In reply to: Only Admin Account can Login to Buddypress
Disable all WP and BP plugins except BuddyPress, change theme to bp default theme. Then check login by users. If users can log in, activate plugins one by one and activate custom theme and check which is the culprit.
In reply to: Facebook-like photo/video/link posting pluginBP Gallery plugin (paid) allows uploading media – images, audio, and/or video – in Activity Stream by individual user in addition to regular uploading in album section of BP site.
In reply to: BuddyPress Privacy: Can we get it in core?can’t understand why he won’t let anyone see the code unless it never existed. He has held up the development of a working privacy component for over a year now.
@joshua_d Move on. No use griping over what was. Look forward to what can be done.In reply to: bbpress/buddypressYou need to set up the forums
https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-buddypress-components/#forums-setupMore info needed, like WP/BP versions? Have you deactivated all plugins (which includes all BP and WP plugins, MU plugins and bp-custom.php) except BuddyPress and change theme to bp-default, cleared cache and checked if cropping works?
@parufito add code to your active theme’s functions.php file. If your theme doesn’t have one, create functions.php and add the code between “, save and upload to your active theme.
In reply to: can this be done?See the comment of Ulrech in this page for his site structure.
In reply to: Bum Install?#1. I see that you’ve installed WP 3.1 RC3. Unless you’re developing and/or interesting in debugging, you should install stable version of WP 3.0.4 which is what you’ll get in download here https://wordpress.org/download/. I recommend reinstall from scratch – clean database.
#2. Re Gallery plugin you installed – PhotoSmash Gallery plugin. I haven’t used the plugin and do not know whether it’s compatible with BuddyPress in terms of allowing users to upload media without going to the backend/dashboard i.e. uploading images in posts. There are free and paid Gallery plugins which are compatible with BuddyPress.

#4. I suggest changing your admin username and password. Anyone can come in and mess around in your site – though I appreciate the pass since I saw right away what WP version you’re using and Gallery plugin you installed
In reply to: How to change the name of a widget in the sidebar?Line 96 in bp-core-widets.php
https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/tags/1.2.7/bp-core/bp-core-widgets.php#L96@butimnoexpert I use the very same method to “embed” a page editable in dashbaord into home page or other pages.
Cheers.In reply to: WP 3.0.4 Multisite Breaks BP Forum=== Upgraded to 3.0.4, re-enabled multisite, now i have a problem. If I turn off multisite the forum works just fine. Once I turn it on ===
You do not need to nor should you “disable” then “re-enable multisite” to upgrade your multisite installation. Have you tried to re-run forum installation I mentioned in previous post?
In reply to: Fishbook HelpSomewhere in your edits, you’ve deleted “ from footer.php. Add it back to just above closing “ tag, save and upload.
In reply to: WP 3.0.4 Multisite Breaks BP Forum=== Do I need to make any changes to my bb-config.php file to run multisite? ===
Just to be clear, you had a single WP install with BuddyPress and created internal bbPress forums i.e. via BuddyPress forums set up, before upgrading to WP 3.0.4 and then creating a network/going multisite? Try to re-run Forum Setup. Backup database and server files, then go to dashboard > BuddyPress menu > Forums Setup > Use an existing bbPress installation – and in next panel point to your bb-config.php then click on “Complete Installation”
In reply to: Ask about error: Must always login with admin roleThere’s something getting lost in translation. Could you rephrase your question?
@bluelounge, have you tried getting support from the plugin author of Easy Albums?

In reply to: WP 3.0.4 Multisite Breaks BP Forum=== When I enable multisite, the BP forum as well as other forms in BP results in white screen when submitted. ==
The htaccess rules are correct for WP multisite subdirectory structure and the wp-config.php looks good to go. Have you tried re-run of Settings > Permalinks to “jog” the system, clear caches and check if the link works?
In reply to: Child Theme Question from Super Noob@jgagnon you should start a new thread instead of appending to an 8-month-old one
One thought is that you might have not uploaded the style.css file to the correct folder
https://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development#Theme_StylesheetIn reply to: BP Gallery/Media – Which plugin do people recommend?1. BP Gallery generates own tables in database in addition to interacting with other BP- and user- tables. Beyond that and for more specifics, you gotta ask@sbrajesh at Buddydev.com

Users can post images, audio and videos uploaded via BP Gallery in e.g. main site into respective blogs within a multisite installation using BP Gallery shortcodes.2. “if a user wants to add an image that would be associated with a post that was created by the admin“
Not exactly sure about what you meant. If Admin created a post, no other user role can edit that post unless it was a Super/Site Admin or a co-Admin of the site.In reply to: Profile page redirecting to home– Did you install and activate any plugin before this happened? Deactivate it.
– Did you install and activate any theme before this happened? Change to bp-default.
– Contact your webhost if they made any changes in server.
– Re-run Settings > Permalinks again.In reply to: How to add KEY WORDS at my SITEMAP!!!You mean this one – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-sitemap-generator/
Edit – BP pages could in all probabilty by indexed via Google Sitemaps XML in upcoming BP 1.3 version as BP components will be rendered in Pages then.
In reply to: Group avatar size.Simplest and easiest way to change size of group avatar in header area is by targetting it using style.css
`body.groups div#item-header-avatar,
body.groups div#item-header-avatar img {
width: 75px;
height: 75px;
}`
adjust to taste.In reply to: How to add KEY WORDS at my SITEMAP!!!… what exactly has sitemap keywords got to do with BuddyPress? Are you referring to a BP sitemaps plugin perchance?
In reply to: BP Gallery/Media – Which plugin do people recommend?I’ve used @sbrajesh‘s BP Gallery plugin since alpha stage February 2010 last year to current BP 1.0.4 in different sites and can say that it’s an outstanding plugin. You’ve read the cool current features of BP Gallery — images, audio and video uploading; able to set options for individual and/or group albums; multiple file uploading; embedding external videos; easy to style; etc. etc. etc — they are all working since beta. The plugin’s extensible, well-written and I give it 5-stars.
Will probably add some more kudos later on
Cheers.
