How did you install WP via webhost script or manual install e.g. via s/FTP or similar? Have you tried re-uploading WordPress manually?
In reply to: message page absent– Is this a new installation? Did you go through the Installation Wizard? Did you set Permalinks to other than default i.e., “pretty permalinks”?
– What theme are you using? If you change to BP Default theme, are you able to access your messages?
– Were you able to view messages before? If so, what changes did you make recently in your installation? In reply to: Installation Wizard Failure Due To Doc Confusion@intimez the Codex page has been updated. Sorry for the confusion. Basically, you install bbPress via Plugins > Add New https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/#c-set-up-sitewide-forums-only
In reply to: message page absent@kebecweb What do you mean by front-end dashboard? Please be more specific about your issue. WP/BP versions? What did you see where and what steps did you take? URL’s welcome
In reply to: Missing ADD MEDIAYou mentioned you changed themes and the media button is still missing. What theme did you change to? BP Default or Twenty Twelve theme? Has to be either of BP/WP Default themes to make sure it’s not a theme issue. Have you tried deactivating jetpack and/or other plugins to troubleshoot the issue?
In reply to: Multiple forum pages.@heidilf Not quite sure what you mean. You have a URL to what you want to emulate?
Or, you can always create a new page and add a shortcode on each page with the specific forum ID
– Display a single forums topics.
eg.@patrykos360 updated with instructions for a full-width page near bottom of page http://wp.me/p1I84P-4p
In reply to: Missing ADD MEDIA@pjfbncil You mean Add Media in the Pages > Add New panel or the Posts > Add New panel? BuddyPress does not remove Add Media button or functionality at all.
What plugins are activated in your installation? What theme are you using?
In reply to: [Resolved] Members Profile MissingUnfortunately the support for my theme is almost non-existent.
@bennygill Hugo was trying to help you out. You install the BP Template Pack plugin and run Appearance > BP Compatibility if the theme author added that in the theme’s install instructions. Some don’t. Were you instructed to do so?
Did you check in wp-content/themes/skematik/ if the /members/, /groups/, and other BP folders are there?
Have you tried re-uploading your theme manually, i.e., via s/FTP etc. to see if issue is resolved?
In reply to: Error in creating topicsynergyconnect.net leads to nowhere i.e., no site
In reply to: Trying to allow Author roles to create groups@apellicone By default, any member, down to suscriber level (default BP role) can create groups if you do not disable it in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings https://codex.buddypress.org/legacy/configuring-components-v1-6/#settings-buddypress-settings If you deactivate the Members plugin, can regular members create groups?
In reply to: Problem creating Buddypress enabled 2nd site…@ted_myers By default, there is one BuddyPress instance in a multisite installation. So even if you enable multiblog, while you can now have e.g. subdomain.example.com/members in your install, what you can post to and see there is that of BP in the main site.
If you want to have multiple instances of BuddyPress in your Multisite installation, there are two available plugins for that
1. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/
and
2. http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/OP has indicated successful template-packing in link above. Marking this as resolved.
@imath thank you. Will check this out tonight.
@patrykos360 check if your theme has a full-width page template and post the code in pastebin.com
e.g. full-width.php or page-fullwidth.php or template-fullwidth.php etc.In reply to: Registration Form Not SubmittingIs this a new installation? Did you go through the Installation Wizard?
Check Settings > BuddyPress > Pages. Is a Page assigned to Registration??
Have you tried re-uploading BuddyPress manually, i.e. via s/FTP or similar?
In reply to: Cannot Edit, Delete, Open or Sticky Forum Topics@enquirer32 Did you try deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress to see if issue is resolved? What theme are you using?
@derek-melo deactivate BuddyPress. Create a network (multisite) and make sure it’s working (create a subsite) before activating BuddyPress.
@rondena custom BP Template Pack solution for your theme at http://wp.me/p1I84P-4w
@remixines just remove the extra div at the top of sidebar-buddypress.php
the code has been updated in link posted above. In reply to: Explain Groups Without ForumsGroups can also have their own blogs (in subsites) which can be made private. So for each grade or each school organization, teacher/admin can create posts and students can have discussions via post comments. No forum, no problema.
In reply to: Make Users Mods of the Activity StreamBut a good idea for a plugin
@slaffik +1 🙂
@fpats Only plugin needed is BuddyPress. Join group button should be at Groups Directory page as well as in single group’s page. All’s well with BP Default theme. What theme are you using? Could be that you need to upgrade your theme or JS was not enqueued or something else.
In reply to: Check my loading speed please.but I do know they are not on dial up.
Just thinking of the worst scenario 🙂 Could just be that their internet service providers are not up to speed (no pun intended). Or, they need to free up memory space in their computers. So many possibilities.
In reply to: [Resolved] Login /Logout LocationGreat. Marking this as resolved.
