Site in transition? Is Buddypress.org being upgraded to 1.5?
@david: This looks really great. Very clean + a mobile version? amazing.
Love to help out.
@histrion: You may have missed this on Buddydev’s site, but they clearly list the plugin as beta (beta 5 is the latest) and specifically indicate that the current release is not intended for live sites, but rather for testing to identify issues and improve the plugin:
“Bp chat is a facebook like chat plugin for BuddyPress. Currently, we have a beta release of it. I won’t say It is good enough for live sites yet, but yes, you can try your hands and help me improve it.”
To mercime question above:
1. @afrey which theme are you using? Does the problem occur if you use the bp-default theme?
2. Is this a new problem (ie. forum worked great before, but now doesn’t?) or has it always been broken since you installed buddypress?
3. Are you using the internal forum shipped with buddypress or an external bbpress (standalone or the new beta plugin?)
4. Does it happen all the time or just some of the time? Any commonality of when it happens?
5. What other plugins are you running?
Thanks for the reply. I’m currently testing with the TinyMCE Advanced plugin (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tinymce-advanced/). While it does offer additional complexity to the mix, it does seem to be doing the job until it makes its way to the docs plugin.
@slprof: To the point of “badges”, we’ve considered a cron based image generation of profile badges to allow users to “brag” on their achievements on 3rd party sites which will provide a link back to their BP profile page. Is that you were thinking when you mentioned badges?
@jjj: First off, thanks.
Secondly, is the thought to hook into Akismet for the various actions within Buddypress? Wonder if this is served best by making the existing Akismet plugin Buddypress aware since the same effort needs to happen with standalone bbPress, etc.
Thanks for the followup Greg. What is the exact change you made to the bp-messages-templatetags.php? Trying to figure out if it has already been updated in SVN.
@techguy trying to figure out if I fall into the “many other people” category..
I have one install of WordPress MU with 3 blogs, one for each of my 3 domains (domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com). Username and passwords are shared across all 3 domains.
I want to add Buddypress. How would that work? A single Buddypress site (ie. a shared list of all groups) or would the domains be segmented somehow (ie. domain1.com would only see groups for domain1.com?) I don’t see any options to control the behavior.
