In reply to: Features List for Testing
@scotm possibly middle of next week to weekend.
In reply to: [Resolved] Attn: (help needed!)@djpaul @39images I’ve removed my name from the topic which I forgot to do earlier 🙂
From what I’ve seen so far, Artisteer themes are a tricky lot to try to template-pack. Some succeed, others don’t. Since you’re just starting your development, I suggest downloading BP 1.7 beta 1 https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/ where you won’t need the BP Template Pack plugin unless Artisteer has rewritten WP regular templating system.
P.S. If you’ve already gone through the Appearance > BP Compatibility process, you’d have to deactivate BP Template Pack plugin, then remove the 6 BP folders transferred to your Artisteer theme folder in server to allow BP 1.7 theme compatibility to work.
In reply to: [Resolved] Attn: (help needed!)What theme are you using? We might have template-packed it already.
Also, if you’ve only just begun developing the site, I recommend using BP 1.7 beta 1 instead = download beta at link https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/
Deactivate BP Template pack plugin and delete the 6 BuddyPress folders transferred to your theme’s folder in server namely: activity, blogs, forums, groups, members, registeration
In reply to: Forum Component Not Set UpGo to Settings > BuddyPress > Components and uncheck Discussion Forums. Read this https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: Buddies Community Theme jQuery Not WorkingCan only surmise that the theme author could have deregistered default WP jquery and loaded his own version or could be another reason.
To try to resolve possible issues yourself, install and activate both:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-check/ – go through this first

I successfully deleted my BuddyPress tables in my database so that i could re-install 1.7Beta1
@km-schafer-1 You shouldn’t have deleted the BuddyPress tables in your DB. You could just uploaded the BP 1.7 beta 1 folder to your server, that’s it.
Or, via wp-admin, deleted BuddyPress in plugins panel and then uploaded the zip file of BP 1.7 beta 1.
Reminder: always backup DB and server files whenever you upgrade. A few minutes doing that saves a lot of grief if something goes awry.
In reply to: New to buddypress, clean setup which bbpress?Or, if you want tot test the latest beta versions:
download BuddyPress 1.7 beta 1 – https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/
download bbPress 2.3 beta 2 – https://bbpress.org/blog/2013/02/bbpress-2-3-beta-2/In reply to: [Resolved] Need some help for a customization.:)Shame though; the point of 1.7 compatibility ought to have been to remove the need for template pack once and for all not to allow it to survive
@hnla Agreed. Thing is, if the two/three -buddypress.php files don’t work because of all those customized conditional sidebars (it has happened), the other alternative is to hardcode the HTML structure this time by checking out the source code of a chosen layout and apply it to all of the 17 BP template files.
Patience, patience, patience 🙂
In reply to: [Resolved] Need some help for a customization.:)@hnla this is a scenario which the BP Template Pack plugin could be used. Initial scan shows that two/three -buddypress.php files need to be created for compatibility.
@creativepixels if you’re game, post the source codes of your theme’s header.php, sidebar.php, index.php and footer.php files as well. Let’s give it one more try 🙂
@saukgp try http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/ cool thing is that the posts created by the user will be shown in user’s BP profile page as well.
In reply to: Features List for Testing@djpaul Thank you. I will contact you for sure 🙂
In reply to: Forums: Can't create topic error message@djpaul I have updated the forums info last Jan 3, 2013 using bbPress plugin only -> see forums component listed at https://codex.buddypress.org/component/forums/ onto the page https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ Just need to complete Group Forums only section – have some questions there.
In reply to: [Resolved] Need some help for a customization.:)@creativepixels before reinstalling everything, open your theme’s page.php file, copy all code and paste to pastebin.com, click submit and post the generated URL here. I want to see if the author used default WP templates or rewrote the templating system.
In reply to: Logging in directed me to bbPressWe are aware of the issue. The person in charge is busy working on the upcoming BP 1.7. Thank you for your patience.
In reply to: Features List for Testing@scotm I’ve started on a checklist to test features of BuddyPress Components for BP 1.7 to be published in BP Codex, got 3 more components to go. It’s looking to be a long list 🙂 If you’d like to contribute to the Messaging, Profile Fields or other component you’ve started on, please feel free to do so 🙂
In reply to: [Resolved] Need some help for a customization.:)@creativepixels There’s still hope. I overlooked the fact that you already went through the Appearance > BP Compatibility process. So here’s what you’ll do:
– Deactivate BP template pack plugin
– Remove the 6 BuddyPress folders transferred to your supreme theme’s folder in wp-content/themes/supreme-theme folder namely: /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration.
– Clear cache and check your BP pages now.
In reply to: Does this feature exist?You need a coder/developer rather than a designer (unless that person codes as well) to implement the different walls.
In reply to: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 90 seconds@hnla @musadiqmarhaban I just checked and found out that Custom Community submitted new version of the theme for review. It’s already approved but may take a week before it’s pushed live to extend. You can download the zip file linked on this page https://themes.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/11253
In reply to: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 90 seconds@hnla yes we know the theme 🙂 Sent DM to Sven about it with link to this page. Right now that site is in maintenance mode. Curious what was on the front page and crashing your browser plus plugins used in the site.
In reply to: Theme incompatibility..HELP!No projected date. It will happen when it’s ready.
In reply to: Basic Margin and Sidebar adjustment@smitch-l this is a CSS only issue. In other words, you’ll just need to add the revised widths in your child theme’s style.css file. The elements below control the width of the sidebar and content area:
div#content .padder {
margin-right: 225px;
}
div#sidebar {
margin-left: -226px;
width: 224px;
}If, for example, you want to increase sidebar area to 350px, you add the following to your child theme’s style.css file
div#content .padder {
margin-right: 351px !important;
}
div#sidebar {
margin-left: -352px !important;
width: 350px;
}In reply to: Registration Page not workingWhat theme are you using?: This is a custom theme we built
Based on the available page you have in your site for logged out users — the registration page, BuddyPress is not even activated at all.
