    I’m using:

    Si Capthca
    BuddyPress Humanity Plugin
    BP Signup Xtra (with required birthdate and checkbox)
    Extra Profile Fields that require text input.
    Bad Behavior with HTTP:BL enabled…

    I’ve not noticed any spam logins yet…. knock on wood/cross fingers.

    My guess is it that it will be out this week for sure based on disucssions in the trac, here, and on BP Dev. talk….

    @spinhead I didn’t program the function, but it was made for bbpress originally, I just hacked it together into something that worked for buddypress… That being said I may have omitted something above.

    My original post on buddypress.org included a link to the pastebin that I created here (makes sure to read the comments I put in as it is pasted together into one file):

    http://pastebin.com/fvM6LEnp

    Here is the original thread on buddypress…
    https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/forum-topic-tags/?topic_page=1&num=15

    It is kind of crazy how hard it it to get the topic tags to appear as a row… this integration works for me.

    Your feed looks like it’s running ok now… When you experience feed issues you can run them through a feed validator and usually get a good idea as to where/what the problem is or originating from… Next time you have an error, try running your feed through this:
    http://validator.w3.org/feed/

    And see what comes up…

    Like I said… both devs. have stopped supporting them…

    There is this plugin:
    https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-tinymce/

    And this one:
    http://bp-dev.org/projects/#tinymce

    Problem is both seem to have had their developers stop supporting them… Maybe somebody here can pick up the development or you can maybe find a developer to build upon them for you… You can those two out and see if they work.. I haven’t tried either.

    I don’t know of any other plugins that do what you want, perhaps someone else here will…

    I’m just wondering how long it would take a server to integrate 50,000 blogs with BuddyPress… sometime I would imagine… It will be interesting to find out what your problem is as more people reply to your thread.

    Yes, I would be interested in contributing to this plugin as I was very interested in the BP Wiki plugin. I’ll commit $25.00 for it.

    Hi Brian,

    It’s a good question and I’m sure someone will get back to you. Typical etiquette here states that you need to give 24-48 hours before “bumping” a post here because the site is not large enough to get an “instant answer” in such a short period and nearly everyone here is a volunteer… Have you checked the codex… -if you are a programmer you may be able to glean something out of the code, information, and loops posted there.

    https://codex.buddypress.org/home/

    Best regards.

    Also check out the well-supported themes by the wpmudev.org group… they cost, but they will provide fantastic support and are guaranteed to work with all upcoming BP updates… Agree with @modemlooper …. the beauty of BuddyPress is you can do anything… the caveat with that is you have to spend a lot of time figuring it all out, trying things, and you might even need to learn a little “programming” along the way to make it do what you want…

    Thank you for leading me to the code to get to this… I basically just did a super-slight mod of Rich’s code. Here is what I used and I put it in the the bp-custom.php file in the plugins directory:

    `<? function my_group_loop_activity_item() {

    global $bp, $activities_template;

    if ( !bp_is_active( ‘activity’ ) )

    return;

    if ( !bp_group_is_visible() )

    return;

    $show_hidden = false;

    /* Group filtering */

    $object = $bp->groups->id;

    $primary_id = bp_get_group_id();

    if ( ‘public’ != $bp->groups->current_group->status && groups_is_user_member( $bp->loggedin_user->id, bp_get_group_id() ) )

    $show_hidden = true;

    /* Note: any params used for filtering can be a single value, or multiple values comma separated. */

    $defaults = array(

    ‘display_comments’ => false, // false for none, stream/threaded – show comments in the stream or threaded under items

    ‘sort’ => ‘DESC’, // sort DESC or ASC

    ‘page’ => 1, // which page to load

    ‘per_page’ => false, // number of items per page

    ‘max’ => 1, // max number to return

    ‘include’ => false, // pass an activity_id or string of ID’s comma separated

    ‘show_hidden’ => $show_hidden, // Show activity items that are hidden site-wide?

    /* Filtering */

    ‘object’ => $object, // object to filter on e.g. groups, profile, status, friends

    ‘primary_id’ => $primary_id, // object ID to filter on e.g. a group_id or forum_id or blog_id etc.

    ‘action’ => ‘new_forum_topic’, // action to filter on e.g. activity_update, new_forum_post, profile_updated

    ‘secondary_id’ => false, // secondary object ID to filter on e.g. a post_id

    /* Searching */

    ‘search_terms’ => false // specify terms to search on

    );

    $r = wp_parse_args( $args, $defaults );
    extract( $r );

    $filter = array( ‘user_id’ => false, ‘object’ => $object, ‘action’ => $action, ‘primary_id’ => $primary_id, ‘secondary_id’ => $secondary_id );

    $activities_template = new BP_Activity_Template( $page, $per_page, $max, $include, $sort, $filter, $search_terms, $display_comments, $show_hidden );

    while ( bp_activities() ) : bp_the_activity(); ?>

    <div class="item-descb" id="activity-“>

    Latest Topic Activity in the Group:

    <a href="”>

    <?php endwhile;

    }

    add_action( ‘bp_directory_groups_item’, ‘my_group_loop_activity_item’ );
    ?>`

    I also added this to the default.css to give me a little more control of the output (changed the div in the original to match below):

    ` ul.item-list li div.item-descb {
    margin: 10px 0 0 64px;
    font-size: 11px;
    color: #888;
    width: 85%;
    }
    `

    THANKS AGAIN! Here is a pict completed:

    @boonebgorges If you get a chance would you mind putting your “mind” on this again for a few minutes? Is it a lost cause? It’s not critical for me, but I would like to be able to do it. RE: latest topic preview in the groups page underneath each group name.

    @r-a-y @mercime I just got this from @Brajesh and it is working great! Thank you both so much for your help with this.

    Add this to the buddypress/bp-groups.php, around line 476, in addition to the above suggested add (this is a core change, not a theme change):
    `
    //add this

    if(!empty($_POST[“topic_tags”]))
    bb_add_topic_tags($topic_id,$_POST[“topic_tags”]);//add the new tags
    //end add

    do_action( ‘groups_edit_forum_topic’, $topic_id );
    bp_core_redirect( bp_get_group_permalink( $bp->groups->current_group ) . ‘forum/topic/’ . $topic_slug . ‘/’ );
    }
    `

    Also, just for reference, here is the function I added to the functions.php to get the tags to go in a row. (associated with the code I posted above)…

    `
    //topic tags as row

    function bb_row_tags( $args = null ) {
    $defaults = array(
    ‘tags’ => false,
    ‘format’ => ‘row’,
    ‘topic’ => 0,
    );

    $args = wp_parse_args( $args, $defaults );
    extract( $args, EXTR_SKIP );

    if ( !$topic = get_topic( get_topic_id( $topic ) ) ) {
    return false;
    }

    if ( !is_array( $tags ) ) {
    $tags = bb_get_topic_tags( $topic->topic_id );
    }

    if ( !$tags ) {
    return false;
    }

    $r = ”;
    switch ( strtolower( $format ) ) {
    case ‘row’ :
    default :
    $args = ‘row’;
    foreach ( $tags as $tag ) {
    $r .= _bb_row_tag_item( $tag, $args );
    }
    break;
    }
    echo $r;
    }

    function _bb_row_tag_item( $tag, $args ) {
    $url = esc_url( bb_get_tag_link( $tag ) );
    $name = esc_html( bb_get_tag_name( $tag ) );
    if ( ‘row’ == $args ) {
    $id = ‘tag-‘ . $tag->tag_id . ‘_’ . $tag->user_id;
    return “t” . ‘‘ . $name . ‘‘ . “n”;
    }
    }
    `

    Thanks and no-doubt the right file… Here is what I have:

    `

    <input type="text" name="topic_title" id="topic_title" value="” />

    <?php
    $ttags = bb_get_topic_tags( bp_get_the_topic_id() );
    if ( $ttags ) : ?>

    <?php printf(__('

    No tags added…

    ‘), bp_get_forum_directory_permalink() . ‘/#tags’ ); ?>

    <input type="submit" name="save_changes" id="save_changes" value="” />

    `

    Everything appears as it should… the box for the tag entry appears appears, BUT when I put tags in and click SAVE CHANGES -iit does not save them….

    with regard to status… is it dynamic? Is it pulling information from registered users posts like the achievement plugin and poi plugin?

    Hello Philip…

    I just registered successfully on your site… My guess is that the person didn’t check for their validation e-mail… I’ve had huge trouble with gmail accounts going to SPAM every-time so I’ve made sure that I talk about the spam/junk folder…. Also, you need to make sure that the folks are aware of the e-mail… I’ve spent a lot of “words” talking about this on the musicpln.org.

    Also, what plugin are you using for your “novice status” counts in the upper right sidebar?

    Asking for ideas of how/where could/should I use this code to accomplish the inputting of tags after a topic was created (specifically for users that did not put any in in the first place)? Would like to make it so a moderator/above could do it… From above trac:

    @r-a-y you mentioned a month ago about a plugin for caching avatars…. any ideas what/where this is?

    So I looked at this and it looks like it would be more difficult that I expected… It doesn’t look like there is an easy way to differentiate which topic to pull… that is using the bp_has_forum_topics () loop I can pull the most recent of all the topics, but there is no easy way to pull the most recent topic from among the forums within the group without some major re-write magic….

    Just to clear it up, what I’m trying to do… here is a pict:
    http://mustech.net/holder/grouptopic.jpg

    So the most recent topic would be previewed for each group listed in the group directory in the area specified…

    @modemlooper

    Hey, first of great plugin with huge potential. Just an FYI, I’ve tested your plugin and there seems to be a problem with it and the “load more” button. I’ve confirmed it to be happening only when your plugin is loaded. Basically, for me, when your plugin in is activated and the load more is selected on the activity page the load more content does not show up and the “load more” text disappears. I.E. none of the other updates load when pressing the load more button and the button itself disappears. This is not something easily seen when loading your plugin as all else appears to work ok for me…. Can anyone else confirm this for me/modemlooper… Does your “load more” button cease to function with this plugin installed?

    @warut xprofile data would look better direclty under the field because of the width of the badge. In my opinion… unless there was a way to specify width… it looks like the width is set to “auto” based on the graphic image…

    There is another issue with previewing a badge horizontally… If the badge contains a lot of xprofile data it will break the confines of the Website Page DIV….

    Have you tried the plugin “Humanity”? Also you can try to add an extra xprofile field that needs to be filled in. We validate e-mails on our site…
