In reply to: WordCamp Houston?
:bump:
In reply to: Search Activity@pisanojm Would you mind posting the guide/tutorial that you’re using for unified search? I’d be interested in that.
In reply to: Blog vs Blogs – what’s the difference?I think the one called “Blog” is the blog posts that you write.for your main site. Try writing a new blog post and see what happens. You can change what shows up as your main page by going to your Dashboard and viewing “Settings” >> “Reading”.
In reply to: How can I customize a special group? You might consider tweaking the BP Group CSS plugin. Perhaps disable the “Group CSS” admin option except for Site Super-Admins. That way all the group’s default CSS settings will be set to your theme’s CSS files but then you as the Site Super-Admin can individually change the CSS for each group as you please.
I’ve used !AND1 in the past for just regular WP installs (not WPMU or BP) and I wasn’t all that pleased with them. When I finally switched over to JustHost for my normal WP installs I was much more satisfied with their stability and faster pageloads in general. For my BP install I use RackSpaceCloud.
In reply to: Bring back individual blogs!Do you have WordPress Single-User or Multi-User installed?
In reply to: User Name vs Display Name Publicly asI would check in the BP plugin repository: https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/
Is this plugin what you’re looking for? https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-real-names/
And this plugin does the exact opposite: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-usernames-only/
In reply to: Buddypress and jquery incompatabilityI’m just not sure where you’re coming from. Can you give a few specifics?
@jho1086 Yes, this definitely the recommended solution. I would aslo recommend using PoEdit to help you through this process: http://www.poedit.net/
In reply to: How to hide a blog from the blogs directory?Yeah you can do that. Simply log into the blog’s Dashboard. Then go to “Settings” >> “Privacy” and select the 2nd radio button “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors”.
In reply to: dynamically create new sets of profile fieldsYeah, I would agree that a functionality like that would be nice.
In reply to: New Sliding AJAX Login Panel Plugin for BuddyPressThanks Sarah for writing this and making it available.
Cool. This feels like stalking….
In reply to: Activity Replies: Too much indentation@mercime Thanks for showing me @dwenaus‘ hack. I just got it running on my site a few moments ago as a temporary fix.
@r-a-y I’ve done some C++ in the past, I know what you mean Recursive = Headaches.

I guess no one has any ideas what the “real” fix will be on Trac. I suppose it’ll be something we think up ourselves. In an ideal situation what would be the ideal solution?
Should it be an admin setting that chooses how many levels of nesting is allowed?
Would it be logarithmic indentation?
Some smooth jquery solution that let the reader scroll sideways? In reply to: Hey, Upload size limit issues please help!Glad you got it working.
In reply to: Default Activity Streams Are Backwards IMHODid moving the “All Members” tab to the end of the list then make “My Friends” the default display?
In reply to: Hey, Upload size limit issues please help!Who’s your webhost?
And what versions of WP and BP are you running?
In reply to: Default Activity Streams Are Backwards IMHOSorry about bumping an ancient thread but @modemlooper , did you ever find a solution?
Yes, 1.2.5.2 is correct.
Just keep in mind that you’ll need to re-upload your custom language file every time that you update BP.
In reply to: Buddypress and Wp 3.0 multi site problem.Hmm… I just visited http://www.science2point0.com but I don’t seen any issues. Is it fixed?
In reply to: Edit commentsCoolness.
In reply to: Edit comments@nuprn1 has a patch for this capability then been added to the Trac or would you like me to?
In reply to: Please stop developing Facebook and Twitter pluginsFB and TW plugins are awesome. In fact I think a Buzz plugin for BP would fit in well very nicely.
In reply to: Privacy for UsersIt’s “BP Profile Privacy” plugin is just for profiles.
There’s no BP friend widget that I know of, but your users can see a list of friend by going to http://YourWebsiteName.com/members/TheirUsername/friends/
