In reply to: The user password isn't created
I have a problem with creating users. After succesfully register the password is sometimes missing
Please clarify. Do you mean you create users via wp-admin > Users Add New or via /register page?
In reply to: Check my loading speed please.Getting complaints about the site being very slow to load from different parts of the world.
It’s loading fast for me. It will all depend on the connection. Could be there are still some who are still using dial-up connections in some parts of the world I imagine. Check out your site speed https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/
In reply to: Tradr.com – Serving Small BusinessHi there. I like the concept. How’s it going so far?
The layout is very nice except in the page title areas of the BP and bbP pages where the title and some elements of the layout are flush left or right i.e., no padding/margin. e.g. http://tradr.com/groups/report-a-bug/forum/topic/home-button-riderect/ and also http://tradr.com/shops/create/
In reply to: Send Welcome EmailI think the problem is that they never get a sent an email with their account details (username and password) when they join.
You mean they don’t receive an activation email? They should already know what their username and password is because that’s required when you register.
Have you checked whether it’s your site that’s not sending the activation email or whether it’s their email service provider (gmail, yahoo, hotmail, aol, etc) that’s blocking your email and/or sending it to user’s spam folder?
In reply to: [Resolved] Login /Logout LocationI’d like to throw out the “groups-loop.php” sidebars forum groups and so on,
when removed <php getsidebars, widgets removed@patrykos360 just to clarify, do you want to remove the sidebar only for all the groups components including the group forums? Or for all BP components?
In reply to: is this forum broken?@fpats looks like it’s working for you. Btw, is that happening in all browsers?
@patrykos360 Great. Marking this topic as resolved.
@shanebp Thank you. Fortunately, bp template pack no longer needed come BP 1.7 🙂
Haven’t completed transferring many more bp template pack tutorials for posterity there yet 🙂@patrykos360 please read the instructions carefully 😀
RE header-buddypress.php you must post the code I gave at the BOTTOM, below all other code. What you did is paste the code at the TOP of file which is a no-no
RE sidebar-buddypress.php the second code must be posted at the BOTTOM, below ALL OTHER code. What I see is that you placed it before the closing !– end sidebarSubnav and !– end sidebar which is incorrect.
In reply to: Subdomains for groupsThat’s the only way.
In reply to: Subdomains for groupsStill has no idea how to create these subdomains
Before you can use Group Blogs plugin, you need to create a network first (go multisite) https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
@patrykos360 it doesn’t take long, just the time to do the process. More than that though, remembering to post the link to the tutorial 🙂 http://wp.me/p1I84P-4p
Re Memory Error – do not touch the wp-settings.php file. Here’s a codex page which has info about increasing memory limits
In reply to: friend request button not wworking@ajim808 It’s working in current WP/BP versions. Have you tried re-uploading BuddyPress plugin manually e.g. via s/FTP? Have you tried deactivating plugins except BuddyPress to see if it’s a plugin conflict?
In reply to: Username prediction/autocomplete not working for PMsHave you tried to isolate what’s causing the issue like changing to BP Default theme?
In reply to: Activity PlusPlease also post at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/buddypress-activity-plus
In reply to: Subscriber dashboard link in WP/BP top barIn reply to: Members groupsPlease clarify, you want to remove the groups component? You can do that in Settings > BuddyPress > Components, uncheck “User Groups”, click Save and you’re good to go.
In reply to: why is buddy press so backwards?@gavpedz maybe something’s getting lost in translation, but you can post activity status updates in the home page of the Group (activity by default) you are already a member of. If you mean otherwise, please explain further.
@miskostanisic Is this a single WP site or a multisite installation? Are WP/BP installed at domain root e.g. http://example.com/ or in subdirectory?
In reply to: Activity message showing wrong valueIs this a new installation? If not, when did the changes show up? What plugins do you have installed? If you change to BP Default theme, does the same behavior show up?
@remixines I will check it later today and post changes here for set up when sidebar widgets are activated.
In reply to: Adding a sidebar on Activity posts@jimmygibbs you’d have to copy over the HTML structure from your other BP template files e.g. /members/index.php onto the /members/single/activity/permalink.php file which handles the individual activities.
In reply to: Buddypress admin page not foundThank you Chouf1
Paste the code used by developer to “create a menu that was only accessible once the member has logged in. He managed to do that however he only had the activity, members, forum and groups page and no profile or messages , friend requests etc now. ”
What would it take to make it like this: http://mysite.com/members/joebloggs/
@transmission install WordPress and BP at domain root http://example.com/ so that member’s link would look like http://example.com/members/joeblogg
In the first link you posted, either you installed WP at http://example.com/buddypress so that’s why member’s link are at http://example.com/buddypress/members/joeblogg or you made a custom menu with BuddyPress as main menu and place the Members page under BuddyPress menu
