could the mods install this so we can flat spam like this?
yes it is right in the codex: http://codex.bbpress.org/forum-settings/
but I don’t think BP has it
This is a great idea and frankly I’m surprised that it has not been included already. And not just for friend requests but for pretty much all activity on the site: comments, forum posts, etc.
As long as you limit the frequency to what is ‘human’ you are making spammers’ lives very difficult. The issue is to not make legitimate users upset by setting it too low. But that can be tweaked easily to perfection.
you could approach the dev himself
you’ll have to be clearer, what you wrote is really confusing, can you rephrase it?
second this but I didn’t know there was a plugin for this!
it would be helpful if you would share it so another person can see the solution in case they want to do the same thing in the future @abray
that’s the whole point of having a support forum!
sorry can’t help you but I’d like to add my vote
/member/user format is much cleaner and seo friendly
why was it changed in the first place?
@djpaul sorry for the unrelated comment but can you please update us on whether the welcome pack plugin is compatible with BP 1.7?
the welcome pack would be a good start but I didn’t know it wasn’t updated to 1.7 yet
are you sure it doesn’t work with 1.7?
Short answer: No.
Go to webhostingtalk forum and register to find the best host.
You can also fill out this to request multiple quotes from hosts:
thanks @kizzywizzy I guess it is subjective but man, 2013 looks awful! maybe I’m just not ‘hip’ any more!
whoohoo! awesome work
btw there’s spam comments on the bpdevel blog
is there a way to watch these somewhere after the fact?
lots of resources out there, for example: http://www.netmagazine.com/tag/responsive-web-design?ct=tutorial
It would be extremely useful to admins of communities to keep track of basic activity within the community. Things like how many members sign up or join, how many posts, comments, threads are made, how many members are inactive for past n days, how many have filled out profile, etc.
This is functionality equivalent to maintaining a finger on the pulse of the community and tracking important variables to set goals, find out troublesome issues, measure growth, etc.
interesting question, I’ve often wondered this myself
“In my experience the notion of a perfect host is a canard….but WPE aside from any deal killing kind of quirks is the best platform you could be hosted on”
So there is no perfect host… and WPE is that host.
And anyone who has a host that provides better servers, better tech support and cheaper rates is what? lying?
I suppose we’ll have to agree to disagree then
