In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?
@nuprn1 Thanks Rich, that’s done the trick!
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 Rich I figured it out. The widget keeps any sticky topics as the latest ones regardless of when they were made that’s all. So if I make a sticky topic at anytime it is placed at the top of the list when the widget is viewed within a group or forum page.
Not really a big problem but that’s why I was getting confused. Could you just clarify that this is the intended behaviour?
Thanks,
Ross
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 Hi Rich, just noticed on the latest topics widget that when it is displayed within a group forum it is a bit dynamic in the fact that it returns only the latest topics from that group. I like that, however it seems to be showing them in reverse to elsewhere. i.e it list the topics from oldest at the top to newest at the bottom. Everywhere else it is the other way around so that the newest topic is at the top. Do you get this too?
@nuprn1 Sorry Rich, when you refer to bp_get_the_topic_post_is_mine() is on the reply posts do you mean there is somewhere else I need to get rid of that code?
@nuprn1 Thanks so much Rich, I simply removed the bp_get_the_topic_is_mine() section and now only admin can see any edit/ delete links, that’s great. Will the edit/ delete options still be found if a clever user knew the url or will that now be void. I doubt anyone is that clever to be honest anyway but thought I’d ask anyway!
php echo sprintf( __( ‘%s said %s ago:’, ‘buddypress’ ), bp_get_the_topic_post_poster_name(), bp_get_the_topic_post_time_since() )
@nuprn1
Thanks Rich, I presume it’s this part of the topic.php file I need to change.Do you have any idea of what it should look like to just post the date and time?
In reply to: Quote messagesIs there a standalone ajax quote Rich or do I have to install the entire Forum Extras?
@pisanojm I have just updated to BP 1.2.5.2 and although I don’t get a 4 or 5 hours issue I do get a general, ‘sent sometime ago’ time on PM’s that I have only just sent. The time stamp is correct on my inbox page but when i open the message it just states, ‘sent sometime ago’.
Anyone else getting this?
In reply to: No registration availableIn the dashboard, click on settings then general. Tick the box next to ‘membership – anyone can register’.
Hope that helps!Members automatically join a group when they post in the forum of it.
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 replaced it with &ndash and all is good! Cheers for that and great plugin!
Thanks!In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 Sorry rich, I’m a bit simple! Haha! What do I need to change in the code?
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 it’s http://www.sharespeak.co.uk and the widget is only on the homepage at the moment.
You should see the strange symbol I’m talking about.
Let me know what you think,
Ross
I can send you a copy of my bp-custom.php file too if you like. I have only 2 functions in it, your widget and a redirect to forum upon clicking on a group snippet of code from r-a-y. Maybe I have implemented it wrong somewhere?
In reply to: Issue with Member Profiles Redirecting to Homepage@commentluv I’ve noticed with BP Followers that if you follow someone and then unfollow them before they clcik on the notification about the following that I get reverted back to the homepage. I expect this is because when the ‘follow’ is ‘unfollowed’ the template for the section that records the followers is removed therefore there is nothing to show. This results in a permanent notification that you can’t get rid of unless you go into the database.
Not sure if it has anything to do with the things you are experiencing?
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y Not sure what you did r-a-y but it’s done the trick. I can confirm it works on a WP single install and BP 1.2.5 with BP Followers enabled. The previous symptoms have gone away! Thanks again!
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 Strange but it’s still there. I have copied the code directly from your site by clicking on the clipboard icon so it should be perfect?
Can you not replicate the issue or does it all work fine your end? Thanks!
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 I’ll check. It appears before the name of every forum. I’ll try repasting it!
In reply to: Is there a latest forum topic widget?@nuprn1 when using the standalone widget it works but before each forum name is a black diamond with a question mark in it? Is it an unrecognised character? Any ideas? It isn’t there when I use the forum index plugin but I only need the widget.
Thanks!In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y Thanks so much! Your usernames plugin is absolutely integral to my site so if one has to go it can’t be yours! Would love to be able to use both so really do appreciate your work! Thanks again!
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y Ahh right I’m using a single install WP 3.0 with BP 1.2.5 and the latest versions of BP follow and usernames only.
Keep me posted but the scenario above is definately the cause. Not sure if it’s your’s or the BP follow plugin that needs changing though. Let me know how you get on and thanks again!In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y that is 100% the issue here. Just logged on as a regular user, followed someone and then the identifiers all reverted to that users name who I was following.
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y AHA!!! If I stop following anyone then it remedies itself too. If I follow someone then the identifier displays the name of the last person I followed. Can you try it?
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y how very bizarre. It goes away when i deactivate BP Follow. Think it might only be happening on admin’s account as at the minute my site isn’t live and admin is the only user who is following people.
None of the other members are following anyone, they are only being followed. Will test and report back.
In reply to: Blue @ link lists incorrect name.@r-a-y
Hahaha, GOT IT! It’s the BP Follow plugin. Only happens when it’s active and only when I’m logged in as admin. Do you have it active on your install?
