In reply to: Creating a BP theme
Hi,
In child theme you can override only BuddyPress templates and can write styles for them only. Rest of the styling will be the same as your parent theme. Creating a child does not mean that you have to restyle or redesign everything.
Please read this: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
We always includes parent theme’s style in child theme using functions and that’s it.
Thanks
In reply to: Buddypress username in profileIn reply to: Disable Member page to non-logged in usersYou can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/ to translate/change the text.
If it is a single text please let me know, I will provide a code snippet for that then there will be no need to install a plugin for just one text change.

Can you check with the default theme? If it works with that then I think it’s your theme’s issue otherwise it is supposed to be not there and should be applied by theme settings only.
Thanks

You can use this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/string-locator/ and search for your string. If it is in the template then this plugin will list you all the templates having that string.

In reply to: Changing Avatar based on field dataHi,
There is a filter code already written to modify this:return apply_filters( 'bp_get_activity_avatar', bp_core_fetch_avatar( array( 'item_id' => $item_id, 'object' => $object, 'type' => $type, 'alt' => $alt, 'class' => $class, 'width' => $width, 'height' => $height, 'email' => $email ) ) );You can use this filter to write your own code to modify the class parameter.
