bp-help replied to the topic Buddypress plugin freezing theme edit in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 1 month ago
@walshfilho
Whats the theme? Sounds more like the theme is the issue rather than buddypress. Have you tried activating a known theme that works with buddypress like twenty thirteen or twenty fourteen to see if the issue persists? If you can edit the theme and menus with those themes then that should tell you that your theme is at fault and you…[Read more] -

bp-help replied to the topic [Resolved] does files change when updating BP ? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 1 month ago
@osamanuman
If you hacked the buddypress files directly without creating a child theme or using theme compatibility then unfortunately you will lose those changes when you update BP. If you would like to keep those changes it will now be a pain because you will have to download all of those files you changed in cpanel then build a child theme or…[Read more] -

bp-help replied to the topic Can I add payment option to registration later on? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 1 month ago
@kris35
You can use BuddyPress registration for now but I am not sure about once you decided to start charging for memberships how it would effect the retroactive members that had used the BuddyPress registration. It would probably just effect the users after you used a plugin for charging for memberships and not the retroactive members. I believe…[Read more] -

What is the other thread you mentioned? Link would be helpful. Besides @r-a-y ‘s advice are you sure the user hasn’t activated their account with the email and when they clicked on it they just gotten the message their account could not be activated? I have encountered that issue before but the user is activated and allowed to login…[Read more] -
bp-help replied to the topic Possible bug in BuddyPress – user deleting his own account in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 2 months ago
@michaeltransmissions
Being that this is an isolated bug on your particular installation that I could not replicate I am fairly certain it is a theme or maybe even a plugin you are using.
Edit:
@danpbp beat me to the question of the theme -

bp-help replied to the topic [Resolved] New User Guide – What Options Do I Have? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 2 months ago
@disrup
Yes you can do that by overloading the template file in a child theme and adding the proper markup in the activate.php file. If your unsure how to accomplish this then do a search as this has been covered many times on the forums. Just keep in mind the directory structure needs to remain intact. -
bp-help replied to the topic [Resolved] New User Guide – What Options Do I Have? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 2 months ago
@disrup
I have to agree with @danbp here as he stated:IMHO the most simple thing to do, is to add a link to the tutorial on the register page with some description. And to add a tutorial item to one of your site menu.
With that said don’t you think a user that has already registered and activated their account on your site would be slightly…[Read more]

@michaeltransmissions
I can’t replicate your issue I just logged in as a test user and deleted an account and the message displayed is:test user1 was successfully deleted.
I am using the most stable versions of WP/BP and the twenty thirteen theme JFYI.

bp-help replied to the topic Reinstall BuddyPress without 404 errors? in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 2 months ago
@whiteeagle1985
You should always backup your database before introducing any plugin. BuddyPress has never caused me any 404’s unless you have forgotten to associate the BuddyPress pages correctly please review: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-components/ -
