In reply to: User menu in sidebar
Users can have multiple blogs, so link one is off the table.
The second will probably have to direct to the wp-admin area?
In reply to: Buddypress iPhone theme updateNice job, looks awesome, will this be a real app or just a theme?
@ Gpo1: How many off the mobile web users have android? I’ve only been building for iPhone myself.
In reply to: Remove “Activation” page on user registrationA standard Buddypress isntall doesn’t send out activation e-mails, does it?
And if all else fails, there’s a search option in most text editors.
In reply to: who’s online avatars widget acting funkyCould be that its put in some kind of cache to reduce page load time and queries.
That would mean that the list doesn’t get updated right away.
In reply to: Change color link forum : where are they? The question is already answered, get firefox, install firebug add-on and see where it is.
If we have to answer this question everytime someone can’t find a selector, we’d have no space left for the more important topics.

There’s already a solution for number 2 of your list (not sure if it works with stand alone wp).
For problem one you could just make a simple bbparser, but since your not a coder, you’ll have to wait till a coder needs it too.
In reply to: External and Group use of bbPressI don’t really believe Buddypress will support this (at least not untill Buddypress 1.4, and even then only if lots of users demand it), their might be a plugin of some sort that allows it though. Shouldn’t be that hard to copy the data to the buddypress version if that happens.
In reply to: Wire 1.2Mentions is a good solution for this problem already, you could even make a textbox on a profile that automatically adds a mention off the user in front of the text. Could be an easy solution.
In reply to: Easy change of activity-design@ nickrita: I don’t believe all urls have a seperate class, although there might not even be one url with a special class.
In reply to: need help with pluginPut this in config, and just rename groups everywhere in your theme to courses.
define ( 'BP_GROUPS_SLUG', 'courses' );But this won’t allow you to have both groups and courses, you’ll have to make a plugin/component for that.
Note: Haven’t tested that group slug before, so not sure if it works.
In reply to: My irrelevant siteLooks pretty cool, kind of a weird way to use buddypress though.
In reply to: External and Group use of bbPressJust install buddypress with group forums and install bbpress seperate, with intergration offcourse.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
In reply to: Look at the spam accounts what a jokeAre stwc’s solutions not enough?
In reply to: Request from Designer to Plugin Developers@ Modemlooper, make a list? Don’t think the plugin developers are going to check all the css to see if they’re might be classes they could use.
In reply to: STOP feature-polls for BP 1.3@ 21dcb
I believe that Polls should be a plugin made by some third party plugin developer. That’s why I said that, I do believe some buddypress users could use something like that. Also seeing that Erich said it was in the development list for 1.3, I figured it was for the core buddypress.

Also, Facebook was build off the ground, I can see that users of wordpress/buddypress wanting the wp-admin to be only for admins as the name suggests and keep the users off the creepy admin panel.
@ DJPaul
So on which items the most votes are, is going to be developed first?
In reply to: STOP feature-polls for BP 1.3Polls are gonna be core?
Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a poll on a social network.

I agree with Erich on this one, polls should be a plugin, not be a core component.
@21cdb: So if Facebook suddenly starts sending bombs to users, your gonna do that too? Cuz hey, they know what they’re doing, right?

In reply to: User activity stream post countJust do a count query?
In reply to: How do I create a plain ol’ normal forum?Just install bbpress the old fashion way and do a wordpress intergration.
In reply to: How do I know if I\’m editing the correct files? You only need FTP?
Anyway, the first problem can be easily solved by making your own login form on some page.
Why bp-custom, try placing it in your theme’s functions.php file.
In reply to: Randy Candy & Desktop – two new buddypress themes!Nice child themes, keep it up.
In reply to: Extending BuddyPress with HTML5IE6 is still used by a majority of people, so in most cases it still needs to be supported. Especially in a business environment.
And just because IE8 is starting to work on becoming a better browser, doesn’t mean its there yet. IE9 is probably gonna be a total waste of time as well.
Using javascript for a theming problem is not a good solution.
Not sure where you read that Google search engine is using HTML5.
In reply to: WPMU very slow in localDepends on what you call expensive, either way, just read that you use xampp and not wamp, not sure if xampp would give the same results on my local.
(Planning on putting 12gb in my pc soon.
In reply to: Redirect to Registration Page [“Plugin”]That’s what we call a snippet.
In reply to: WPMU very slow in localCould be that your pc is just slow?
What hardware do you use? (processor, ram, etc)
I’m running it with an i7 and 6gb of ram it works great.
In reply to: How to find a DevDon’t think anyone’s really gonna develop until 1.2 is out, you could wait or try sending the more populair developers a private message (brajesh, mr maz, etc).
