In reply to: Using header cover
I think what you are looking for is the ability to place a shortcode on a page, that displays the members header on a page of your choice for any given member id.
There isn’t such a thing, however https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-profile-shortcodes/ comes close in that it allows you to display most of the components of the members header on a page.
BuddyPress Profile shortcodes is a pretty simple plugin, I think it should be possible to combine VapVarun’s contributed code with BP Profile Shortcodes in order to create a shortcode that does something similar to what you are looking for.
In reply to: Using header coverIf you want to get to know the structure of the BP overload files, could I suggest you try installing https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-template-overloader/ this maps out all of the overload files, it’s pretty daunting the sheer number of files you can modify, but if you look for that one file you can view it’s contents.
Also the link I mentioned but forgot to include about overloading BP is here. https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/a-quick-look-at-1-7-theme-compatibility/
In reply to: Using header coverVapVarun has suggested some code that would return the url for the members cover image, you could use this as a basis for developing some code?
$args = array( 'object_dir' => 'members', 'item_id' => $user_id = bp_get_member_user_id(), 'type' => 'cover-image', ); $cover_img_url = bp_attachments_get_attachment( 'url', $args ); <img src="' . $cover_img_url . '" />In reply to: Paid membership solutionsFrom what I’ve read, I’d suggest looking at S2Member first since this seems to have the longest track record of working with BP.
In reply to: Using header coverThis page explains about template overloads, but really you are not looking to do that, just view the contents of wp-content/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/single/coer-image-header.
You are looking to display the cover based header info and this is the page that does that in BP. However one thing to note is that these functions will only work in a BP profile page since they are using displayed username to identify the cover info to publish. So I guess this depends on what page you are looking to publish this info on?
An alternative I looked at is to use the BuddyPress Profile Shortcodes plugin, but unfortunately this does not include a shortcode for the cover image, most of the other information you re after though, they can get.
In reply to: Manual User ActivationThe best option is to use BP Registration Options.
In reply to: Change url links on members loopsActually I’m not sure that would work, since the bp profile pages links are created dynamically
In reply to: Change url links on members loopsOne possible way of achieving this could be to implement custom rewrite rules for the URL, I’ve not tried it but here’s a page that describes how it’s done:
As a first step maybe you should install query monitor to see if any db queries are going wrong?
Why dn’t you try it and see, it’s the only og plugin I know for BP, so I would have thought it would, or if it didn’t you should ask the author to add the feature.
In reply to: Adding a tab to the Users->Your Profile SectionThat’s a WordPress page so you might be wise to ask in the WordPress Forums as well. I don’t knw, hopefully someone will come along who knows?
In reply to: How show Friends count on PHP7This sounds like a bug, maybe you should raise it on Trac?
In reply to: Using header coverAlso check out the overload files, I believe buddypress/members/single/cover-image-header.php is the page that fires to create the cover image, so you could use that as a basis for some custom code I reckon.
In reply to: Using header coverSearch the documentation for info relating to cover images. this page talks about the function that calls the cover image:
Using BuddyPress Cover Images inside the Member and Group Loops
In reply to: Autocomplete No Longer WorkingHi there,
The code works for me, there must be something else messing up the JaveScript, have you taken a look in the js console to see if there are any errors?
Have you enabled the wordpress debug and log file? I think that’s where I’d start looking, see if there are any errors shown. I’d also install Debug Bar and Query Monitor.
Query Monitor will allow you to see if the WP query is failing.
In reply to: Can’t find registered user in backend? The best thing to do is to access your database direct and browse the WP users table to see if you can see them. I’ve heard about users being able to hide by setting a user name of just spaces, however, if they are a member they have to be listed in the database.
In reply to: “This is a notice to all users” doesn´t workThere’s two plugins Mass Messaging for BuddyPress is one, they both work slightly differently so I’d recommend you look at both.
In reply to: “This is a notice to all users” doesn´t workThe notice to all members is not an email, it’s a banner that is dispayed once they have logged in. for email options check out the two mass messaging plugins.
In reply to: Members not showingHave those members actually visited the site after being activated? The members list only shows that members who have been active following signup.
In reply to: Media Library not displaying images after BP UpdateIf that does not get anything then try Debug Bar, this will give you any JavaScript errors.
In reply to: Why aren’t user ids recycled after deleting users?I still think it’s the database that is dishing out the unique keys so it is what’s controlling the user id’s not WordPress itself. BuddyPress just uses the WordPress User Id.
In reply to: Media Library not displaying images after BP UpdateI think you might get something if you install Query Monitor, it gives you a load of information about what queries are happening and any errors, try installing that and visiting your media library
In reply to: Why aren’t user ids recycled after deleting users?I think it’s because of the way databases work, the database is set to auto-increment, there’s not a use deleted mode that I’m aware of. The user id is the databases auto-increment unique key.
