In reply to: Theme Incompatibility Issue
Yep you need to ask the theme author if they can fix it.
you can email me on venutius at buddyuser.com
In reply to: Friends List (on Member List) showing ALL membersHi there, I can confirm I’m also seeing this behaviour, could you raise this as a bug on Trac?
That’s wasn’t my question, hae you deactivatedall other plugins apart from BP to see if that effects it?
In reply to: Buddypress DocsYes you can, you can create a standard post and save it as a group post, and set the visibility to public, group members only, or site members only. The post then shows in the Group Posts directory for that group. One of these the group admin can set as the group home page.
In reply to: Activate Page RedirectingHi Angela, sorry I missed this, did you resolve your issue? Redirect to home page sounds like you were already logged in at the browser when you clicked on the link.
In reply to: Restricting private messagesHi there, are you using the Nouveau template at all? If so I reckon a better way to do this would be to remove the private message button from the buttons array using the
bp_nouveau_get_members_buttonsfilter.So something like:
add_filter( 'bp_nouveau_get_members_buttons', 'venutius_check_private_message_button' ); function venutius_check_private_message_button( $buttons ) { if ( ! pmpro_hasMembershipLevel('Premium') ) { unset( $buttons['private_message'] ); } return $buttons; }In reply to: BP Nouveau – What’s New?Hi there, translations do work, I’ve just created a custom MO file and added it to the site using the WPT Custom MO file plugin, What’s New translated to my custom script just fine.
In reply to: Activity drop down box?Hi there,
The issue here is that the Nouveau what’s new form is constructed entirely by JavaScript and as such is not overloadable as far as I’m aware.
The only solution I could come up with is to replace the BP Nouveau What’s New form with the BP Legacy one, this kind of works but you lose the javascript functionality, in that the form opens up to it’s full height straightaway and posting an update involves a page load. but it does work.
Does it do this with only BuddyPress active?
I’m not seeing that on my test site, are you sure you don’t have something doing a redirect?
I’m not sure I’m with you, what’s the url for the login page?
In reply to: Bypass Email RequirementHi there,
I’ve come up with a better way of doing this.
If you want to remove the email field altogether, you can add this to your functions.php:
add_action( 'bp_nouveau_get_signup_fields', 'venutius_remove_email_signup_field' ); function venutius_remove_email_signup_field( $fields ) { unset( $fields['account_details']['signup_email'] ); return $fields; }alternatively if you want to retain the field but just want to remove the required attribute you can add this:
add_action( 'bp_nouveau_get_signup_fields', 'venutius_remove_email_signup_field_required' ); function venutius_remove_email_signup_field_required( $fields ) { $fields['account_details']['signup_email']['required'] = false; return $fields; }In reply to: Bypass Email RequirementHi there,
This is happening because the Nouveau register page will not submit without an email being entered into the field. There’s a number of possible solutions to this, all of them pretty hacky. So for example you could use JavaScript to remove the required status of the email field. However you mentioned overloading the register page and I’ll give you my more hacky solution. Be warned you will probably need to do more work to get your register page looking right. My solution is to replace that section of the Nouveau registration form with the Legacy content.
So you’d replace this:
<?php bp_nouveau_signup_form(); ?>with this:
<label for="signup_username"><?php _e( 'Username', 'buddypress' ); ?> <?php _e( '(required)', 'buddypress' ); ?></label> <input type="text" name="signup_username" id="signup_username" value="<?php bp_signup_username_value(); ?>" <?php bp_form_field_attributes( 'username' ); ?>/> <label for="signup_email"><?php _e( 'Email Address', 'buddypress' ); ?> <?php _e( '(required)', 'buddypress' ); ?></label> <input type="email" name="signup_email" id="signup_email" value="<?php bp_signup_email_value(); ?>" <?php bp_form_field_attributes( 'email' ); ?>/> <label for="signup_password"><?php _e( 'Choose a Password', 'buddypress' ); ?> <?php _e( '(required)', 'buddypress' ); ?></label> <input type="password" name="signup_password" id="signup_password" value="" class="password-entry" <?php bp_form_field_attributes( 'password' ); ?>/> <div id="pass-strength-result"></div> <label for="signup_password_confirm"><?php _e( 'Confirm Password', 'buddypress' ); ?> <?php _e( '(required)', 'buddypress' ); ?></label> <input type="password" name="signup_password_confirm" id="signup_password_confirm" value="" class="password-entry-confirm" <?php bp_form_field_attributes( 'password' ); ?>/>Like I say it’s not the prettiest solution but it should get you moving forward.
In reply to: Notification for all Activity to all users at siteHi there,
I think you’d need to add custom code for this. You could use the BP hook
bp_activity_addto fire a notification to all users. but it’s more complicated then that since you won’t want all activities to spam your users, for example when someone joins a group, you’d probably want t filter that out so I think there would be quite a bit of work involved getting that working. In reply to: Notification received date issueHi there,
BuddyPress uses the server date to work out the dates for notifications so I think the first thing to ask if is your server date is showing correctly. You can check this in Settings>>General.
In reply to: Severe BuddyPress / Yoast conflictSounds like you need to ask Yoast to add support for BuddyPress.
In reply to: Buddypress Private message (Conversation text bug)I’m not getting that error, just seeing “viewing conversation between you and x”
In reply to: Theme Incompatibility IssueThis is probably down to your theme or a plugin overloading the registration page.
In reply to: User Pages & Register Page Redirecting To Home PageMight be worth asking the developer if they can add BuddyPress support
In reply to: User Pages & Register Page Redirecting To Home PageHi there, if you are logged in then the register page will redirect to home, try logging out and accessing it.
For other BP pages redirecting, you probably have a plugin doing this, does it behave that way with only BuddyPress active?
In reply to: Webp how to implement BuddypressBuddyPress does not include image handing so would not have an input to this, you should ask whoever you use for image support in BP – rtMdia or MediaPress typically.
In reply to: Users list can not be displayedHi there,
Do you have this page registered to BuddyPress in Admin>>Settings>>BuddyPress>>Pages ?
In reply to: Extended ProfileSorry, try this link https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-usernames-only/
In reply to: Extended ProfileOne thing to look at would be this plugin: https://github.com/r-a-y/buddypress-usernames-only that could solve your problem.
