In reply to: Creating groups
Yes you don’t get it as an option in your profile pages, it’s there in the Groups directory and also in the adminbar dropdown menu under groups.
In reply to: Activity default tabYou could try:
function bpex_set_member_default_nav() { if ( bp_displayed_user_id() == get_current_user_id() ) { bp_core_new_nav_default ( array( 'parent_slug' => buddypress()->activity->id, // other "activity" sub_nav slugs : personal favorites friends groups 'subnav_slug' => 'mentions', 'screen_function' => 'bp_activity_screen_mentions' ) ); } } add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'bpex_set_member_default_nav', 20 );In reply to: Youtube/Vimeo Embeds Profile FieldI’ve not got a solution extacty but an alternative is to allow the user to add video embeds using either https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-user-widgets/ or https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-profile-home-widgets/ I don’t think there are any profile field options that allow embeds.
In reply to: Forum menuYou would create a page called forums and bbPress will automatically populate this with your forums.
In reply to: Change the message after “Complete Sign Up”In reply to: Automatic membership in a specific GroupHi there Ivan, there’s a plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-auto-group-join/
In reply to: Creating groupsSo long as you have groups enabled then you should see create group in the Groups page, and also as an option in the WordPress toolbar under groups.
In reply to: Groups do not work in a URL https://This is probably more to do with how you’ve setup WordPress rather than BuddyPress. BuddyPress redirects based on what WordPress thinks is the right URL for the site, it does not hard code https, but simply get the site address from WordPress.
In reply to: Can not create menuesI guess part of it is what options you choose to have at your site but yes with everything enabled there’s a lot of options and features, never mind the range of plugins that you will need in order to extend the site.
In reply to: Can not create menuesYep BuddyPress can be, it’s why I set up that site, unless you are saying my site is complicated
In reply to: Can not create menuesI’ve got a site, buddyuser.com, it’s good for newbies.
In reply to: Can not create menuesThey arn’t marked because they are mandatory, they are just listing them to let you know they are there.
In reply to: Can not create menuesin the menu’s page, check the Screen Options at the top right of the page, BuddyPress is probably not selected.
In reply to: Later extension of BuddypressI’m not sure there is an ecommerce plugin that supports BuddyPress out of the box. However most have shortcodes that allow a seller to display their shop. I guess what I’d need to know is how you want your buddypress site to work. I recently helped someone looking to set up ecommerce via groups where the group admin could set up a shop for the group. Basically we set up a post assigned to the group and let the user add their shotcodes there and made sure the post had it’s own Shop group menu item that linked to the post.
I think this is because every new activity item is going through the wp_kses filter and if those elements are not in the allowed list they will be stripped. There’s a filter yu can use to allow these extra elements. I’ve an example below showing how to allow paragraph tags:
function venutius_activity_allowed_tags( $allowed_tags ) { return array_merge_recursive( $allowed_tags, array( 'p' => array(), ) ); }add_filter( ‘bp_activity_allowed_tags’, ‘venutius_activity_allowed_tags’ );’
In reply to: Activity default tabThis method suggested by danbp works:
In reply to: Edit css /colors in BP ProfileBy the looks of things you are trying to change the colours of the profile fields, so something like:
.profile-fields { color: blue; }Should work
However something more specific is sometimes required, such as:
#buddypress table.profile-fields { color: blue; }In reply to: BuddyPress Message Attachment – broken linksFork and redesign the plugin.
In reply to: BuddyPress Message Attachment – broken linksI see you already have. From a quick look at the plugin I think this is due to the way it’s been designed in that it uses a separate folder for the message attachments and the entry in the Media directory is effectively a dummy entry so it’s not picking up the file thumbnail etc.
In reply to: BuddyPress Message Attachment – broken linksHi there, You’d need to raise this with the plugin developer direct.
In reply to: Google Maps for user profiles?maybe try – https://geomywp.com/
In reply to: Register page not workingAlso where you logged out when you tried accessing the register page?
In reply to: Buddypress emails not being sentI’d try reinstalling the BP emails ( admin>>Tools>>BuddyPress ).
In reply to: field excerpt to show in members pageTypically the way to do this would be to overload the members page (buddypress/bp-template/bp-theme/members/members-loop.php) and at your code to display the field excerpt.
In reply to: Wrong template displayThere’s quite a few shortcodes available for BuddyPress but I don’t thank all of them together would allow you to recreate the BuddyPress pages.
