In reply to: The name of the database for bbPress
@doollard something’s getting lost in translation.
– By “database wp11”, do you mean your database prefix is wp11?
– WP/BP versions? bb-config.php is old school BP internal forums. Are you trying upgrade to latest WP/BP versions?
– Confused with “buddypress install the database bp77” and with a few lines after “but buddypress in the database wp11”, please explain what you mean@rajeev-jain As you know, the Administrator should be able to see everything in the site. Have you gone through any basic troubleshooting like deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress? Did you make any revisions to BuddyPress core files?
In reply to: [BUG] Request Group Membership@cts_ae WP/BP versions? New install or upgraded to BP 1.8? What theme are you using? Plugins installed?
In reply to: A few questions – TranslattionsIn reply to: [Resolved] BP default theme deleted?@jloc14 just to be clear, you should have these files https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.8/bp-themes/bp-default inside the bp-default theme folder in your server. If you don’t see all those folders and files, then re-upload BuddyPress manually, i.e., via s/FTP.
If you have child theme of the BP Default theme, then you should activate the child theme, not the BP Default theme.
In reply to: User Registration Not WorkingDeactivate BuddyPress and other plugins. Can your members register now?
In reply to: [Resolved] BP default theme deleted?@jloc14 so do you see the bp-default theme folder in server now? If so, you’re good to go
In reply to: Back up@blastblast see how https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+create+a+development+site+wordpress
Testing/upgrading WP or plugins in a dev (development) site is less stressful than testing/upgrading WP or plugins on production/live site especially when you have a BP site π
@stueynet what plugins do you have installed? Did you create your site pre-BP 1.7 as in do you have BP Template Pack activated?
In reply to: Back up@blastblast Updating to the latest versions of WP and BP is always recommended. New versions include bug fixes and improvements to core.
Having said that, I recommend that you create/install a dev site which closely mirrors your production site. You could test all plugins and theme vs upgrades on dev site first before updating anything on the production site.

In reply to: What is going on?!@jloc14 patience please. just happened to answer your question in older thread. closing this duplicate https://buddypress.org/support/topic/bp-default-theme-deleted/
In reply to: [Resolved] BP default theme deleted?@jloc14 Delete BuddyPress plugin. Then re-install BuddyPress plugin. Upload your child theme folder in wp-content/themes/ folder.
P.S. A child theme needs a parent theme, in this case the BuddyPress Default theme. Please do not delete it again.
In reply to: Dashboard panels@bloodveil there’s no plugin for above specs at this time. Btw, by dashboard, do you mean example.com/wp-admin right?
In reply to: Remove Sidebars Completelywant all BuddyPress pages to be displayed without sidebars.

Have you checked out https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ ? After creating a new Page for Forums, did you add the shortcode https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/ ?
In reply to: Artisteer Buddypress theme compatibilityI have run through the bp-Compatibility steps and on step three where I have to adjust the layout through FTP connectivity, I tried method 1 and 2 without pass.
@sizons Step 3, method 1 and method 2 … suspiciously sounds very very familiar and used in relation to the BP Template Pack – BP Compatibility process used up to BP 1.6.10.
If this is the case, please deactivate BP Template Pack plugin and remove the 6 BP Template folders from your Artisteer theme folder in server. With BP 1.7 and above, BP is compatible with nearly all WP themes without lifting a finger. Now check how the BP pages are showing up in your theme.
If you did not use the BP Template Pack plugin, then I will exit stage left and leave you with @hnla π Before I do, read up on hnla’s excellent article on BP Theme Compatibility https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/theme-development/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/ and if you want to customize your theme further, check out r-a-y’s awesome article https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/theme-development/template-hierarchy/

In reply to: Adding members who are not registered@carlavanloon either something’s getting lost in translation or you’re asking for custom plugin which functions as you mentioned above. There’s no plugin that I know of which provides what you want.
In reply to: Users canβt register through BuddyPress home page@kathrynananda please create a new topic. In order to help you troubleshoot the issue, include information about your installation https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
