This problem has been reported:

I’m afraid there isn’t a definitive solution for this yet.
In reply to: remove/modify copyright text“Yes you can” means yes
In reply to: remove/modify copyright textDelete the copyright text? Yes you can.
In reply to: remove/modify copyright textIf you have a child theme, simply copy over /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/footer.php to your child theme and modify to your liking.
I wouldn’t recommend that. Andy’s method is the preferred method.
I think the performance hit in using child themes is minimal.
In reply to: Any way to change forum base URL?Because you have WP setup in site.com/blog/, this isn’t really possible.
It may be possible to use some rewrite rules in .htaccess, but I’m not sure.
Keep in mind that if you install a standalone version of bbPress, you’ll essentially have two forums unless you:
A) Disable the forum component in BP, or
hide the references to the site.com/blog/forum link.
+1.
Brajesh has his BP Gallery plugin.
MrMaz has his BP Links plugin.
There are already some actions in the What’s New post form, but It would be nice if there was an uniform API so these plugins could hook into!
In reply to: Show favourite count after each activity?Look into the bp_core_fetch_avatar() function in bp-core/bp-core-avatars.php.
Sounds good to me. Not sure if there’s a better way performance-wise.
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!To all,
I have tagged v0.51, which fixes the “cannot modify header” issue.
https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/oembed-for-buddypress.zip
You still need to rename the folder from “oembed-for-buddypress” to “bp-oembed”.
This will be the last release in the 0.5 series.

Andy P has made some nifty improvements to the plugin. Among other things, no more folder renames and whitelist! Thank you Andy!
This upcoming version will be v0.6 and will be released when BP 1.2.1 drops early next week.
Thanks everyone for testing.
modemlooper created a child theme with a widgetized front page:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/default-theme-with-widgetized-home-page
Check that out.
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastMrMaz’s next version of BP Links will be the definitive media embedding plugin for BP!
My plugin just utilizes what WordPress already has; it doesn’t do all the cool stuff MrMaz’s plugin does!
In reply to: Forum vs. Activity Stream split personalityAdded back in 2189:
https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/2189
I had a ticket about it:
https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/1419
But there are probably a few others in Trac.
DJPaul – I think you’re referring to this long discussion thread:

Man, Akismet is loving me today!
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at lastMrMaz is working on manipulating the activity stream, Michael.
Future version!
In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!Read a few comments above:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/oembed-for-buddypress-plugin-out-now#post-37870
I haven’t committed the changes on SVN yet.
In reply to: Show favourite count after each activity?Try bp_get_activity_id() in place of $_POST[‘id’].
In reply to: Indexation of content+1.
I’d love some form of sitewide blog search as well, but I know this isn’t really within the realm of BP.
In reply to: Privacy+1 here for privacy.
I’m not really concerned with blog privacy, but with activity stream and friend privacy.
Hope some of Jeff’s work can be ported to BP core.

In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!Hey geoffm33,
Delete the whitespace on the last line in bp-oembed.php (the whitespace after ?>).
Thanks for reporting the bug.
Will fix it up.
In reply to: Info about the used action \”wp\”Quoted from the WP codex:
wp:
Executes after the query has been parsed and post(s) loaded, but before any template execution, inside the main WordPress function wp. Useful if you need to have access to post data but can’t use templates for output. Action function argument: an array with a reference to the global $wp object.
Action priority level: (again from the codex)
1. plugins_loaded

In reply to: Forum, not bbpressbbPress is turning into a WP plugin sometime in the future, probably using the custom post types feature in WP 3.0.
There is some merit in bbPress within BP. It just needs a little love.
[EDIT]
Didn’t know this was an idea thread. I don’t think this is going to change any time soon.
You could try Simple:Press or one of the other WP forum plugins out there.
Scott Kingsley Clark has a port of bbPress working on his WP Pods CMS framework, which could be a good future alternative:

In reply to: oEmbed for BuddyPress plugin – out now!Re: members directory – yes, that is intended because I don’t think you’d want to see a huge embedded object right next to the name in the directory.
Re: additional sites – to extend the list of oEmbeddable sites, you have to extend WordPress’ oEmbed provider list. I should have put this in the FAQ.
In reply to: Adding to the codexNeeds some work:
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/functions/
You should be able to start adding to it if you’re logged in.
In reply to: BuddyPress-Links 0.3 FINAL is here at last@MrMaz, any idea how much the Pro version is going to cost?
Remember in the first release, I said how BP Links resembled an aggregator? I’d love to see an aggregator-like feature in the pro version (if possible, and if you have the time to implement it of course!).
