In reply to: Reorder or rearrange buddypress menu items
Not specifically, I’m just mentioning that for Nouveau if you go to customizer>BP nouveau>Member Navigation you can drag and drop the nav order
In reply to: Reorder or rearrange buddypress menu itemsOne option would be to use BP Nouveau, it comes with a customizer option to reorder the Nav items.
Drat, sorry, my error
Yep that looks right to me
If your theme is overloading that page then yes the changes you make might not have any effect. Your best bet is to contact the theme author and see if that’s the case then ask them how to overload that.
this may have some relevance: https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/8050
This plugin restricts messages to friends only, it would be pretty simple to fork it and change it so it’s for admins only: https://github.com/r-a-y/bp-pms-for-friends
Sorry I thought you had it sorted since the code you supplied has the right option:
<?php if ( bp_has_members( bp_ajax_querystring( 'members' ). '&type=alphabetical' ) ) : ?>IS this not working for you? works fine on my system.
In reply to: Logged in user link to InboxThat sounds like it would need custom development to do that
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupIt’s difficult to say, I’d suggest installing Query Monitor and BWS Error Log viewer and see what error is occuring if any when you reply to that activity update. It will hopefully give some clues. There’s also the possibility that it’s a JaveScript issue, so I’d open the browser console (right click on page and select inspect element then switch the view to console) while yu are making the comment to see if any errors show up.
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupIt works for me with Legacy, have you tried deactivating your other plugins? Strange about it working in the previous version for you
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupThe BP Nouveau I was referring to, it’s the BP Theme, you can check which one you are using in Settings>BuddyPress>Options, it’s either Legacy or Nouveau
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupYep that’s what I tried, posting an activity update and then commenting on it. Then as another user I replied to the comment. I moved away and came back and all items where there.
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupBy the way, when you say comment, am I right in assuming you mean activity update?
In reply to: Comments not saved on GroupI’m not seeing that problem, are you using BP Nouveau?
You’d need to pass an argument to bp_has_members in the members-loop.php file:
$args = array( type => 'alphabetical' ) if ( bp_has_members( $args ) ) : endif:So you would work out which BP theme you are using, then overload the correct members-loop.php for that theme and add the args as above.
In reply to: member lists aand activity stream not showingHi there, have you tried logging in as one of those users? The members directory will only display users that have actually logged in.
In reply to: Activity Stream AdsI can switch between views and it still works
In reply to: Activity Stream AdsFor me it works, both on Legacy and on Nouveau
In reply to: Login goes to Members page, not Activity pageThat sounds like you already have something that’s causing that redirection since it’s not a standard feature. I could recommend a plugin to do the redirection, but it’s probably better if you track down what’s causing it, it could be either a plugin, rarely your theme, but could also be via custom coding, you’ll need to track it down.
Hi there, according to this: https://codex.buddypress.org/emails/email-tokens/ there’s a global token called {{recipient.username}}. Does that help?
In reply to: “Invalid Post Type” when posting in group’s newsfeedAh great you’ve spotted it and that you don’t have to wait for a fix!
In reply to: “Invalid Post Type” when posting in group’s newsfeedYep, I’d recommend you do a lotof testing. With a plugin list that’s long there’s bound to be other compatibility issues hiding. Here’s a tip: try https://wordpress.org/plugins/plugin-detective/ next time you spot a potential conflict. With a lot of plugins it really helps streamline the process of tracking down the offending plugin.
Also, while you are in the startup stage turn on WordPress Debugging, there’s a plugin BWS Error Log Viewer – that will set up your error log and give you a simple way of viewing it, this will help you track the issues. WP DEBUG can cause a performnce hit for active sites so the general idea is to only run it on active sites if you are tracking a particular issue though to be honest one my sites with only a few hundred users I’ve not seen any issues with it on.
Check out https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG for more info on debugging in WordPress.
One last thing: don’t forget your JavaScript console in your browser, the WP Error log is for PHP errors in the WordPress back-end, the js console (right click on the page and Inspect Element) will show you any JavaScript Errors and messages.
I don’t think you will find this, the issue is that profiles are pretty complex and vary depending on the BP configuration and also other plugins that may be loaded. The general approach is to take the existing profile and modify that.
In reply to: “Invalid Post Type” when posting in group’s newsfeedSo now you reactivate the plugins one by one until it stops working again, then you will have isolated the culprite. it’s a bit of a pain I know. The alternative is to activate half of them in one go and check if it’s stil working, that way you will have ruled out 50% of your plugins at once.
