In reply to: New Groupblog Plugin
This seems highly interesting!
In reply to: navbar not appearing, footer is thereHi!
Do you mean the adminbar (showing at the very top of the page, it says Buddypress to the left) or the navbar (containing only links to blogs, wire, profile, groups, etc and the subnavbar)?
Oh, the Ravatar plugin doesn’t seem to work at all, so forget about that…
In reply to: Adding subnav-items: bp_core_add_subnav_item()Fantastic! I hadn’t seen your post. I’m used to have email updates from forums (I’ve seen that on the roadmap).
Thanks for the info on 1.1 also! I’ve checked the IRC for daily updates and it seems there’s lots of changes coming.
Now I can get back on track.
In reply to: Adding subnav-items: bp_core_add_subnav_item()Just a friendly bump. I haven’t managed to find this out by myself.
In reply to: Facebook-esque status updates?I’m using the WordPress P2-theme for this functionality. It won’t be integrated into Buddypress like the status update (since it’s a WP theme), but its the right thing for me. You might want to consider it.
In reply to: Promoting a Social Network. Discuss.I worked with building a website for academics in psychology in my country. After two years of hard work the website lives on its own pretty much. I’ve found that in my population of interest there’s 1 out of 10 who will actively participate; write something. The rest will just read and lurk. That means that you should calculate with this in mind.
You could always try to partner with that Ning-network and build something with them. If you’ve got an interesting system they might be interested.
I’m about to build my second community and have lots of contacts to get help from now. I’ve got them from the first project so all the hard work has paid off. I’m going to ask them to help me. They will be able to invite people to the network (WPMU plugin). It won’t be spam like (as per DJ Pauls comment).
Hi!
I’m altering the bp-member-theme to go along with P2. But these two components lay inside of a theme I’ve made with artisteer. There’s a lot of hacking code to make it all work but I’m beginning to like the result.
The reason I’m editing bpmember is that I want horizontal navigation and not vertical. This has been quite easy to edit but has taken me some time. I’ve had no experience with BP before and just a little with WP.
I’ve written about putting P2 in another theme before. You can find it here:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/294161
Anyway.. Editing P2 is way simpler than editing the whole of bphome/bpmember. It all depends on how much you want integreated in one “seamless look”.
Best of luck!
In reply to: Removing Userbar LoginI just found out a much simpler way to do this. Edit base.css like below. Just add display : none.
#userbar ul li a#my-activity {
-moz-background-clip:border;
-moz-background-inline-policy:continuous;
-moz-background-origin:padding;
background:transparent url(../images/icons/activity_bullet.gif) no-repeat scroll 16px 50%;
display:none;
}
In reply to: "Author" role and "My Blogs"Hi!
It would be fantastic to have the ability to use the My blogs this way. With the upcoming BP feature (as per the roadmap):
Blogs:
* A quick post form via the theme
.. this would be a welcome addition! I’ll only be using one blog for all the users so this would be fantastic!

In reply to: Permission Denied in Content and Events pluginI’m also having the same problem. Latest stable WP and BP.
@ Hyrxx
I can’t seem to find it. Remember any other details?
In reply to: Removing Userbar LoginFound the answer here:
https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/how-can-i-remove-logout-link-from-the-userbar
BP-member-theme is made so that there are two menues at the left side. Even the graphic hints at that since there are two “hardcoded” grey backgrounds at the far left. If you’d remove the userbar & optionsbar there would still be two grey areas there.
I’m modifying the bp-member-theme and putting horizontal navigation on my BP webite. When doing it that way you could do a workaround to not show the userbar/optionsbar at some webpages. You could do it if you take away the call for nav-bar in the header.php. Then you’d have to add that call to all pages you want the userbar/optionsbar to appear.
But as far as BP-member theme goes you’d have to do something about those grey background-areas if you remove the userbar/optionsbar.
In reply to: Removing Userbar LoginThanks J^3.
By doing this, I also learned how the optionsbar and the userbar play together.
Hi Jodyw1!
Can you please show how you did that? I’m trying to remove some things from the userbar as well. Activity and log out/in has to go (but I still want the functionality).

In reply to: Profile Link?This interests me as well. Tried searching and got this:
* Example of a component that is NOT a root component:

In reply to: Using userbar in WordPress?Okay! I got this after a lot of bug searching. I didn’t have the right adress between the css-file and images.
This is resolved and you may delete this thread.

You have to edit it by hand. You can use the Firebug addon to Firefox to get help with which CSS-code to change.
As far as I know, you only need to do the editing in custom.css. It should override the original settings.
