@akgt plugins are tagged “buddypress” and/or “bbpress” in WP plugins repo. Just watch out for the compatibility of the plugins with WP/BP/bbP versions
BuddyPress – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=buddypress
bbPress – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=bbPressIn reply to: Testing BP 1.7b1 and having some issuesWhat theme are you using? If you change to BP Default theme, is the issue corrected?
In reply to: how to make forum groups@plugonline just so that we’re on the same page, do you have a new installation?
– If so, did you follow the updated instructions at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
– Did you change to the BP default theme just to check if you can create a post and select the group forum?In reply to: Error Message โ locked out of my website ๐I just updated the newest version of BuddyPress.
@plussizebirth
– Do you mean the stable BP 1.6.4 or BP 1.7 beta 1?
– Where
– How did you update BP, via FTP or dashboard plugin update link?
– Is that the complete error or did you miss some lines before or after that
– Rename the BuddyPress plugin folder in server to e.g.wp-content/plugins-buddypressproblem in order to access your dashboardIn reply to: Theme Integration@hnla what you said. Most probably postponed for BP 1.8
In reply to: Forums Directory Not Showing Up@homeschoolmommy For your new installation, please follow instructions for installing forums at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: Displaying topic info!!!!!@manojhl123 could you be more specific about what topic info? Group Forums or Sitewide Forums? bbPress has topics widget you can add to sidebar. WordPress/BuddyPress/bbPress versions?
In reply to: Why profile info becomes link?Look up “Removing the links automatically created in a memberโs profile” https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/customizing/bp-custom-php/
In reply to: Theme Integration@hnla muchas Thank you for finding the ticket. I used the wrong search terms ๐
In reply to: help with buddyPress Group homeI just double checked, it has the same formatting as the others that I changed. I canโt figure this out.
Are you sure you uploaded the changes to server? I had to ask. I see no other plugin in source which could affect rendering of /groups/single/home.php
In reply to: BuddyPress Compatible@patrykos360 Deleted some elements and divs – groups/index.php which is for the Groups Directory Page http://pastebin.com/sU6CXdJN
If that doesn’t work, then as Hugo mentioned above you should also consider contacting theme author and point to the instructions I posted in other site. Won’t blame you if you ditched BuddyPress but I don’t see you as one who quits ๐
Sidenote: BP 1.7 beta renders BP templates similar to how bbPress does it. Curious, have you checked if forum topics are duplicated if you use Continuum as well?
In reply to: permalinks break links@nicholas-ritson Windows server? Did you add index.php to the permalink structure for pretty permalinks? It won’t work with BuddyPress. Use the first example posted in https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Permalinks_without_mod_rewrite or contact webhost for assistance
In reply to: help with buddyPress Group homeFirst, the only group you’ve created is http://quantumtwingames.com/groups/fans-quantumtwingames/
Second, looks like you didn’t template-pack or apply the HTML structure changes you made in your other BP template files to /groups/single/home.php
In reply to: Theme Integration@hnla I saw that guide created by @djpaul but can’t find it now as well. There is this one by @modemlooper https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-compatibility/
At this point however, you can’t adjust HTML structure per component in BP 1.7 if you use legacy templates loaded (can’t find the ticket where Roger/you/me/etc posted about this matter) or maybe I overlooked something, I have tested (not fully though) and used BP Template Pack plugin on a couple of themes in BP 1.7 trunk.
In reply to: Full forum URL String in activity feed@dasped First, glad you resolved the first issue pm your own ๐
Second, by default you should as keymaster and even moderator, edit, close, stick, merge, trash or spam forum posts.
– Which kind of forum are you encountering the problem in? Group or Sitewide Forums?
– Did you follow the updated instructions for setting up Group/Sitewide Forums at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/In reply to: [Resolved] I really need help with forumsFor eample make the listing of the forums use another font, size and color?
@royh32 this is more of a CSS for bbPress forums issue. bbPress does not add any font-family styles so your forum inherits the font-family, size and color used in your theme. If you still want your forums to use another font-family, font-size or color you can add something like the following at the bottom of your theme’s style.css file:
`#bbpress {
color: #000;
font-family: ‘Times Roman’, Times, serif;
font-size: 14px;
}`
adjust to taste.In reply to: BuddyPress Compatiblebut it can not be a reason the theme continum, because the previous version of the BP nothing has doubled
It’s a theme issue. Continuum author has rewritten the way the default WordPress templates are scripted. Change to Twenty Twelve, and you’ll see that there’s no group duplication.
In reply to: BuddyPress Compatible>> ok is probably the default theme โbpโ
>> http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/2480/fireshotscreencapture.png
>> but as you can see, then are repeatedThat is not the BuddyPress Default theme. Looks like the same continuum theme earlier. Change to BP Default theme in Appearance > Themes and check if issue is the same or not because there are no double groups in my test installations.
In reply to: problem with avatars on site-bpthumb.jpg
Are you using the Salutation theme by any chance? I recall reading that it generated its own avatars thereby causing that issue.
In reply to: [Resolved] Forums not working@madfatter if this is a new installation please follow instructions at https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
In reply to: How to Modify Admin Bar + activation email not goinghow to modify the admin bar
@ebizdude That’s too wide an area to cover. What specifically do you want to change in the admin bar?
– If it’s WordPress-related, please post at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
– If it’s related to BuddyPress links to profile menus https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-custom-profile-menu/also when people registerting the activation email is not coming. how does one recticfy that
You have to find out through some tests whether email is not being sent from your installation or whether the email just goes to user’s spam folder.
In reply to: [Resolved] Typo in Profile Fields@km-schafer-1 thank you. The issue was corrected in BP 1.7 beta 1 available for download https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/
In reply to: Activity, Members and Groups buttons stopped working@mikewelsh either someone removed the get_header and get_footer calls in all the BP template files or your theme has rewritten the template functions. Open up your theme’s page.php file, copy all code, paste in pastebin.com, click submit, and post the generated URL here. Do the same for your theme’s header.php, sidebar.php, index.php and footer.php files.
I would have recommended that you wait for BP 1.7 for easy integration of theme and BP template files but you have a growing community already per my initial scan.
In reply to: Using BuddyPressIn reply to: problem with avatars on site@sienteastu You have the lastest WP/BP versions on a new or upgraded multisite installation? Did you by any chance, added ENABLE_MULTIBLOG to your wp-config.php file? Also, check out https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4252
