I’m all for earning money on plugins/templates but I don’t want people offering their services on this forum, this forum is for questions about the main software, buddypress. If people want to earn for their efforts place it on your own blog for example or be like wpmu dev and ask a subscription fee.

I personally always take a group of beta testers, let them test it, if it’s all okay, then I let the crowd in.

At the moment I’m working on a community and the advertisement has been done almost 2 months ago, with a dissapointing outcome that people visited but no one was able to use the website. Probably has the same effect if you make a website and there’s still a lot of bugs, people will leave.

At the beginning of a community make some interesting topics, talk with people yourself and if your community is interesting enough, people will stay.

Not really interested there are enough plugins that allow this already. Perhaps a plugin that allows to rate everything on a wordpress/buddypress site (with the option to disable certain spots). For example: actvity, comments, forum posts, blog posts, pictures (bp album+) etc etc.

And I understand that you want to be funded for your efforts, but please don’t ask money on this forum.

Use https://codex.wordpress.org/WPMU_Functions/get_blogs_of_user to get the blogs of the user, then count the posts on every blog, add them all together and you’ll see wether a user has any posts or not.

Awesome to hear that my idea is on the road map already. And yes, it is quite annoying that youtube has ads and other stuff on their videos lately, but hey thats the price to pay to embed content from a 3rd party. There are still a lot of other streaming 3rd party websites beside youtube that work great.

When do you think this feature will be build in? I’m in need off this right now, but if it’s like.. 3 months, I’ll build my own plugin for now.

Just take it out of your home.php? Or build an if statement around it.

Edit: See that the standard theme doesn’t have a home.php, my bad. Script should work either way (only now in header.php).

Isn’t that exactly what’s supposed to happen?

When you zoom out the cropper (taking the picture as a whole) it has to put all those pixels in the tiny image. Which results in a blurry avatar.

Instead of only adding support for a dedicated streaming, perhaps adding streaming from 3rd parties like youtube/dailymotion/veoh as well? Something like just a simple input where people can throw in the embed/url of the video page and then the youtube/dailymotion/veoh video gets added in their “videoalbum”.

Would be cool for people that don’t have dedicated server.

This is build basic in wordpress, just add a page in the backend of wordpress and it’ll show up in your menu bar.

Does this only work with the username “admin” or just anyone with admin as role?

I don’t use “admin” as my head admin username anymore.

Not all plugins for buddypress enable delete functions etc for admins yet, this is a great way around that.

Remove the plugin “buddypress-backwards-compatibility” and see if it works, if it does, then notify Andy that his plugin is broken.

Just make a custom wordpress page that looks like it and make it your index page in your wordpress settings? It won’t be called index.html anymore, but that wouldn’t be that big of a problem.
