It will help if you provide the plugin that is responsible for keeping the registration in moderation because BP doesn’t hold registrations for approval by default. Whatever that plugin is, try deactivating it as well as all other plugins except BP and bbPress and test the registration/activation.In reply to: Login and Password reset link question@nodeadbunnies
1.) You do realize BP is a WP plugin right? It is not its own entity therefor if the user registers with BP activated, they are also registering with WP.
2.) By default if a user enters a wrong password they are then redirected to wp-login.php if you want to include the lost password link there may be some login widget plugins that includes that link, other wise you could get that link from wp-login.php and hard code it into your child themes sidebar.php which may not be a good idea until you get a little more experience. Try searching for plugins that will accomplish this before going that route.
3.) You may want to check the spam folder to see if the activation email went there. If not then check your servers error logs and report back.In reply to: Auto Email Reminder to Inactive Users@jmar42
Please don’t open multiple old threads regarding the same subject matter! In reply to: Add activity form and loop on my home page@szed
Use the plugin I mentioned above and modify it like like so:
In line 84-86 in bp-activity-as-shortcode.php you will see:<?php if($title): ?> <h3 class="activity-shortcode-title"><?php echo $title; ?></h3> <?php endif;?>Just above that add this:
<?php if ( is_user_logged_in() ) : ?> <?php locate_template( array( 'activity/post-form.php'), true ); ?> <?php endif; ?><br />Use the shortcode in your post or page and you are done and the post form will be included. Make sure you study the parameters you can use with the shortcode on the plugins page!

Actually the second snippet on that page is a redirect which works well when combined with r-a-y ‘s code.In reply to: Use standard WordPress registration@starapple
Create a bp-custom.php if you dont have one already. For more on that see:
https://codex.buddypress.org/plugindev/bp-custom-php/
Then copy both snippets from the below link into bp-custom.php :

I would suggest:In reply to: Where is a working demo@zorro1965
Why don’t you create your own play area? You know what xampp is right? Install WP & BP there and play all you want. That is where any serious development should start anyhow! I doubt core WP team will take over BP as BP adds a level of complexity that the BP core team specializes in but if I am wrong I stand corrected! In reply to: Where is a working demo@zorro1965
BP is still in active development. You can view some sites here:

Did you select Multi-Line Text Box in the Field Type dropdown menu?In reply to: Making the landing page the login page@life1134
You could try this and take what you need from it:

Has all of the buddypress files that the template pack plugin copied over in your theme been removed? If I remember correctly you would have to manually remove those via cpanel or FTP. I don’t think deactivating the plugin will remove them but its been awhile since I used it. Since 1.7+ I haven’t looked back! ๐In reply to: Making the landing page the login page@henrywright-1
By default “login” does not show up in dashboard/settings/reading in the static page dropdown menu.In reply to: Making the landing page the login page@life1134
You could use:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/private-community-for-bp-lite/
and in the plugins settings use wp-login.php as the redirect.@applegateian
Just a guess but did you try:display: none !important; In reply to: Adding classes to profile fields@applegateian
Maybe I am missing something here! Did you add those fields in the dashboard, or was it some custom hack?In reply to: Adding classes to profile fields@applegateian
If your on the view profile page and you are inspecting with dev tools you should see a tr class with the field_ID followed by td class label and td class data. You should be able to use those to your advantage. In reply to: Adding classes to profile fields@applegateian
I just created a checkbox called “Sign up for our newsletter” and this is what is return when I inspect the element:<div class="editfield field_21 field_sign-up-for-our-newsletter"> <div class="checkbox"> <span class="label">Sign up for our newsletter </span> <label><input checked="checked" type="checkbox" name="field_21[]" id="field_22_0" value="Yes"> Yes</label> </div> <p class="field-visibility-settings-toggle" id="field-visibility-settings-toggle-21"> This field can be seen by: <span class="current-visibility-level">Anyone</span> <a href="#" class="visibility-toggle-link">Change</a> </p> <div class="field-visibility-settings" id="field-visibility-settings-21" style="display: none;"> <fieldset> <legend>Who can see this field?</legend> <ul class="radio"><li><label for="see-field_public"><input type="radio" id="see-field_public" name="field_21_visibility" value="public" checked="checked"> Anyone</label></li><li><label for="see-field_loggedin"><input type="radio" id="see-field_loggedin" name="field_21_visibility" value="loggedin"> Logged In Users</label></li><li><label for="see-field_adminsonly"><input type="radio" id="see-field_adminsonly" name="field_21_visibility" value="adminsonly"> Admins Only</label></li><li><label for="see-field_friends"><input type="radio" id="see-field_friends" name="field_21_visibility" value="friends"> My Friends</label></li></ul> </fieldset> <a class="field-visibility-settings-close" href="#">Close</a> </div> <p class="description"></p> </div>I could see how this could be targeted. Are you inspecting on the edit profile page that has the checkbox’s?
In reply to: Adding classes to profile fields@applegateian
Have you tried using firefox in conjunction with firebug to target those elements? You could also use google chromes or IE’s dev tools.@cc-cailin
As @modemlooper stated you should not use that plugin. Please review:
