In reply to: Voting/Polling functionalityIn reply to: Remove Header From BP Registration page?
Hi @hindicell
first of all create a child theme for Frisco.
And use conditionnal tags to show/hide template parts intended for logged in or out users.
Something like
<code> if ( is_user_logged_in() ) :
the stuff to show to logged in users
endif;</code>
and/or
<code> if ( ! is_user_logged_in() ) :
the stuff to show to logged out users
endif;</code>
But before going on a overcomplicated work, you would prefer a private BP site ? If so read here:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-make-buddypress-1-6-a-private-community/
In reply to: getting post count via user IDhi paul,
the function given by modemlooper doesn’t exist in WP…
Try this one: bbp_get_user_post_count( $user_id ); ?
You can also analyse this old plugin, for inspiration purpose:

For blog post counting, see here:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/display-the-most-accurate-comment-count-in-wordpress/
geo mashup is plugable with geo mashup custom plugin.
Read here

and eventually search here:

In reply to: Restrict access to posts based on group membership@elangley, the plugin is gone, but is here now:
Buddypress Group Documents for BP 1.5 and WP 3.3.
And he already works on wp 3.5 & BP 1.6.2 MS 😀
In reply to: Widget Displaying Avatar and Follow Buttonbuddypress followme or buddypress followers ?
The followme plugin integrate a widget. https://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/buddypress-follow-me/trunk/includes/
And on followme description page, you can read:
— Important — If you use Buddypress Followers plugin ( https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-followers/ ), it should be deactivated.
In reply to: Buddypress index.php in wp theme folder@djpaul templating is a bit confusing between bbPress (shipped with BP) for group forums and bbPress as separate plugin for a single forum. So if i understand you and the codex, i can change the bbPress template for group and/or standalone from a bbpress directory in the child theme, and in the case of the standalone option, using bbPress shortcodes ?
In reply to: Widget Displaying Avatar and Follow ButtonHi,
what kind of follower do you need ? Only from within your site or social followres ?
For the first case, check here: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-follow-me/
how difficult would id be to create one
– huh, depends on you. Read here: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/plugin-development/creating-a-plugin/
In reply to: Threaded form topics and replies in activity streamSorry ! There is a plugin for nested comments, but it will only work if you use bbPress as standalone forum. Doesn’t work for group forums.

In reply to: [Resolved] hide profile from non-logged-in usersTake care by copy/pasting from here, the <code> tags belongs to the forum. Must be retrived.
In reply to: [Resolved] hide profile from non-logged-in usersHi,
you have to modify from within a child theme the profile-loop.php file
your-child-theme/members/single/profile/profile-loop.phpOn the first line of the file, add <code><?php if ( is_user_logged_in() ) : ?></code>
At the end of the file, insert between the last endif and the last do_action this:
<code><?php else : ?>
<?php echo “<div style=’width: 600px;height:25px; padding: 4px; border: 3px solid #ff0000; text-align: center; font-style:bold; font-size: 1.3em;’> You must be logged in to view a member profile</div>”; ?>
<?php endif; ?></code>Change the div inline style to whatever you need accordingly to your theme. The example fits with bp-default.
In reply to: BuddyPress and WordPress Update – Need helphi,
– Should I update WordPress or BuddyPress first?
WP first than BP, but together !
BP from version 1.1.2 to 1.2!important, from 1.2 to 1.5 from 1.5 to 1.6.2
Same thing for WP from 2.8.4 to 3.0!important, from 3.0 to 3.2, from 3.2 to 3.4 from 3.4 to 3.5For each, take the versions from SVN.
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags– Does any of the versions between the 1.1.2 and the last of BP will mess up with Design?
Yes/No depends on how deep you did the changes
– Where can I edit the website Title, Description and Keywords?
From within the site admin Dashboard > General settings
As keywords are no more used by Google, they’re not necessary. Otherwise you have to hardcode them into your child theme index page– Is there something that I need to know in order to make this update successfully?
First of all, read the codex 😀
https://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress
https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/releases/In reply to: Unable to create topic: BP 1.6.2Hi,
if you activate site wide forum, you have to change the default Forum Base name to something other as “forum”.
Unfortunatly, bbPress and BP use the same base name and in a BP install, BP’s forum has priority.
In reply to: Email notification not workingHi,
without more details about your configuration, it’s better to ask here: http://jetpack.me/support/
In reply to: Threaded form topics and replies in activity streamHi,
not exactly a response but see this awsome tutorial for bbPress 2.2 and BP 1.6.2 setup.
http://labzip.com/the-definitive-guide-to-buddypress-bbpress-configuration/
In reply to: How to add custom $usermeta to registration@imath provided another solution for single or multisite here 2 days ago after the same question on bp-fr.net
In reply to: Suggestion for BuddyPress "Account Creation Page"Hi,
don’t try to prevent spammers. They already know how WP is working. 😀
So you have many unconfirmed subscriber anyway. In such case, you could resend the activation email or delete the unconfirmed account. A small plugin do this very easely:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/unconfirmed/
I use it regularly on my 1.6.2 network without problems. 😉
In reply to: Buddypress index.php in wp theme folderHi,
you haven’t to rename it ! bbPress is part of buddypress as the integrated group-forum software and as is, use the BP theme or child theme.
bbPress themes are here: wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-forums/bbpress/bb-templates/kakumei
If you want to use bbPress separatly as standalone forum, you have to activate the bbPress plugin. The forum activation lets you choose for such an install. (group-forum and/or separate forum) and install the plugin automatically.
The buddypress theme (bp-default) sits in wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default
WP themes are in wp-content/themes/
If you use any other theme, it must be placed in the same directory like this:
wp-content/themes/your-theme
or
wp-content/themes/your-child-theme
In reply to: Need Local Avatar not Just GravatarIn reply to: show time&date of topic&replyHi,
View here first: https://wordpress.org/search/mysql2date
and try by replacing from
echo sprintf( __( ‘%1$s said %2$s:’, ‘buddypress’ );to
echo mysql2date('D, d M Y H:i:s O', bp_activity_get_last_updated(), true); This is what is used to show the date on feeds, witch has the same output you want. Maybe would work ? 😀
In reply to: Activity showing 8hrs agohi,
have you set the time in your wp settings ?
wp-admin/options-general.php
In reply to: Move group forum topic to different groupForget to specify that this plugin works only for group forums, not standalone or general forum
In reply to: Move group forum topic to different group@aminima I doubt you’re “the world” 😀
Anyway here’s the link to upload the plugin.
Note that you probably will have to adjust a little bit your template, to have a clear access to the topic mover menu. In some situation it overrides a bit the group menu… Don’t remeber exactly, but some div and CSS adjustment will to the job.
Plugin Authors: @imath and @chouf1
Provided as is. No support.
Pot file and french mo file included
In reply to: Move group forum topic to different groupHi,
i had the same request. And finally built a plugin based on this one.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-topic-mover/
works now with 1.6.1 and WP 3.4.2
