In reply to: How to fix database
Remember, this is still in beta. It is not recommended for use on a production installation.
In reply to: How to fix databaseThe unread message count is stored for each recipient of a thread for quick access. I seem to remember that you ran into the truncation bug in the previous beta that would be causing this.
The quickest way is to zero out the “unread_count” field in “wp_bp_messages_recipients”.
In reply to: How to fix databaseThere have not been any major DB changes since beta 1. Your DB should have no problem upgrading unless you had problems before?
In reply to: BuddyPress Beta 2There are no feature enhancements other than you can now edit a group avatar.
There have been over 140 bugs fixed in this version, you can see all the bugs fixed by clicking the link below. Every bug with the date back to Dec 15th has been fixed since beta 1.

You should find the second beta has far less bugs.
@cikguazleen You can change it back to news with the following code:
function blog_to_news() {
return 'news';
}
add_filter( 'bp_home_blog_slug', 'blog_to_news' );Add that to a new file and drop it into mu-plugins.
@geordee: Glad to hear it. There were in fact around 140-150 bugs fixed between beta 1 and beta 2.
In reply to: Buddypress causing blank page with WordPress muIf you can’t check your logs or turn on error reporting then fixing this will be like finding a needle in a haystack.
In reply to: 1.0 b2 on WP MU 2.7 so far…beta != final.
In reply to: Buddypress causing blank page with WordPress muPlease check your logs, there is no such thing as a blank screen. You can also turn on error reporting in PHP. Once you know what’s wrong, it’s usually simple to diagnose.
In reply to: 1.0 b2 on WP MU 2.7 so far…If you are getting blank screens you need to check your logs to see the errors. The likely cause is that you are using functions that no longer exist.
If you can find out which functions are in question, it will be quite easy to fix. This is the problem with creating new themes before the default theme is final unfortunately. Once the theme is 1.0, you won’t run into these problems.
In reply to: BuddyPress Beta 2Yep, backup and replace everything.
In reply to: Upgraded to WPMU 2.7 now I have an errorI haven’t seen this problem on any of the test installs I run, also on upgrades from 2.6.5. Has anyone else seen this error at all?
In reply to: What Is this after my footer?remove_action( ‘wp_footer’, ‘bp_core_admin_bar’ );
This is probably due to a bug where threads that get to a certain length cause problems in the DB. It was actually the field type for the field that stores message IDs. Long story short, if you update to beta 2, and try with new message threads, you should see the problem go away.
In reply to: latest version and WordPress Mu 2.7You can replace your navigation items in your theme with a new template tag: <?php bp_nav_items() ?>
In reply to: Widget formating issuesEdit your theme’s CSS and add some styles to fix up the display.
In reply to: latest version and WordPress Mu 2.7Beta 2 will either be late tonight, or in the morning PDT.

I’ve just tried setting this and the menu item showed up and was accessible.
