I think this is a bbPress related question, you should ask at https://bbpress.org/forums/
Are you using BP Nouveau? Are you using Cover-images?
if so you would need to overload the
plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-nouveau/buddypress/members/single/cover-image-header.phpfile:1. Setup a child theme.
2. make a copy of cover-image-header.php
3. Edit line 23 of cover-image-header.php as follows:Current:
<h2 class="user-nicename">@<?php bp_displayed_user_mentionname(); ?></h2>edited:
<h2 class="user-name"><?php bp_core_get_username( bp_displayed_user_id() ); ?></h2>4. place your edited copy of cover-image-header.php in
themes/your-child-theme/buddypress/members/singleIn reply to: Doesnt show incoming friend requestsHave you ruled out conflicts with other plugins or your theme?
In a vanilla install this feature works so it’s reasonable to suppose there’s something in your specific configuration that is preventing this functionality.
Try deactivating all other plugins apart from BuddyPress and switching to a default theme such as 2019.
In reply to: Lost Password LinkHave you investigated other login widgets that have this feature? For example https://wordpress.org/plugins/login-sidebar-widget/
The alternative is to raise a feature request on Trac https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/
Try downloading the latest version from here:
In reply to: Restricting User from changing profile header viewBuddyPress does not come with that option, it must be added by something else I’m afraid.
ONe option is to overload the buddypress css by creating a file in
themes/buddypress/css/buddypress.min.cssyou could then choose not to add any bp css styling to those elements.In reply to: Display group description only in HomeWhat you could to is overload
buddypress/bp-templates/bp-nouveau/buddypress/groups/single/cover-image-header.phpline 58 to be as follows:<?php if ( bp_is_group_home() && ! bp_nouveau_groups_front_page_description() && bp_nouveau_group_has_meta( 'description' ) ) : ?>In reply to: How to remove delete from nouveau activity entryThat’s the way I’d do it
In reply to: Group active not yet activeFirst thing I’d try is switching to the 2019 theme and see how that works.
In reply to: Group pages never open (white page)It needs to be set to Nouveau, or rename your overload to something else.
In reply to: Group pages never open (white page)This looks like you have overloaded the group-header.php file with the BP Nouveau version, but you have set your bp theme to Legacy.
In reply to: I do not see “Users\Site Notices”Hi there,
It’s not entirely clear what your issue is, could you explain a bit more?
In reply to: Report buttonThere’s a number of plugins that allow moderation, it’s not a feature built into BuddyPress by default.
for example – https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-toolkit/
In reply to: buddypress add images to articleYou’d nee to contact the author of that plugin and ask them to add this as a feature.
In reply to: Disable or Hide Private Message ButtonIt can go in your child-themes function.php file or you can create a bp-custom.php file in the plugins directory and put the code in there.
In reply to: Remove the Public option.Hi there, a public message in a private site is simply a message that appears in the activity feed and includes an @mention notification. The public won’t see it but all members of the site will be able to see it. But if you want to remove that option you could look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-messaging-control which would allow you to remove that feature by user role. It would simply prevent the @mention from notifying the target user.
In reply to: Unable to Post???Yep that’s not added by BP I’m afraid
In reply to: Unable to Post???Think it must be some bug as your original post was accepted, sent to me, but is not being displayed. Neither is my answer, the post itself shows no indication that it’s been moderated.
Regarding your question. What makes you think this is a BuddyPress issue? BP does not provide a popup login, other plugins do that but not BP.
In reply to: Comment Button in Group Refreshes PageThis sounds like the JavaScrip is not being loaded for comments, I’d try seeing if there are any errors in your browser console.
In reply to: How to add BuddyPress menus for multisite sub sitesHi there, You need to select Screen Options and make sure BuddyPress is selected.
In reply to: Deleted profile field reappearing againThat would indicate you do indeed have a plugin that is adding this, deactivate all plugins, delete the profile group then reactivate your plugins one by one until it comes back, then you’ll know which one is causing it.
In reply to: Number of groups limitor:
function bpex_user_can_create_groups( $can_create, $restricted ) { $groups = groups_get_groups(); if ( $groups['total'] <= 70 ) return $can_create; return false; } add_filter( 'bp_user_can_create_groups', 'bpex_user_can_create_groups', 99, 2 );In reply to: Number of groups limitone option would be to use https://wordpress.org/buddypress-restrict-group-creation and limit the number of groups an individual can create.
But for your main request, what you could do is simply wait till 70 groups are created and then turn off group creation for non admin.
In reply to: Add a logout option in TABS,You could add the following to your functions.php:
add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'bpex_logout_tab', 50 ); function bpex_logout_tab() { if ( ! bp_is_user_profile() && ! bp_is_user_activity() && ! bp_is_user() ) { return; } bp_core_new_nav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'Log Out', 'buddypress' ), 'slug' => 'logout', 'position' => 99, 'screen_function' => 'bpex_wp_logout', 'default_subnav_slug' => 'public', 'item_css_id' => 'logout-tab' ) ); } function bpex_wp_logout() { wp_logout(); wp_redirect( home_url() ); }
