As expected this is because of caching only. A big limitation of page based caching, that hits to the server are captured by the caching system causing this issue.

I’ve finally gotten a test site up to try out 12.0.0-beta2. It looks (so far) like I can run without BP Classic. I am seeing a lot of Deprecated notices for things like bp_core_get_user_domain and bp_get_group_permalink, but maybe those just haven’t been cleaned up yet.

I’ve just tested with BP 12.0.0-beta2 (no other plugins), having the Twenty Twenty-Two theme active, it works as expected see screenshots below:
