust as neededIn reply to: How do you shut off buddpress admin bar in multisiteIn reply to: Space between Navbar and Subnav@kkradel if you used BP template pack plugin, check out the selectors used in bp.css file as a guide to start you off – https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/bp-template-pack/tags/1.1.4/bp.css
side note: nope, your site url didn’t show up in update

In reply to: Sidebar now located way down the pages@idahoannie @kkradel after installing BP Template Pack plugin, you need to go through the process including imposing your active WP theme’s HTML structure onto the BP template files transferred into your WP theme’s folder in server.

https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/If you require further assistance:
– open up your theme’s page.php file, select all and copy
– go to pastebin.com and paste the code, click on submit button
– copy the generated pastebin.com url and post here.In reply to: Space between Navbar and SubnavYou’re probably referring to div#object-nav that’s wrapped within div#item-nav and div#subnav which is wrapped within div#item-body below div#item-nav
Firebug, a Firefox add-on, can help you identify selectors to get your style going. For further assistance, site url would be necessary.
In reply to: removing group auto joinCheers
In reply to: removing group auto join@tommyhoang “headers already sent error” usually means that there’s space before the opening “ tags required in functions.php just like it is in bp-custom.php
What the code above does is to replace the text string “You will auto join this group when you start a new topic.” to something else like ‘Feel free to reply.’ You could also leave the replacement text as blank by not adding text and just space between ‘ ‘
In reply to: Problems with reply button on activity pageAre you using a custom theme, child theme or bp-default theme?
In reply to: How to have 2 or more avatars ?You’d pretty much have to create a plugin that will allow your user/s to have up to 3 avatars each. Are you trying to provide a means for user/s to have different avatars respectively for membership in groups, forums, and in activity?
In reply to: Buddypress admin menu on bottom of page1. Make sure you did not check “__ Disable BP Template Pack CSS” otherwise bp.css won’t be enqueued
2. Make sure that you have “ immediately before “ in header.php so that the adminbar default styles are rendered on screen.

In reply to: removing group auto join@tommyhoang use language file to change the text or add this to your functions.php file
`class Tommys_Translation_Mangler {
function filter_gettext($translation, $text, $domain) {
$translations = &get_translations_for_domain( $domain );
if ( $text == ‘You will auto join this group when you reply to this topic.’ ) {
return $translations->translate( ‘Feel free to reply.’ );
}
return $translation;
}
}
add_filter(‘gettext’, array(‘Tommys_Translation_Mangler’, ‘filter_gettext’), 10, 4);`Reference: http://blog.ftwr.co.uk/archives/2010/01/02/mangling-strings-for-fun-and-profit/
Backup DB. Could still be lurking elsewhere like in BP tables. Export SQL, open up with text editor and search for jaws.my
In reply to: Headers sent by error messageIn reply to: Change inline css members activityI found this `
` and I’m pretty sure that the BP Template Pack plugin devs did not hardcode that width and float style there.Open up permalink.php file which you’ll find at
wp-content/themes/yourWPthemefolder/members/single/activity/permalink.php
and remove `style=”width: 675px; float: left;” `The default state is open. So I have to ask, why close the forum topic in the first place?
In reply to: Multisite compatibility== Is’it possible to do that or have I to install a new WP instance with BP some where else ==
I always think it’s more secure to install a new and separate instance of WP/BP elsewhere. You could install the multinetwork plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-multi-network/ where BP installation in one network won’t show up in the other networks …. though this method is overkill for one BP install.
== could this file that causes the problem?because i didnt see anything that is weird here..==
You’re right. Your .htaccess file is fine.== before i build that site on the server right now which is (ladykashandkrissy.com), i have built the first version on the server jaws.my first.==
You’re missing some steps required in moving your install from jaws.my to ladykashandkrissy.com as evidenced in remaining redirects to your old server.
