In reply to: Update a BuddyPress 1.0.3 plugin to the last version
== I have an old plugin that someone developped for my project ==
Your post title says BP 1.0.3 plugin. So that “old plugin” you’re referring is BuddyPress 1.0.3, right? Or is the “old plugin” a BP-compatible plugin which needs updating to be compatible with BuddyPress 1.2.8 / WordPress 3.1?
If you need to hire somebody, post here: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-jobs-board/
If you want to explore upgrading the installation yourself:
– backup database and server files
– deactivate all plugins and change theme to default theme
– version upgrades of BP/WPMU and later BP WPMS
– download BP versions from here: https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/tags
– download WordPress WPMU/WP from here: https://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/
(MU versions in last table of webpage)Better yet, if that install has not been used at all, drop tables and delete .htaccess and wp-config (after DB backup of course), and start from scratch – WP 3.1 and BP 1.2.8
@goldbrick screenshot link not working, same error message.
@goldbrick that screenshot link goes to “Unable to connect. Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wallowit.com.”
In reply to: BuddyPress Admin Bar Gone1. If you’re using the bp-default theme, the wp_footer call is already in the theme.
2. Recommend that you create a child theme of bp-default theme so that your modifications won’t get overwritten when you upgrade BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/building-a-buddypress-child-theme/
EDIT –
3. BP Sliding login panel. If I’m not mistaken, that’s supposed to replace the BP Admin Bar in the front end. Deactivate that plugin and you’ll see the BP Admin Bar.@goldbrick put a backtick before and after your code because it’s not rendering well in this forum – aside from wrecking the layout

EDIT – “Unable to connect. Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at http://www.sportzmonkey.com
Tried opening the site in Chrome and Safari, the site just doesn’t open.In reply to: BuddyPress Admin Bar Gone@JamieWade adding “ to a theme’s footer.php file just before closing shouldn’t bring out a long list of pages in front end (you need “ or pages_menu etc. for that to happen).
What theme are you using?
Will be checking it out.

Still not clear. If you’ve added template codes to “call” Pages in specific areas of the site, then you should see the Pages whether you’re admin or not, unless you’ve added a conditional statement `if (is_super_admin)` in front of the code … did you?
It would help if you posted a link to a screenshot of what you see as Super Admin or Site Admin along with site URL or another screenshot of what’s happened next. What theme are you using?

Hi Mercime
Thanks for the reply, i did post over at buddypress but did not get a response so i thought i would try here.
By Footer pages i mean i have created pages in wordpress called terms, privacy, about us, blog etc. and they oonly show up in the footer area of the site when i am logged in as admin, if you where to view the site now in the footer there is just a copywrite text in the footer.
Even if i type the URL of the page into the browser the page does not display it comes up with a 404 error. If i then log in as admin and do the same the page will display?
I hope i have explained it ok.
Thanks
JayIn reply to: Beta Testers WantedWhy not also set up a testuser account and post username and password here. It’ll be so much easier for us
After your testing phase is done, you can delete the account.Something like this https://buddypress.org/community/groups/limit-groups-per-user/
Edit – Download latest version 1.1 from plugin dev @sbrajesh‘s site
Download – http://buddydev.com/plugins/limit-groups-per-user/
Info – http://buddydev.com/buddypress/limit-groups-per-user-plugin-for-buddypress/@pjnu ok my bad, I had a de facto plugin in all multisite installs leftover from WPMU days (still effective today) which solved my requirements https://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/13675#post-79787
In reply to: Problem with using multiuser@imon275 Before installing BuddyPress see requirements including WordPress configuration https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/
You should create a network (go multisite) https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network and resolve any issues at WP.org multisite forum https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite first.
Add this at the bottom of your style.css file
`div.post-content {
margin-left: 0px;
}`In reply to: Changing default new user role to “Contributor” ?In reply to: [Resolved] Can’t Edit Forum Tags After PostedYou’re welcome.
In reply to: Changed server, lost avatarsCheck if the hosting company has correctly installed GD library. If you went to GoDaddy, this is one of the issues you should resolve per topics I saw at WP.org. Contact hosting tech support wherever you’re hosted.
In reply to: my-groups and create-link tab load wronglyWhat theme are you using? Change to bp-default theme, keep all BP/WP plugins deactivated except BuddyPres. If that doesn’t solve it …

Made an enhancement request and they “fixed” it as posted near bottom of page https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2281

In reply to: [Resolved] deleting page from the main menuEasiest way is to install “Exclude Pages from Navigation” plugin or use “Add All Nav Links to BP Adminbar” plugin
You might mean https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/demo-data-creator/ good up to WP 3.0.5.
This doesn’t however create groups, blogs, etc.
Definitely for a test install. The last time I used this some months ago, when I deactivated/deleted/uninstalled the plugin, it took away all users etc as I think it was also mentioned in plugin site before.
