Hi! I tried with the plugin indicated by @chouf1 https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/network-privacy/ but it doesn’t work properly (it let you see groups and members!) and the link provided by @bphelp doesn’t work 🙁
Is there any other plugin option?

I have the same problem as @nickharambee , the code from @chouf1 above doesn’t work for me, where in the templates can I decrease the largest number (should be 42?) somewhere in the templates?
second question where in MySQL database can I remove old spammed forum title tags, they unfortunately remained after removing spammy groups.

How about accounting for usernames, first names, surnames across multiple components such as Activity, Profile…? Only a plugin will let you do that, unless you want to write some bulky custom code.

@chouf1 I believe patrick’s comment on that ticket is relevant:

“The function bp_core_check_for_flood in bbp-core-moderation.php is not hooked to anything. No flood control on activity page.”

@Chouf1, that’s my blog you’re linking to. I am not sure if they added Throttling to the new Buddypress version. I opened a ticket months ago, the milestone has been set to: version 1.7 to Future Release https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3732. This is a bit frustrating since Throttling makes for great spam control.

If anybody is getting this issue, unfortunately and fortunately I could find the error. It was a plugin conflict (I don’t know why I couldn’t find it before) with RS Buddypress Activity Refresh and its option “Date format” it was overriding the date format and for some reason language too.

@praisehim : That sounds a tricky issue. Have you tried removing all plugins if you are able? I ask this as sometimes other plugins can interfere so stripping back to the basic install can be a great starting place.
